Jeremiah 29
1 Now these are the wordes of the booke that Ieremiah the Prophet sent from Ierusalem vnto the residue of the Elders which were caryed away captiues, and to the Priestes, and to the Prophets, and to all the people whome Nebuchad-nezzar had caried away captiue from Ierusalem to Babel:
১এটিই হল গুটানো চিঠি, যা যিরমিয় ভাববাদী বন্দীদের মধ্যে অবশিষ্ট থাকা প্রাচীনদের, যাজকদের, ভাববাদীদের এবং অন্য যে সমস্ত লোকেদের নবূখদনিৎসর যিরূশালেম থেকে বাবিলে নির্বাসিত করেছিলেন তাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলেন।
2 (After that Ieconiah the King, and the Queene, and the eunuches, the princes of Iudah, and of Ierusalem, and the workemen, and cunning men were departed from Ierusalem)
২রাজা যিকনিয়, রাজমাতা, রাজকর্মচারীরা, যিহূদা ও যিরূশালেমের নেতারা এবং কারিগরেরা যিরূশালেম থেকে যাবার পরে এই চিঠি লেখা হয়েছিল।
3 By the hand of Elasah the sonne of Shaphan and Gemariah the sonne of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah King of Iudah sent vnto Babel to Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) saying,
৩তিনি এই গোটানো চিঠি শাফনের ছেলে ইলীয়াসা ও হিল্কিয়ের ছেলে গমরিয়ের হাতে পাঠিয়েছিলেন, যাকে যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয় বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরের কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলেন।
4 Thus hath the Lord of hostes the God of Israel spoken vnto all that are caryed away captiues, whome I haue caused to be caryed away captiues from Ierusalem vnto Babel:
৪এই গোটানো চিঠিতে এই কথা ছিল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সমস্ত বন্দীদের এই কথা বলেন, যারা আমার কারণে যিরূশালেম থেকে বাবিলে নির্বাসিত হয়েছিল, তাদের প্রতি
5 Buylde you houses to dwell in, and plant you gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
৫বাড়ি তৈরী কর ও তাতে বাস কর। বাগান চাষ কর ও তার ফল খাও।
6 Take you wiues, and beget sonnes and daughters, and take wiues for your sonnes, and giue your daughters to husbands, that they may beare sonnes and daughters, that ye may bee increased there, and not diminished.
৬স্ত্রী গ্রহণ কর ও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দাও। তোমাদের ছেলেদের জন্য স্ত্রী ও মেয়েদের জন্য স্বামী নিয়ে এসো। তারাও ছেলেমেয়ে জন্ম দিক এবং সেখানে বেড়ে উঠুক, যাতে তোমাদের সংখ্যা না কমে।
7 And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.
৭সেই শহরে শান্তির খোঁজ কর যেখানে আমার কারণে তোমরা নির্বাসিত হয়েছ এবং আমার পক্ষে মধ্যস্থতা কর, কারণ যদি সেই শহর শান্তিতে থাকে তবে তোমরাও শান্তিতে থাকবে।
8 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, and your southsayers that bee among you, deceiue you, neither giue eare to your dreames, which you dreame.
৮কারণ বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকা ভাববাদীরা এবং তোমাদের গণকেরা তোমাদের প্রতারিত না করুক এবং তোমরা নিজেরা যে স্বপ্ন দেখ, তাতে কান দিও না।
9 For they prophecie you a lie in my Name: I haue not sent them, saith the Lord.
৯কারণ তারা আমার নামে মিথ্যা ভাববাণী করে। আমি তাদের পাঠাই নি। এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
10 But thus saith the Lord, That after seuentie yeeres be accomplished at Babel, I will visite you, and performe my good promise toward you, and cause you to returne to this place.
১০কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যখন বাবিল তোমাদের উপর সত্তর বছর শাসন করেছে, আমি তোমাদের সাহায্য করব এবং তোমাদের এই জায়গায় ফিরিয়ে এনে আমার মঙ্গল জনক বাক্য পূর্ণ করব।
11 For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
১১তোমাদের জন্য আমার পরিকল্পনার কথা আমি নিজেই জানি এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা তোমাদের শান্তির জন্য পরিকল্পনা, ক্ষতির জন্য নয়; যা তোমাদের একটি ভবিষ্যত ও আশা দেবে।
12 Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you,
১২তখন তোমরা আমাকে ডাকবে, আসবে ও আমার কাছে প্রার্থনা করবে এবং আমি তোমাদের কথা শুনব।
13 And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.
১৩কারণ তোমরা আমার খোঁজ করবে ও আমাকে খুঁজে পাবে, যেহেতু তোমরা আমাকে তোমাদের হৃদয় দিয়ে খোঁজ করবে।
14 And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
১৪তখন তোমাদের মাধ্যমে আমার খোঁজ পাওয়া যাবে এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, আমি তোমাদের বন্দীদশা থেকে ফিরিয়ে আনব এবং সমস্ত জাতির কাছ থেকে একত্রিত করব ও যেখানে আমি তোমাদের ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলাম সেখান স্থাপন করব এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, আমার কারণে যেখান থেকে তোমরা নির্বাসিত হয়েছিলে, সেখানে তোমাদের কে ফিরিয়ে আনব।
15 Because ye haue sayd, The Lord hath raised vs vp Prophets in Babel,
১৫যেহেতু তোমরা বলেছ যে, সদাপ্রভু বাবিলে আমাদের জন্য ভাববাদীদের তুলেছেন,
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the King, that sitteth vpon the throne of Dauid, and of all the people, that dwell in this citie, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captiuitie:
১৬সদাপ্রভু সেই রাজাকে, যে দায়ূদের সিংহাসনে বসেন এবং এই শহরে বসবাসকারী লোকেরা, তোমার ভাইয়েরা যারা তোমাদের সাথে বন্দী হয়নি তাদের এই কথা বলেন
17 Euen thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will sende vpon them the sworde, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figges, that cannot bee eaten, they are so naughtie.
১৭বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, দেখ, আমি তাদের উপর তরোয়াল, দূর্ভিক্ষ ও অসুখ পাঠাব। কারণ আমি তাদের এমন পচা ডুমুরের মত করব যেটি খেতেও খুব খারাপ।
18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence: and I will make them a terror to all kingdomes of the earth, and a curse, and astonishment and an hissing, and a reproche among all the nations whither I haue cast them,
১৮আমি তরোয়াল, দূর্ভিক্ষ ও মহামারী নিয়ে তাদের খোঁজ করব এবং পৃথিবীর সমস্ত রাজ্যের কাছে তাদের ভয়ের পাত্র করে তুলব সমস্ত জাতির কাছে একটি ভীতি, একটি অভিশপ্ত, শিশ শব্দের এবং একটি লজ্জার পাত্র, যেখানে আমি তাকে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলাম।
19 Because they haue not hearde my words, saith the Lord, which I sent vnto them by my seruantes the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending them, but yee woulde not heare, saith the Lord.
১৯এর কারণ হল, তারা আমার কথা শোনে না, এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, আমি তাদের আমার দাস ভাববাদীদের মাঝে পাঠিয়েছি। আমি বার বার তাদের পাঠিয়েছি, কিন্তু তোমরা শোনো নি এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
20 Heare ye therefore the word of the Lord all ye of the captiuitie, whome I haue sent from Ierusalem to Babel.
২০সেইজন্য তোমরা নিজেরা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোন, তোমরা সমস্ত নির্বাসিতরা, যাদের তিনি যিরূশালেম থেকে বাবিলে পাঠিয়েছেন:
21 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, of Ahab the sonne of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the sonne of Maaseiah, which prophecie lyes vnto you in my Name, Beholde, I will deliuer them into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
২১আমি, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর কোলায়ের ছেলে আহাব ও মাসেয়ের ছেলে সিদিকিয়, যারা আমার নামে তোমাদের কাছে মিথ্যা ভাববাণী করে, তাদের সম্মন্ধে এই কথা বলি: দেখ, আমি বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরের হাতে তাদের সমর্পণ করব। সে তোমাদের চোখের সামনেই তাদের হত্যা করবে।
22 And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire,
২২তখন বাবিলে যিহূদার যে সমস্ত বন্দী লোক আছে, তাদের মাধ্যমে সেই লোকেদের একটি অভিশাপের কথা বলা হবে। অভিশাপটি হবে, সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে সিদিকিয় ও আহাবের মত করুন, যাদের বাবিলের রাজা আগুনে পুড়িয়েছিলেন।
23 Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.
২৩তারা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মধ্যে যে লজ্জাজনক কাজ করেছে; তারা প্রতিবেশীর স্ত্রীদের সঙ্গে ব্যভিচার করেছে এবং তারা আমার নামে সেই সব মিথ্যা কথা বলেছে, আমি তাদের যা বলতে বলি নি; এর কারণেই এই সব ঘটবে। কারণ একমাত্র আমিই জানি; আমি তার সাক্ষী। এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
24 Thou shalt also speake to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
২৪নিহিলামীয় শময়িয়র বিষয়ে এই কথা বলেন,
25 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy Name vnto all the people, that are at Ierusalem, and to Zephaniah the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, and to all the Priests, saying,
২৫বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেন, তুমি নিজের নামে যিরূশালেমের সব লোকদের কাছে, মাসেয়ের ছেলে যাজক সফনিয়ের কাছে এবং অন্য সমস্ত যাজকদের কাছে চিঠি পাঠিয়েছ এবং বলেছ,
26 The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.
২৬সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে যিহোয়াদায় যাজক বানিয়েছেন, যাতে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের অধ্যক্ষ হতে পারো। যদি সমস্ত লোকেদের মধ্যে কোন ব্যক্তি পাগল হয়ে নিজেকে ভাববাদী বলে, তবে সে তোমার নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকবে। তুমি তাকে কারাগারে শেকল দিয়ে আটকে রাখবে।
27 Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?
২৭তাই এখন, অনাথোতীর যিরমিয় যে তোমার বিরুদ্ধে নিজেকে ভাববাদী বলে, তাকে তুমি তিরস্কার করো নি কেন?
28 For, for this cause hee sent vnto vs in Babel, saying, This captiuitie is long: buyld houses to dwell in, and plant gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
২৮কারণ সে বাবিলে আমাদের কাছে এটা বলে পাঠিয়েছে যে, অনেক দিন লাগবে। তাই বাড়ি তৈরী কর ও সেখানে বাস কর, বাগান চাষ কর এবং তার ফল খাও।
29 And Zephaniah the Priest red this letter in the eares of Ieremiah the Prophet.
২৯যাজক সফনিয় সেই চিঠিটি ভাববাদী যিরমিয়ের কাছে পড়লেন।
30 Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
৩০তখন সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে এল ও বলল,
31 Send to all them of the captiuitie, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah hath prophecied vnto you, and I sent him not, and hee caused you to trust in a lye,
৩১“তুমি সমস্ত নির্বাসিতদের কাছে এই খবর পাঠাও, নিহিলামীয় শময়িয়ের বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘আমি শময়িয়কে তোমাদের কাছে না পাঠালেও, সে তোমাদের কাছে ভাববাণী করেছে; সে মিথ্যা কথায় তোমাদের বিশ্বাস করিয়েছে’।
32 Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Behold, I wil visite Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seede: hee shall not haue a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he beholde the good, that I will doe for my people, sayth the Lord, because he hath spoken rebelliously against the Lord.
৩২সেইজন্য সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘দেখ, আমি নিহিলামীয় শময়িয় ও তার বংশধরদের শাস্তি দেব। এই জাতির মধ্যে তার কেউ থাকবে না। আমি আমার প্রজাদের যে মঙ্গল করব, তা সে দেখতে পাবে না’ এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, ‘কারণ সে আমি, সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে অবিশ্বস্ততার কথা প্রচার করেছে’।”
