Jeremiah 26
1 In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, came this worde from the Lord, saying,
No início do reinado de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, esta palavra veio de Javé:
2 Thus saith the Lord, Sande in the court of the Lordes House, and speake vnto all the cities of Iudah, which come to worshippe in the Lords House, all the wordes that I commaund thee to speake vnto them: keepe not a worde backe,
“Yahweh diz: 'Fique na corte da casa de Yahweh, e fale a todas as cidades de Judá que vêm para adorar na casa de Yahweh, todas as palavras que eu lhe ordeno que fale com eles. Não omitam uma palavra.
3 If so be they will hearken, and turne euery man from his euill way, that I may repent me of the plague, which I haue determined to bring vpon them, because of the wickednesse of their workes.
Talvez eles ouçam, e cada homem se volte de seu mau caminho, para que eu me arrependa do mal que pretendo fazer com eles por causa do mal de seus atos”.
4 And thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, If ye will not heare me to walke in my Lawes, which I haue set before you,
Dir-lhes-eis: “Javé diz: 'Se não me escutardes, para andardes na minha lei que vos apresentei,
5 And to heare ye wordes of my seruants the Prophets, whome I sent vnto you, both rising vp earely, and sending them, and will not obey them,
para escutardes as palavras dos meus servos, os profetas que vos envio, mesmo que se levantem cedo e os enviem - mas não ouvistes -
6 Then will I make this House like Shiloh, and will make this citie a curse to all the nations of the earth.
então farei desta casa como Shiloh, e farei desta cidade uma maldição para todas as nações da terra'”.
7 So the Priestes, and the Prophets, and all the people heard Ieremiah speaking these wordes in the House of the Lord.
Os sacerdotes, os profetas e todo o povo ouviram Jeremias falar estas palavras na casa de Iavé.
8 Nowe when Ieremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speake vnto all the people, then the Priestes, and the prophets, and all the people tooke him, and saide, Thou shalt die the death.
Quando Jeremias terminou de falar tudo o que Iavé lhe ordenara que falasse a todo o povo, aos sacerdotes e profetas e a todo o povo o agarraram, dizendo: “Certamente morrereis!
9 Why hast thou prophecied in the Name of the Lord, saying, This House shall be like Shiloh, and this citie shalbe desolate without an inhabitant? and all the people were gathered against Ieremiah in the House of the Lord.
Por que você profetizou em nome de Javé, dizendo: “Esta casa será como Shiloh, e esta cidade será desolada, sem habitantes”? Todas as pessoas estavam lotadas ao redor de Jeremias na casa de Yahweh.
10 And when the princes of Iudah heard of these things, they came vp from the Kings house into the House of the Lord, and sate downe in the entrie of the new gate of the Lords House.
Quando os príncipes de Judá ouviram estas coisas, eles subiram da casa do rei para a casa de Iavé; e sentaram-se na entrada do novo portão da casa de Iavé.
11 Then spake the Priestes, and the prophets vnto the princes, and to all the people, saying, This man is worthie to die: for he hath prophecied against this citie, as ye haue heard with your eares.
Então os sacerdotes e os profetas falaram aos príncipes e a todo o povo, dizendo: “Este homem é digno de morte, pois profetizou contra esta cidade, como vocês ouviram com seus ouvidos”.
12 Then spake Ieremiah vnto all the princes, and to al the people, saying, The Lord hath sent me to prophecie against this house and against this citie all the things that ye haue heard.
Então Jeremias falou a todos os príncipes e a todo o povo, dizendo: “Javé me enviou para profetizar contra esta casa e contra esta cidade todas as palavras que vocês ouviram.
13 Therefore nowe amende your wayes and your workes, and heare the voyce of the Lord your God, that the Lord may repent him of the plague, that he hath pronounced against you.
Agora, portanto, modifique seus caminhos e seus feitos, e obedeça a Yahweh a voz de seu Deus; então Yahweh se arrependerá do mal que ele pronunciou contra você.
14 As for me, beholde, I am in your hands: do with me as ye thinke good and right.
Mas quanto a mim, eis que estou em suas mãos. Fazei comigo o que é bom e correto aos vossos olhos.
15 But knowe ye for certaine, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood vpon your selues, and vpon this citie, and vpon the inhabitants thereof: for of a trueth the Lord hath sent me vnto you, to speake all these words in your eares.
Saiba apenas com certeza que, se me matar, trará sangue inocente sobre si mesmo, sobre esta cidade e sobre seus habitantes; pois, na verdade, Javé me enviou a você para dizer todas estas palavras aos seus ouvidos”.
16 Then saide the princes and all the people vnto the Priestes, and to the prophets, This man is not worthie to die: for he hath spoken vnto vs in the Name of the Lord our God.
Então os príncipes e todo o povo disseram aos sacerdotes e aos profetas: “Este homem não é digno de morte; pois nos falou em nome de Javé, nosso Deus”.
17 Then rose vp certaine of the Elders of the lande, and spake to all the assemblie of the people, saying,
Então alguns dos anciãos da terra se levantaram, e falaram a toda a assembléia do povo, dizendo:
18 Michah the Morashite prophecied in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and spake to al the people of Iudah, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Zion shall be plowed like a fielde, and Ierusalem shalbe an heape, and the mountaine of the House shalbe as the hie places of the forest.
“Miquéias, o morastita, profetizou nos dias de Ezequias, rei de Judá; e falou a todo o povo de Judá, dizendo: 'Javé dos Exércitos diz: 'Javé dos Exércitos diz “'Zion será arado como um campo, e Jerusalém se tornará montões de lixo, e a montanha da casa como os lugares altos de uma floresta”.
19 Did Hezekiah King of Iudah, and all Iudah put him to death? did he not feare ye Lord, and prayed before the Lord, and the Lord repented him of the plague, that he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great euill against our soules.
Ezequias, rei de Judá, e todo Judá o mataram? Ele não temeu a Iavé e suplicou o favor de Iavé, e Iavé se arrependeu do desastre que ele havia pronunciado contra eles? Cometeríamos um grande mal contra nossas próprias almas dessa maneira”!
20 And there was also a man that prophecied in the Name of the Lord, one Vriiah the sonne of Shemaiah, of Kiriath-iarem, who prophecied against this citie, and against this lande, according to all the wordes of Ieremiah.
Havia também um homem que profetizou em nome de Javé, Urias, filho de Semaías de Kiriath Jearim; e profetizou contra esta cidade e contra esta terra de acordo com todas as palavras de Jeremias.
21 Nowe when Iehoiakim the King with all his men of power, and all the princes heard his wordes, the King sought to slay him. But when Vriiah heard it, he was afraide and fled, and went into Egypt.
Quando o rei Jeoiaquim, com todos os seus poderosos e todos os príncipes ouviram suas palavras, o rei tentou matá-lo; mas quando Urias o ouviu, teve medo e fugiu, e foi para o Egito.
22 Then Iehoiakim the King sent men into Egypt, euen Elnathan the sonne of Achbor, and certaine with him into Egypt.
Então o rei Jeoiaquim enviou Elnatã, filho de Achbor, e alguns homens com ele para o Egito.
23 And they fet Vriiah out of Egypt, and brought him vnto Iehoiakim the King, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead bodie into the graues of the children of the people.
Eles tiraram Urias do Egito e o levaram ao rei Jeoiaquim, que o matou com a espada e lançou seu corpo morto nos túmulos do povo comum.
24 But the hande of Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan was with Ieremiah that they shoulde not giue him into the hande of the people to put him to death.
Mas a mão de Ahikam, o filho de Shaphan, estava com Jeremias, de modo que não o entregaram na mão do povo para o condenar à morte.
