Jeremiah 27
1 In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah came this worde vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
Mwanzoni mwa utawala wa Yehoyakimu mwana wa Yosia mfalme wa Yuda, neno hili lilimjia Yeremia kutoka kwa Bwana:
2 Thus saith the Lord to me, Make thee bonds, and yokes, and put them vpon thy necke,
Hili ndilo Bwana aliloniambia: “Tengeneza nira, ujivike shingoni mwako, uifunge kwa kamba za ngozi.
3 And send them to the King of Edom, and to the King of Moab, and to the King of the Ammonites, and to the King of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hande of the messengers which come to Ierusale vnto Zedekiah ye king of Iudah,
Kisha utume ujumbe kwa wafalme wa Edomu, Moabu, Amoni, Tiro na Sidoni kupitia wajumbe ambao wamekuja Yerusalemu kwa Sedekia mfalme wa Yuda.
4 And commande them to saye vnto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say vnto your masters,
Wape ujumbe kwa ajili ya mabwana zao na uwaambie: Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, Mungu wa Israeli: ‘Waambieni hivi mabwana zenu:
5 I haue made the earth, the man, and the beast that are vpon the groud, by my great power, and by my outstreched arme, and haue giuen it vnto whom it pleased me.
Kwa uwezo wangu mkuu na kwa mkono wangu ulionyooshwa nimeumba dunia na watu wake na wanyama walioko ndani yake, nami humpa yeyote inipendezavyo.
6 But nowe I haue giuen all these landes into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and the beastes of the fielde haue I also giuen him to serue him.
Sasa nitazitia nchi zenu zote mkononi mwa mtumishi wangu Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli, na nitawafanya hata wanyama wa mwituni wamtumikie.
7 And all nations shall serue him, and his sonne, and his sonnes sonne vntill the very time of his lande come also: then many nations and great Kinges shall serue themselues of him.
Mataifa yote yatamtumikia yeye, pamoja na mwanawe na mwana wa mwanawe, hadi wakati wa nchi yake utakapowadia, kisha mataifa mengi na wafalme wenye nguvu nyingi watamshinda.
8 And the nation and kingdome which will not serue the same Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel, and that will not put their necke vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, the same nation will I visite, saith the Lord, with the sworde, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, vntill I haue wholy giuen them into his hands.
“‘“Lakini kama kukiwa na taifa lolote au ufalme ambao hautamtumikia Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli, ama kuinamisha shingo yake chini ya nira yake, nitaliadhibu taifa hilo kwa upanga, njaa na tauni, asema Bwana, mpaka nitakapoliangamiza taifa hilo kwa mkono wake.
9 Therefore heare not your prophets nor your southsayers, nor your dreamers, nor your inchanters, nor your sorcerers, which say vnto you thus, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel.
Kwa hiyo msiwasikilize manabii wenu, waaguzi wenu, waota ndoto wenu, watabiri na wachawi wanaowaambia ninyi: Hamtamtumikia mfalme wa Babeli.
10 For they prophecie a lie vnto you to cause you to goe farre from your lande, and that I should cast you out, and you should perish.
Wanawatabiria uongo ambao utawafanya ninyi mhamishwe mbali kutoka nchi yenu. Nitawafukuzia mbali, nanyi mtaangamia.
11 But the nation that put their neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him, those wil I let remaine stil in their owne land, saith the Lord, and they shall occupie it, and dwel therein.
Lakini ikiwa taifa lolote litainama na kuweka shingo lake katika nira ya mfalme wa Babeli na kumtumikia, nitaliacha taifa hilo katika nchi yake yenyewe ili wailime na kuishi humo, asema Bwana.”’”
12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of Iudah according to all these wordes, saying, Put your neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him and his people, that ye may liue.
Nilitoa ujumbe huo huo kwa Sedekia mfalme wa Yuda. Nilisema, “Ingiza shingo yako katika nira ya mfalme wa Babeli, umtumikie yeye na watu wake, nawe utaishi.
13 Why will ye dye, thou, and thy people by the sworde, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation, that will not serue the King of Babel?
Kwa nini wewe na watu wako mfe kwa upanga, njaa na tauni, ambazo Bwana ameonya juu ya taifa lolote ambalo halitamtumikia mfalme wa Babeli?
14 Therefore heare not the words of the prophets, that speake vnto you, saying, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel: for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
Msiyasikilize maneno ya manabii wanaowaambia kwamba, ‘Hamtamtumikia mfalme wa Babeli,’ kwa sababu wanawatabiria uongo.
15 For I haue not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophecie a lie in my name, that I might cast you out, and that ye might perish, both you, and the prophets that prophecie vnto you.
‘Sikuwatuma hao,’ asema Bwana. ‘Wanatabiri uongo kwa jina langu. Kwa hiyo, nitawafukuzia mbali, nanyi mtaangamia, ninyi pamoja na manabii wanaowatabiria.’”
16 Also I spake to the Priests, and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Heare not the wordes of your prophets that prophecie vnto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall nowe shortly be brought againe from Babel, for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
Kisha nikawaambia makuhani na watu hawa wote, “Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: Msiwasikilize manabii wanaosema, ‘Hivi karibuni sana vyombo vya nyumba ya Bwana vitarudishwa kutoka Babeli.’ Wanawatabiria ninyi uongo.
17 Heare them not, but serue the King of Babel, that ye may liue: wherefore shoulde this citie be desolate?
Msiwasikilize. Mtumikieni mfalme wa Babeli, nanyi mtaishi. Kwa nini mji huu uwe magofu?
18 But if they be Prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them intreate the Lord of hostes, that the vessels, which are left in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem, go not to Babel.
Kama wao ni manabii na wanalo neno la Bwana, basi na wamsihi Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote ili vyombo vilivyobaki katika nyumba ya Bwana na katika jumba la kifalme la mfalme wa Yuda na katika Yerusalemu visipelekwe Babeli.
19 For thus saith the Lord of hostes, concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remaine in this citie,
Kwa maana hili ndilo asemalo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote kuhusu zile nguzo, ile Bahari, vile vishikizo viwezavyo kuhamishika, vinara na vyombo vingine vilivyoachwa katika mji huu,
20 Which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel tooke not, when he caryed away captiue Ieconiah the sonne of Iehoiakim King of Iudah from Ierusalem to Babel, with all the nobles of Iudah and Ierusalem.
ambavyo Nebukadneza mfalme wa Babeli hakuvichukua wakati alipomchukua Yekonia mwana wa Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda kwenda uhamishoni huko Babeli kutoka Yerusalemu, pamoja na wakuu wote wa Yuda na Yerusalemu.
21 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remaine in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem,
Naam, hili ndilo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, Mungu wa Israeli, asemalo kuhusu vitu ambavyo vimebaki ndani ya nyumba ya Bwana, na ndani ya jumba la kifalme la mfalme wa Yuda, na katika Yerusalemu:
22 They shall be brought to Babel, and there they shalbe vntil the day that I visite them, saith the Lord: then will I bring them vp, and restore them vnto this place.
‘Vitachukuliwa kupelekwa Babeli, nako huko vitabaki mpaka siku nitakayovijilia,’ asema Bwana. ‘Kisha nitavirudisha na kuvirejesha mahali hapa.’”
