Jeremiah 27
1 In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah came this worde vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
Au commencement du règne de Joakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, cette parole fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de Yahweh:
2 Thus saith the Lord to me, Make thee bonds, and yokes, and put them vpon thy necke,
Ainsi m’a parlé Yahweh: Fais-toi des liens et des jougs, et mets-les sur ton cou.
3 And send them to the King of Edom, and to the King of Moab, and to the King of the Ammonites, and to the King of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hande of the messengers which come to Ierusale vnto Zedekiah ye king of Iudah,
Puis envoie-les au roi d’Édom, au roi de Moab, au roi des enfants d’Ammon, au roi de Tyr et au roi de Sidon, par l’intermédiaire des ambassadeurs qui sont venus à Jérusalem auprès de Sédécias, roi de Juda.
4 And commande them to saye vnto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say vnto your masters,
Donne-leur un message pour leurs maîtres, en ces termes: Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées, Dieu d’Israël: Voici ce que vous direz à vos maîtres:
5 I haue made the earth, the man, and the beast that are vpon the groud, by my great power, and by my outstreched arme, and haue giuen it vnto whom it pleased me.
C’est moi qui, par ma puissance et par mon bras étendu, ai fait la terre, l’homme et les animaux qui sont sur la face de la terre, et je la donne à qui il me plaît.
6 But nowe I haue giuen all these landes into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and the beastes of the fielde haue I also giuen him to serue him.
Et maintenant, moi j’ai donné toutes ces contrées aux mains de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur; je lui ai donné même les animaux des champs pour qu’ils le servent.
7 And all nations shall serue him, and his sonne, and his sonnes sonne vntill the very time of his lande come also: then many nations and great Kinges shall serue themselues of him.
Toutes les nations lui seront assujetties, à lui, à son fils et au fils de son fils, jusqu’à ce que vienne le temps de son pays, à lui aussi, et que des nations nombreuses et de grands rois l’assujettissent.
8 And the nation and kingdome which will not serue the same Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel, and that will not put their necke vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, the same nation will I visite, saith the Lord, with the sworde, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, vntill I haue wholy giuen them into his hands.
La nation et le royaume qui ne se soumettront pas à lui, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et qui ne mettront pas leur cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone, cette nation, je la visiterai par l’épée, par la famine et par la peste, — oracle de Yahweh, — jusqu’à ce que je l’achève par sa main.
9 Therefore heare not your prophets nor your southsayers, nor your dreamers, nor your inchanters, nor your sorcerers, which say vnto you thus, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel.
Et vous, n’écoutez pas vos prophètes, ni vos devins, ni vos songes, ni vos augures, ni vos magiciens, qui vous disent: « Vous ne serez pas assujettis au roi de Babylone. »
10 For they prophecie a lie vnto you to cause you to goe farre from your lande, and that I should cast you out, and you should perish.
Car c’est le mensonge qu’ils vous prophétisent, pour qu’on vous éloigne de votre pays, pour que je vous chasse et que vous périssiez.
11 But the nation that put their neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him, those wil I let remaine stil in their owne land, saith the Lord, and they shall occupie it, and dwel therein.
Mais la nation qui mettra son cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone, et le servira, je la laisserai en repos dans son pays, — oracle de Yahweh; elle le cultivera et y demeurera.
12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of Iudah according to all these wordes, saying, Put your neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him and his people, that ye may liue.
Et à Sédécias, roi de Juda, je parlai selon toutes ces paroles, en disant: Mettez vos cous sous le joug du roi de Babylone; servez-le, lui et son peuple, et vous vivrez.
13 Why will ye dye, thou, and thy people by the sworde, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation, that will not serue the King of Babel?
Pourquoi mourriez-vous, toi et ton peuple, par l’épée, par la famine et par la peste, comme Yahweh l’a dit de la nation qui ne voudra pas servir le roi de Babylone?
14 Therefore heare not the words of the prophets, that speake vnto you, saying, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel: for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
N’écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes qui vous disent: « Vous ne serez point assujettis au roi de Babylone. » Car c’est le mensonge qu’ils vous prophétisent.
15 For I haue not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophecie a lie in my name, that I might cast you out, and that ye might perish, both you, and the prophets that prophecie vnto you.
Car je ne les ai point envoyés, — oracle de Yahweh, — et ils prophétisent faussement en mon nom, afin que je vous chasse et que vous périssiez, vous et les prophètes qui vous prophétisent.
16 Also I spake to the Priests, and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Heare not the wordes of your prophets that prophecie vnto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall nowe shortly be brought againe from Babel, for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
Et aux prêtres et à tout ce peuple je parlerai en ces termes: Ainsi parle Yahweh: N’écoutez pas les paroles de vos prophètes qui vous prophétisent en ces termes: « Voici que les ustensiles de la maison de Yahweh seront bientôt ramenés de Babylone. » Car c’est le mensonge qu’ils vous prophétisent.
17 Heare them not, but serue the King of Babel, that ye may liue: wherefore shoulde this citie be desolate?
Ne les écoutez pas; soumettez-vous au roi de Babylone, et vous vivrez. Pourquoi cette ville serait-elle réduite en solitude?
18 But if they be Prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them intreate the Lord of hostes, that the vessels, which are left in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem, go not to Babel.
S’ils sont prophètes, si la parole de Yahweh est avec eux, qu’ils intercèdent auprès de Yahweh des armées pour que les ustensiles qui sont restés dans la maison de Yahweh, dans celle des rois de Juda et à Jérusalem, ne s’en aillent pas à Babylone!
19 For thus saith the Lord of hostes, concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remaine in this citie,
Car ainsi parle Yahweh des armées au sujet des colonnes, de la mer, des bases et des autres ustensiles qui sont restés dans cette ville,
20 Which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel tooke not, when he caryed away captiue Ieconiah the sonne of Iehoiakim King of Iudah from Ierusalem to Babel, with all the nobles of Iudah and Ierusalem.
que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, n’a pas pris, lorsqu’il a emmené captifs de Jérusalem à Babylone Jéchonias, fils de Joakim, roi de Juda, et tous les grands de Juda et de Jérusalem.
21 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remaine in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem,
Car ainsi parle Yahweh des armées, Dieu d’Israël, au sujet des ustensiles qui restent dans la maison de Yahweh, dans la maison du roi de Juda et à Jérusalem:
22 They shall be brought to Babel, and there they shalbe vntil the day that I visite them, saith the Lord: then will I bring them vp, and restore them vnto this place.
Ils seront emportés à Babylone, et ils y resteront jusqu’au jour où je les visiterai, — oracle de Yahweh, — et je les ferai remonter et revenir dans ce lieu.
