Jeremiah 32
1 The worde that came vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, in the tenth yere of Zedekiah king of Iudah, which was the eightenth yeere of Nebuchad-nezzar.
Pada tahun kesepuluh pemerintahan Zedekia raja Yehuda, yaitu tahun kedelapan belas pemerintahan Nebukadnezar raja Babel, TUHAN berbicara kepadaku.
2 For then the King of Babels hoste besieged Ierusalem: And Ieremiah the Prophet was shutte vp in the court of the prison, which was in the King of Iudahs house.
Pada waktu itu tentara raja Babel sedang menyerang Yerusalem. Aku ditahan di pelataran istana raja
3 For Zedekiah King of Iudah had shut him vp, saying, Wherefore doest thou prophesie, and say, Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will giue this citie into the handes of the King of Babel, and he shall take it?
oleh Raja Zedekia karena dituduh telah mengumumkan bahwa TUHAN berkata begini, "Raja Babel akan Kubiarkan menaklukkan dan menduduki kota ini,
4 And Zedekiah the King of Iudah shall not escape out of the hande of the Caldeans, but shall surely be deliuered into the handes of the King of Babel, and shall speake with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall beholde his face,
dan Raja Zedekia tidak akan luput. Ia akan diserahkan kepada raja Babel, dan menghadap raja itu serta berbicara sendiri dengan dia.
5 And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babel, and there shall he be, vntil I visit him, saith ye Lord: though ye fight with the Caldeans, ye shall not prosper.
Kemudian Zedekia akan diangkut ke Babel dan tinggal di sana sampai Aku menghukum dia. Sekalipun ia memerangi orang Babel, ia tidak akan berhasil. Aku, TUHAN, telah berbicara."
6 And Ieremiah said, The word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
TUHAN berkata kepadaku
7 Beholde, Hanameel, the sonne of Shallum thine vncle, shall come vnto thee and say, Bye vnto thee my fielde, that is in Anathoth: for the title by kindred appertaineth vnto thee to bye it.
bahwa Hanameel, anak laki-laki pamanku Salum, akan datang untuk minta supaya aku membeli tanahnya di Anatot di wilayah Benyamin. Sebab, akulah sanaknya yang terdekat yang berhak membeli tanah itu.
8 So Hanameel, mine vncles sonne, came to mee in the court of the prison, according to the word of the Lord, and said vnto me, Bye my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the countrey of Beniamin: for the right of the possession is thine, and the purchase belongeth vnto thee: bye it for thee. Then I knewe that this was the worde of the Lord.
Lalu tepat seperti yang telah dikatakan TUHAN, datanglah Hanameel kepadaku di pelataran istana, dan minta supaya aku membeli tanahnya. Karena itu aku yakin TUHAN betul-betul telah berbicara kepadaku.
9 And I bought the field of Hanameel, mine vncles sonne, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the siluer, euen seuen shekels, and tenne pieces of siluer.
Maka aku membeli tanah itu dari Hanameel dengan harga tujuh belas uang perak. Kupanggil saksi-saksi dan di depan mereka kutandatangani surat pembeliannya, lalu kububuhi segel dan kutimbang uangnya.
10 And I writ it in the booke and signed it, and tooke witnesses, and weighed him the siluer in the balances.
11 So I tooke the booke of the possession, being sealed according to the Lawe, and custome, with the booke that was open,
Kemudian aku mengambil surat pembelian itu yang sudah diberi segel dan berisi syarat-syarat serta ketentuan-ketentuan. Kuambil juga salinan surat yang tidak ada segelnya,
12 And I gaue the booke of the possession vnto Baruch the sonne of Neriah, the sonne of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine vncles sonne, and in the presence of the witnesses, written in the booke of the possession, before al the Iewes that sate in the court of the prison.
dan kedua surat itu kuberikan kepada Barukh anak Neria cucu Mahseya. Aku menyerahkannya di depan Hanameel serta saksi-saksi yang telah menandatangani surat-surat itu, dan di depan orang-orang yang sedang duduk di pelataran itu.
13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
Di depan mereka semua aku berkata kepada Barukh,
14 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Take the writings, euen this booke of the possession, both that is sealed, and this booke that is open, and put them in an earthen vessell, that they may continue a long time.
"TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa, Allah Israel, memerintahkan supaya engkau mengambil kedua surat ini, baik yang asli maupun salinannya, dan memasukkannya ke dalam sebuah periuk tembikar supaya tahan lama.
15 For the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel saith thus, Houses and fieldes, and vineyardes shall be possessed againe in this land.
TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa, Allah Israel, berkata bahwa rumah, tanah, dan kebun anggur kelak akan diperjualbelikan lagi di negeri ini."
16 Now when I had deliuered the booke of the possession vnto Baruch, the sonne of Neriah, I prayed vnto the Lord, saying,
Setelah surat-surat pembelian itu kuberikan kepada Barukh, aku berdoa,
17 Ah Lord God, beholde, thou hast made the heauen and the earth by thy great power, and by thy stretched out arme, and there is nothing hard vnto thee.
"TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, Engkaulah yang menciptakan langit dan bumi dengan kuasa dan kemampuan-Mu yang besar. Tak ada sesuatu pun yang sukar bagi-Mu.
18 Thou shewest mercie vnto thousands, and recompensest the iniquitie of the fathers into the bosome of their children after them: O God the great and mightie, whose Name is ye Lord of hostes,
Engkau menunjukkan kasih-Mu yang abadi kepada beribu-ribu orang, tapi Engkau juga menghukum orang karena dosa orang tuanya. Engkau Allah yang agung dan perkasa; nama-Mu TUHAN Yang Mahakuasa.
19 Great in counsell, and mightie in worke, (for thine eyes are open vpon all the wayes of ye sonnes of men, to giue to euery one according to his wayes, and according to the fruite of his workes)
Rencana-rencana-Mu hebat, dan perbuatan-perbuatan-Mu ajaib; Engkau melihat segala yang dilakukan manusia, dan membalas mereka sesuai dengan perbuatan mereka.
20 Which hast set signes and wonders in the land of Egypt vnto this day, and in Israel, and among all men, and hast made thee a Name, as appeareth this day,
Dahulu kala Engkau melakukan keajaiban dan hal-hal luar biasa di Mesir, dan sampai sekarang pun Engkau masih terus melakukannya, baik di antara orang Israel maupun di antara segala bangsa lain. Karena itu kini Engkau termasyhur di mana-mana.
21 And hast brought thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signes, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, with a stretched out arme, and with great terrour,
Dengan kuasa dan kekuatan-Mu yang besar Engkau membawa umat Israel keluar dari Mesir. Engkau melakukan mujizat-mujizat dan keajaiban-keajaiban serta kejadian-kejadian yang menggemparkan musuh.
22 And hast giuen them this land, which thou diddest sweare to their fathers to giue them, euen a land, that floweth with milke and hony,
Negeri yang baik dan subur ini Kauberikan kepada mereka seperti yang telah Kaujanjikan kepada leluhur mereka.
23 And they came in, and possessed it, but they obeyed not thy voyce, neither walked in thy Law: all that thou commaundedst them to doe, they haue not done: therefore thou hast caused this whole plague to come vpon them.
Tapi ketika mereka datang ke negeri ini dan merebutnya, mereka tidak taat kepada perintah-perintah-Mu, dan tidak hidup menurut ajaran-ajaran-Mu. Semua yang Kauperintahkan kepada mereka tidak satu pun yang mereka laksanakan. Sebab itu Engkau mendatangkan segala bencana ini ke atas mereka.
24 Beholde, the mounts, they are come into the citie to take it, and the citie is giuen into the hande of the Caldeans, that fight against it by meanes of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence, and what thou hast spoken, is come to passe, and beholde, thou seest it.
Orang-orang Babel telah membangun tembok-tembok pengepungan di sekeliling kota untuk merebutnya, dan sekarang mereka menyerang. Pertempuran, kelaparan, dan wabah penyakit akan menyebabkan kota ini jatuh ke tangan mereka. Engkau melihat bahwa semua yang Kaukatakan telah menjadi kenyataan.
25 And thou hast sayd vnto me, O Lord God, Bye vnto thee the fielde for siluer, and take witnesses: for the citie shall be giuen into the hand of the Caldeans.
Namun demikian, ya TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, Engkaulah yang menyuruh aku membeli tanah ini di depan saksi-saksi, sekali pun sebentar lagi kota akan direbut oleh orang Babel."
26 Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
Kemudian TUHAN berkata kepadaku,
27 Beholde, I am the LORD GOD of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
"Akulah TUHAN, Allah semua orang. Tak ada yang sulit bagi-Ku.
28 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I wil giue this citie into the hand of the Caldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar, King of Babel, and he shall take it.
Kota ini akan Kubiarkan dikuasai oleh Nebukadnezar raja Babel bersama pasukannya. Mereka akan merebut kota ini,
29 And the Caldeans shall come and fight against this citie, and set fire on this citie and burne it, with the houses, vpon whose rouses they haue offred incense vnto Baal, and powred drinke offrings vnto other gods, to prouoke me vnto anger.
dan membakarnya sampai habis bersama-sama dengan rumah-rumah di mana orang menimbulkan kemarahan-Ku, karena di atas atap rumah-rumah itu mereka membakar dupa kepada Baal dan menuangkan anggur untuk persembahan bagi dewa-dewa.
30 For the children of Israel, and the children of Iudah haue surely done euill before me from their youth: for the children of Israel haue surely prouoked me to anger with the workes of their hands, saith the Lord.
Sejak permulaan sejarah mereka, orang Israel dan orang Yehuda telah membuat Aku tidak senang. Mereka membangkitkan kemarahan-Ku dengan perbuatan-perbuatan mereka yang jahat.
31 Therefore this citie hath bene vnto me as a prouocation of mine anger, and of my wrath, from the day, that they built it, euen vnto this day, that I should remoue it out of my sight,
Sejak kota ini dibangun, penduduknya telah membuat Aku marah sekali. Aku telah memutuskan untuk membinasakannya,
32 Because of all the euill of the children of Israel, and of the children of Iudah, which they haue done to prouoke mee to anger, euen they, their Kings, their Princes, their Priests, and their Prophets, and the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem.
karena segala kejahatan yang dilakukan orang Yehuda dan Yerusalem bersama para raja, pejabat pemerintah, imam, dan nabi-nabi mereka.
33 And they haue turned vnto me the backe and not the face: though I taught them rising vp earely, and instructing them, yet they were not obedient to receiue doctrine,
Mereka telah meninggalkan Aku dan sekali pun Aku terus mengajar mereka, mereka tidak mau mendengarkan dan tidak mau insaf.
34 But they set their abominations in ye house (whereupon my Name was called) to defile it,
Malah rumah yang dibangun untuk tempat ibadat kepada-Ku telah dinajiskan oleh mereka dengan meletakkan berhala-berhala mereka yang memuakkan di tempat itu.
35 And they built the hie places of Baal, which are in the valley of Ben-hinnom, to cause their sonnes and their daughters to passe through the fire vnto Molech, which I commanded them not, neither came it into my minde, that they should doe such abomination, to cause Iudah to sinne.
Mereka membangun mezbah-mezbah untuk Baal di Lembah Hinom, dan mempersembahkan anak-anak mereka kepada Dewa Molokh. Padahal, Aku tak pernah menyuruh mereka melakukan hal itu, bahkan tak pernah timbul dalam pikiran-Ku bahwa mereka akan melakukan perbuatan sekeji itu dan membuat orang Yehuda berdosa."
36 And nowe therefore, thus hath the Lord God of Israel spoken, concerning this citie, whereof ye say, It shalbe deliuered into the hand of the King of Babel by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence,
TUHAN, Allah Israel, berkata kepadaku, "Yeremia, bangsa Israel berkata bahwa peperangan, kelaparan, dan wabah penyakit akan membuat kota ini jatuh ke tangan raja Babel. Sekarang, dengarkan juga apa yang akan Kukatakan.
37 Beholde, I will gather them out of all countreys, wherein I haue scattered them in mine anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation, and I wil bring them againe vnto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.
Aku akan mengumpulkan bangsa ini dari semua negeri tempat mereka Kuceraiberaikan karena kemarahan-Ku dan geram-Ku kepada mereka. Mereka akan Kubawa kembali ke tempat ini dan Kumungkinkan tinggal di sini dengan aman.
38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Mereka akan menjadi umat-Ku, dan Aku menjadi Allah mereka.
39 And I wil giue them one heart and one way that they may feare me for euer for ye wealth of them, and of their children after them.
Aku akan memberi mereka hanya satu tujuan hidup: yaitu, menghormati Aku selama-lamanya; hal itu akan membawa kebaikan bagi mereka sendiri, dan bagi keturunan mereka.
40 And I wil make an euerlasting couenant with them, that I wil neuer turne away from them to doe them good, but I wil put my feare in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Aku akan membuat perjanjian yang kekal dengan mereka. Aku tak akan berhenti berbuat baik kepada mereka. Aku akan membuat mereka takut dan hormat kepada-Ku dengan sepenuh hati supaya mereka tidak menjauhi Aku.
41 Yea, I wil delite in them to do them good, and I wil plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart, and with all my soule.
Aku akan senang berbuat baik kepada mereka, dan membuat mereka menetap di negeri ini untuk selama-lamanya.
42 For thus sayth the Lord, Like as I haue brought all this great plague vpon this people, so wil I bring vpon them all the good that I haue promised them.
Sebagaimana Aku telah mendatangkan bencana ke atas bangsa ini, begitu pula Aku akan memberikan semua yang baik yang telah Kujanjikan kepada mereka.
43 And the fields shalbe possessed in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast, and shalbe giuen into the hand of the Caldeans.
Orang berkata bahwa negeri ini telah menjadi seperti padang gurun yang tidak didiami oleh manusia dan binatang, dan bahwa negeri ini telah jatuh ke tangan orang Babel. Tapi Aku berkata bahwa kelak ladang-ladang akan diperjualbelikan lagi di negeri ini;
44 Men shall buy fields for siluer, and make writings and seale them, and take witnesses in the land of Beniamin, and round about Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iudah, and in the cities of the mountaines, and in the cities of the plaine, and in the cities of the South: for I wil cause their captiuitie to returne, saith the Lord.
surat pembeliannya akan ditandatangani, disegel, dan diperkuat oleh saksi-saksi. Itu akan terjadi di wilayah Benyamin, di desa-desa sekitar Yerusalem, di kota-kota Yehuda, di kota-kota di daerah pegunungan, di daerah kaki pegunungan, dan di Yehuda selatan. Bangsa ini akan Kupulihkan keadaannya di negeri ini. Aku, TUHAN, telah berbicara."
