Jeremiah 36
1 And in the fourth yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, came this word vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
OR avvenne, nell'anno quarto di Gioiachim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, che questa parola fu [indirizzata] dal Signore a Geremia, dicendo:
2 Take thee a roule or booke, and write therein all the wordes that I haue spoken to thee against Israel, and against Iudah, and against all the nations, from the day that I spake vnto thee, euen from the dayes of Iosiah vnto this day.
Prenditi un rotolo da scrivere, e scrivi in esso tutte le parole che io ti ho dette contro ad Israele, e contro a Giuda, e contro a tutte le [altre] genti, dal giorno che io cominciai a parlarti, [cioè], dai giorni di Giosia, infino a questo giorno.
3 It may bee that the House of Iudah will heare of all the euill, which I determined to doe vnto them that they may returne euery man from his euil way, that I may forgiue their iniquitie and their sinnes.
Forse ascolterà la casa di Giuda tutto il male che io penso di farle, per convertirsi ciascuno dalla sua via malvagia; ed io perdonerò [loro] la loro iniquità, e il lor peccato.
4 Then Ieremiah called Baruch the sonne of Neriah, and Baruch wrote at the mouth of Ieremiah all the wordes of the Lord, which hee had spoken vnto him, vpon a roule or booke.
Geremia adunque chiamò Baruc, figliuolo di Neria; e Baruc scrisse nel rotolo da scrivere, di bocca di Geremia, tutte le parole del Signore, ch'egli avea dette.
5 And Ieremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut vp, and can not go into the House of the Lord.
Poi Geremia comandò a Baruc, dicendo: Io [son] rattenuto, io non posso entrare nella Casa del Signore.
6 Therefore goe thou, and reade the roule wherein thou hast written at my mouth the words of the Lord in the audience of the people in the Lordes House vpon the fasting day: also thou shalt reade them in the hearing of all Iudah, that come out of their cities.
Ma tu entravi, e leggi in presenza del popolo, nel rotolo che tu hai scritto di mia bocca, le parole del Signore, nella Casa del Signore, nel giorno del digiuno; leggile ancora in presenza di tutti que' di Giuda che saranno venuti dalle lor città.
7 It may be that they will pray before the Lord, and euery one returne from his euill way, for great is the anger and the wrath, that the Lord hath declared against this people.
Forse la lor supplicazione caderà nel cospetto del Signore, e si convertiranno ciascuno dalla sua via malvagia; perciocchè l'ira, e il cruccio che il Signore ha pronunziato contro a questo popolo [è] grande.
8 So Baruch the sonne of Neriah did according vnto all, that Ieremiah the Prophet commanded him, reading in the booke the wordes of the Lord in the Lords House.
Baruc adunque, figliuolo di Neria, fece secondo tutto ciò che il profeta Geremia gli avea comandato, leggendo nel libro le parole del Signore, nella Casa del Signore.
9 And in the fift yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, in the ninth moneth, they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Ierusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Iudah vnto Ierusalem.
(Or nell'anno quinto di Gioiachim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, nel nono mese, tutto il popolo [ch'era] in Gerusalemme, e tutto il popolo ch'era venuto dalle città di Giuda in Gerusalemme, bandirono il digiuno nel cospetto del Signore.)
10 Then read Baruch in the booke the wordes of Ieremiah in the house of the Lord, in the chamber of Gemariah the sonne of Shaphan the secretarie, in the hier court at the entrie of the new gate of the Lordes house, in the hearing of all the people.
Baruc, [dico], lesse nel libro le parole di Geremia; nella Casa del Signore, nella camera di Ghemaria, figliuolo di Safan, scriba, nel cortile di sopra, nell'entrata della porta nouva della Casa del Signore, in presenza di tutto il popolo.
11 When Michaiah the sonne of Gemariah, the sonne of Shaphan had heard out of the booke all the wordes of the Lord,
E Michea, figliuolo di Ghemaria, figliuolo di Safan, udì tutte le parole del Signore, [lette] fuor del libro.
12 Then hee went downe to the Kings house into the Chancellours chamber, and loe, all the princes sate there, euen Elishama the Chancellour, and Delaiah the sonne of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the sonne of Achbor, and Gemariah the sonne of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the sonne of Hananiah, and all the princes.
E scese nella Casa del re, nella camera del segretario; ed ecco, quivi sedevano tutti i principi: Elisama segretario, e Delaia figliuolo di Semaia, ed Elnatan figliuolo di Acbor, e Ghemaria figliuolo di Safan, e Sedechia figliuolo di Hanania, e tutti gli [altri] principi.
13 Then Michaiah declared vnto them all the wordes that he had heard when Baruch read in the booke in the audience of the people.
E Michea rapportò loro tutte le parole ch'egli aveva udite, mentre Baruc leggeva nel libro, in presenza del popolo.
14 Therefore all the princes sent Iehudi the sonne of Nethaniah, the sonne of Shelemiah, the sonne of Chushi, vnto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hande the roule, wherein thou hast read in the audience of the people, and come. So Baruch the sonne of Neriah, tooke the roule in his hand, and came vnto them.
Allora tutti i principi mandarono Iudi, figliuolo di Netania, figliuolo di Selemia, figliuolo di Cusi, a Baruc, per dir[gli: ] Prendi in mano il rotolo, nel quale tu hai letto in presenza del popolo, e vieni. E Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, prese il rotolo in mano, e se ne venne a loro.
15 And they saide vnto him, Sit downe now, and reade it, that we may heare. So Baruch read it in their audience.
Ed essi gli dissero: Deh! siedi, e leggicelo. E Baruc lo lesse loro.
16 Now when they had heard all the wordes, they were afraid both one and other, and said vnto Baruch, We will certifie the King of all these wordes.
E quando ebbero intese tutte quelle parole sbigottirono, [riguardandosi] l'un l'altro, poi dissero a Baruc: Noi non mancheremo di rapportar tutte queste parole al re.
17 And they examined Baruch, saying, Tell vs nowe, howe diddest thou write all these wordes at his mouth?
Appresso domandarono Baruc, dicendo: Deh! dichiaraci come tu hai scritte tutte queste parole di bocca di Geremia.
18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these wordes vnto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ynke in the booke.
E Baruc disse loro: Egli mi dettava di sua bocca tutte queste parole, ed io le scriveva con inchiostro nel libro.
19 Then saide the princes vnto Baruch, Goe, hide thee, thou and Ieremiah, and let no man knowe where ye be.
Allora i principi dissero a Baruc: Va', nasconditi tu, e Geremia; e niuno sappia dove voi [siate].
20 And they went in to the King to the court, but they layde vp the roule in the chamber of Elishama the Chancellour and tolde the King all the wordes, that he might heare.
Ed essi vennero al re, dentro al cortile, e riposero il rotolo nella camera di Elisama, segretario; e rapportarono al re tutte quelle parole.
21 So the King sent Iehudi to fet the roule, and he tooke it out of Elishama the Chancellours chamber, and Iehudi read it in the audience of the King, and in the audience of all the princes, which stoode beside the King.
E il re mandò Iudi, per recare il rotolo. Ed egli lo recò dalla camera di Elisama, segretario. E Iudi lo lesse in presenza del re, e in presenza di tutti i principi, ch'erano in piè d'intorno al re.
22 Nowe the King sate in the winter House, in the ninth moneth, and there was a fire burning before him.
Or il re sedeva nella casa del verno, nel nono mese; e dinanzi a lui [vi era] un focolare acceso. E quando Iudi ne ebbe lette tre o quattro facce,
23 And when Iehudi had read three, or foure sides, hee cut it with the penknife and cast it into the fire, that was on the hearth vntil all the roule was consumed in the fire, that was on the hearth.
il re lo tagliò col coltellino del segretario, e lo gettò nel fuoco, ch'[era] nel focolare, finchè tutto il rotolo fu consumato sul fuoco, ch'[era] in sul focolare.
24 Yet they were not afraide, nor rent their garmets, neither the King, nor any of his seruants, that heard all these wordes.
E nè il re, nè alcun de' suoi servitori, che udirono tutte quelle parole, si spaventarono, nè stracciarono i lor vestimenti.
25 Neuerthelesse, Elnathan, and Delaiah, and Gemariah had besought the King, that he would not burne ye roule: but he would not heare them.
E benchè Elnatan e Delaia e Ghemaria intercedessero appo il re, che non bruciasse il libro, egli non li ascoltò.
26 But the King commanded Ierahmeel the sonne of Hammelech, and Seraiah the sonne of Azriel, and Shelemiah the sonne of Abdiel, to take Baruch the scribe, and Ieremiah the Prophet, but the Lord hid them.
Anzi il re comandò a Ieremeel, figliuolo di Hammelec, ed a Seraia, figliuolo di Azriel, ed a Selemia, figliuolo di Abdeel, di prender lo scriba Baruc, e il profeta Geremia. Ma il Signore li nascose.
27 Then the word of the Lord came to Ieremiah (after that the King had burnt the roule and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Ieremiah) saying,
E la parola del Signore fu [indirizzata] a Geremia, dopo che il re ebbe bruciato il rotolo, e le parole che Baruc aveva scitte di bocca di Geremia, dicendo:
28 Take thee againe another roule and write in it all ye former words that were in the first roule which Iehoiakim the King of Iudah hath burnt,
Torna a prenderti un altro rotolo e scrivi in quello tutte le parole di prima, ch'erano nel primo rotolo, che Gioiachim, re di Giuda, ha bruciato.
29 And thou shalt say to Iehoiakim King of Iudah, Thus saith the Lord, Thou hast burnt this roule, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, that the King of Babel shall certainly come and destroye this land, and shall take thence both man and beast?
E di' a Gioiachim, re di Giuda: Così ha detto il Signore: Tu hai bruciato quel rotolo, dicendo: Perchè hai scritto in esso, che il re di Babilonia per certo verrà, e guasterà questo paese, e farà che non vi saranno più nè uomini, nè bestie?
30 Therefore thus saith the Lord of Iehoiakim King of Iudah, Hee shall haue none to sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heate, and in the night to the frost.
Perciò, così ha detto il Signore intorno a Gioiachim, re di Giuda: Egli non avrà alcuno che segga sopra il trono di Davide; e il suo corpo morto giacerà [esposto] al caldo di giorno, e al gelo di notte.
31 And I will visite him and his seede, and his seruants for their iniquitie, and I will bring vpon them, and vpon the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and vpon the men of Iudah all the euil that I haue pronounced against them: but they would not heare.
Ed io farò punizione sopra lui, e sopra la sua progenie, e sopra i suoi servitori, della loro iniquità; e farò venire sopra loro, e sopra gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, e sopra gli uomini di Giuda, tutto il male che io ho loro pronunziato, e [che] non hanno ascoltato.
32 Then tooke Ieremiah another roule, and gaue it Baruch the scribe the sonne of Neriah, which wrote therein at the mouth of Ieremiah all the wordes of the booke which Iehoiakim King of Iudah had burnt in the fire, and there were added besides them many like wordes.
Geremia adunque prese un altro rotolo, e lo diede a Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, scriba; ed egli vi scrisse, di bocca di Geremia, tutte le parole del libro, che Gioiachim, re di Giuda, aveva bruciato al fuoco; alle quali furono ancora aggiunte molte somiglianti parole.
