Jeremiah 29
1 Now these are the wordes of the booke that Ieremiah the Prophet sent from Ierusalem vnto the residue of the Elders which were caryed away captiues, and to the Priestes, and to the Prophets, and to all the people whome Nebuchad-nezzar had caried away captiue from Ierusalem to Babel:
ଯିହୋୟାଖୀନ୍ ରାଜା ଓ ରାଜମାତା ଓ ନପୁଂସକଗଣ, ଆଉ ଯିହୁଦାର ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଅଧିପତିମାନେ, ଶିଳ୍ପକରମାନେ ଓ କର୍ମକାରମାନେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ,
2 (After that Ieconiah the King, and the Queene, and the eunuches, the princes of Iudah, and of Ierusalem, and the workemen, and cunning men were departed from Ierusalem)
ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ନିର୍ବାସିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କର ଓ ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସର ଦ୍ୱାରା ନିର୍ବାସାର୍ଥେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମଠାରୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ନୀତ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କର, ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣଙ୍କ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ନିକଟକୁ ଯେଉଁ ପତ୍ର ଲେଖି,
3 By the hand of Elasah the sonne of Shaphan and Gemariah the sonne of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah King of Iudah sent vnto Babel to Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) saying,
ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସର ନିକଟକୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ପ୍ରେରିତ ଶାଫନ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀୟାସା ହିଲ୍କୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଗମରୀୟର ହସ୍ତ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯିରୂଶାଲମଠାରୁ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ, ସେହି ପତ୍ରରେ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା ଥିଲା, ଯଥା,
4 Thus hath the Lord of hostes the God of Israel spoken vnto all that are caryed away captiues, whome I haue caused to be caryed away captiues from Ierusalem vnto Babel:
“ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ବାସିତ କରାଇଅଛୁ, ସେହି ସକଳ ନିର୍ବାସିତମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଆମ୍ଭର ଆଦେଶ ଏହି;
5 Buylde you houses to dwell in, and plant you gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ତହିଁରେ ବାସ କର; ଉଦ୍ୟାନ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ତହିଁର ଫଳ ଭୋଗ କର;
6 Take you wiues, and beget sonnes and daughters, and take wiues for your sonnes, and giue your daughters to husbands, that they may beare sonnes and daughters, that ye may bee increased there, and not diminished.
ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ପୁତ୍ରକନ୍ୟା ଜାତ କର, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣକୁ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରାଅ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରାଅ, ସେମାନେ ପୁତ୍ରକନ୍ୟା ଜାତ କରନ୍ତୁ; ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ବର୍ଦ୍ଧିତ ହୋଇ ଊଣା ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
7 And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.
ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ନଗରରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ବାସିତ କରାଇଅଛୁ, ତହିଁର ଶାନ୍ତି ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର ଓ ତହିଁ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର, କାରଣ ତହିଁର ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶାନ୍ତି ହେବ।
8 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, and your southsayers that bee among you, deceiue you, neither giue eare to your dreames, which you dreame.
ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନେ ଓ ଗଣକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନ ଭୁଲାଉନ୍ତୁ, ଅଥବା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ ଦର୍ଶନ କର, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି ସବୁ ସ୍ୱପ୍ନରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କର ନାହିଁ।
9 For they prophecie you a lie in my Name: I haue not sent them, saith the Lord.
କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନାମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଚାର କରନ୍ତି; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେରଣ କରି ନାହୁଁ।
10 But thus saith the Lord, That after seuentie yeeres be accomplished at Babel, I will visite you, and performe my good promise toward you, and cause you to returne to this place.
ଯେହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ବାବିଲର ସତୁରି ବର୍ଷ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ତତ୍ତ୍ୱାନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଫେରାଇ ଆଣି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଆମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ବାକ୍ୟ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରିବା।
11 For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେସକଳ ସଂକଳ୍ପ କରିଅଛୁ, ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ତିମ କାଳରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭରସା ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେସବୁ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳର ନୁହେଁ, ମଙ୍ଗଳର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ଅଟେ।
12 Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you,
ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରିବ ଓ ଯାଇ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥାରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କରିବା।
13 And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.
ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବ ଓ ସର୍ବାନ୍ତଃକରଣ ସହିତ ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଖୋଜିଲେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇବ।
14 And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇବାକୁ ଦେବା, ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବନ୍ଦୀତ୍ୱାବସ୍ଥା ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରିବା ଓ ଯେଉଁ ସକଳ ଜାତିମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ, ଯେସକଳ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେଇଅଛୁ, ସେହି ସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବା, ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି; ଆଉ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ବାସିତ କରାଇଅଛୁ, ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆଣିବା।
15 Because ye haue sayd, The Lord hath raised vs vp Prophets in Babel,
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ବାବିଲରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହିଅଛ।
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the King, that sitteth vpon the throne of Dauid, and of all the people, that dwell in this citie, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captiuitie:
ଏହେତୁ ଦାଉଦର ସିଂହାସନରେ ଉପବିଷ୍ଟ ରାଜା ବିଷୟରେ ଓ ଏହି ନଗରରେ ବାସକାରୀ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କର, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯେଉଁ ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବନ୍ଦୀ ହୋଇଯାଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି;
17 Euen thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will sende vpon them the sworde, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figges, that cannot bee eaten, they are so naughtie.
ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଖଡ୍ଗ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ, ମହାମାରୀ ପଠାଇବା ଓ ଘୃଣାଜନକ ଯେଉଁ ଡିମ୍ବିରି ଫଳ ଅତି ମନ୍ଦ ହେବାରୁ ଭୋଜନ କରାଯାଇ ନ ପାରେ, ତାହାରି ତୁଲ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କରିବା।
18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence: and I will make them a terror to all kingdomes of the earth, and a curse, and astonishment and an hissing, and a reproche among all the nations whither I haue cast them,
ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଯେ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେଇଅଛୁ, ସେସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଭିଶାପର, ବିସ୍ମୟର, ଶୀସ୍ ଶବ୍ଦର ଓ ନିନ୍ଦାର ପାତ୍ର ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଖଡ୍ଗ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଓ ମହାମାରୀ ନେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇବା ଓ ପୃଥିବୀର ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏଣେତେଣେ ନିକ୍ଷେପ କରିବା;
19 Because they haue not hearde my words, saith the Lord, which I sent vnto them by my seruantes the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending them, but yee woulde not heare, saith the Lord.
କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ଉଠି ଆମ୍ଭର ଦାସ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ ଯାହା କହିଲୁ, ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ସେହି ବାକ୍ୟରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲ ନାହିଁ।
20 Heare ye therefore the word of the Lord all ye of the captiuitie, whome I haue sent from Ierusalem to Babel.
ଏହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ପ୍ରେରିତ ନିର୍ବାସିତ ଲୋକ ସମସ୍ତେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣ।
21 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, of Ahab the sonne of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the sonne of Maaseiah, which prophecie lyes vnto you in my Name, Beholde, I will deliuer them into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
‘କୋଲାୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଆହବ ଓ ମାସେୟର ପୁତ୍ର ସିଦିକୀୟ ଆମ୍ଭ ନାମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଚାର କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସରର ହସ୍ତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବ;
22 And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire,
ପୁଣି, ବାବିଲରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ନିର୍ବାସିତ ଯେତେ ଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେହି ଦୁଇ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିର ଉପଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ଅଭିଶାପର କଥା ପ୍ରଚଳିତ ହେବ, ଯଥା, ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟ ଓ ଆହାବଙ୍କୁ ଯେପରି ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିଥିଲେ, ସେହିପରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କରନ୍ତୁ।
23 Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.
କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମୂଢ଼ତାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସଙ୍ଗେ ବ୍ୟଭିଚାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରି ନାହୁଁ, ଏପରି ମିଥ୍ୟା କଥା ଆମ୍ଭ ନାମରେ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ଅଛୁ।’”
24 Thou shalt also speake to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
ଆହୁରି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିହିଲାମୀୟ ଶମୟୀୟର ବିଷୟରେ ଏହି କଥା କହିବ,
25 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy Name vnto all the people, that are at Ierusalem, and to Zephaniah the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, and to all the Priests, saying,
“ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଓ ମାସେୟର ପୁତ୍ର ସଫନୀୟ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆପଣା ନାମରେ ଏହି ପତ୍ର ପଠାଇଅଛ, ଯଥା,
26 The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.
‘କେହି ବାତୁଳ ହୋଇ ଆପଣାକୁ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ପରି ଦେଖାଇଲେ, ତାହାକୁ ହରିକାଠରେ ଓ ବେଡ଼ିରେ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ରକ୍ଷକ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଯିହୋୟାଦା ଯାଜକର ବଦଳରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯାଜକ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
27 Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?
ଏହେତୁ ଅନାଥୋତୀୟ ଯେଉଁ ଯିରିମୀୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଆପଣାକୁ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ପରି ଦେଖାଉଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ତାହାକୁ ଧମକ ଦେଇ ନାହଁ?
28 For, for this cause hee sent vnto vs in Babel, saying, This captiuitie is long: buyld houses to dwell in, and plant gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
ସେ କାରଣରୁ ସେ ବାବିଲରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଅଛି, ନିର୍ବାସିତ କାଳ ଦୀର୍ଘ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ତହିଁରେ ବାସ କର ଓ ଉଦ୍ୟାନ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ଫଳ ଭୋଗ କର।’”
29 And Zephaniah the Priest red this letter in the eares of Ieremiah the Prophet.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଫନୀୟ ଯାଜକ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ କର୍ଣ୍ଣଗୋଚରରେ ଏହି ପତ୍ର ପାଠ କଲା।
30 Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା।
31 Send to all them of the captiuitie, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah hath prophecied vnto you, and I sent him not, and hee caused you to trust in a lye,
“ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିର୍ବାସିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରତି ଏହି କଥା କହି ପଠାଅ, ନିହିଲାମୀୟ ଶମୟୀୟର ବିଷୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ‘ଆମ୍ଭେ ଶମୟୀୟକୁ ନ ପଠାଇଲେ ହେଁ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଚାର କରିଅଛି ଓ ମିଥ୍ୟା କଥାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଜନ୍ମାଇଅଛି,
32 Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Behold, I wil visite Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seede: hee shall not haue a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he beholde the good, that I will doe for my people, sayth the Lord, because he hath spoken rebelliously against the Lord.
ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିହିଲାମୀୟ ଶମୟୀୟକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ବଂଶକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦେବା; ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାର କେହି ରହିବେ ନାହିଁ; ଆଉ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯେଉଁ ମଙ୍ଗଳ କରିବା, ତାହା ସେ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି; କାରଣ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହର କଥା କହିଅଛି।’”
