Jeremiah 25
1 The word that came to Ieremiah, concerning all the people of Iudah in the fourth yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah that was in the first yeere of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel:
Dette er det ord som kom til Jeremias om hele Judas folk i Judas konge Jojakims, Josias' sønns fjerde år, det er Babels konge Nebukadnesars første år,
2 The which Ieremiah the Prophet spake vnto all the people of Iudah, and to all the inhabitants of Ierusalem, saying,
og som profeten Jeremias talte til hele Judas folk og til alle Jerusalems innbyggere:
3 From the thirteenth yeere of Iosiah the sonne of Amon King of Iudah, euen vnto this day (that is the three and twentieth yeere) the word of the Lord hath come vnto mee, and I haue spoken vnto you rising earely and speaking, but ye woulde not heare.
Fra Judas konge Josias', Amons sønns trettende år og like til denne dag, nu i tre og tyve år, er Herrens ord kommet til mig, og jeg har talt til eder tidlig og sent, men I hørte ikke.
4 And the Lord hath sent vnto you all his seruantes the Prophets, rising early and sending them, but yee would not heare, nor encline your eares to obey.
Og Herren sendte til eder alle sine tjenere, profetene, tidlig og sent; men I hørte ikke, og I bøide ikke eders øre til å høre.
5 They sayde, Turne againe now euery one from his euill way, and from the wickednes of your inuentions, and ye shall dwell in the lande that the Lord hath giuen vnto you, and to your fathers for euer and euer.
Han sa: Vend om, hver fra sin onde vei, og fra eders onde gjerninger! Så skal I få bo i det land Herren gav eder og eders fedre, fra evighet og til evighet.
6 And go not after other gods to serue them and to worshippe them, and prouoke me not to anger with the workes of your hands, and I will not punish you.
Følg ikke andre guder, så I dyrker dem og tilbeder dem, og vekk ikke min harme ved eders henders verk, forat jeg ikke skal gjøre eder noget ondt!
7 Neuerthelesse ye would not heare me, saith the Lord, but haue prouoked mee to anger with the workes of your hands to your owne hurt.
Men I hørte ikke på mig, sier Herren, I vakte min harme ved eders henders verk, til ulykke for eder selv.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes, Because ye haue not heard my wordes,
Derfor sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud, så: Fordi I ikke har hørt på mine ord,
9 Beholde, I will send and take to mee all the families of the North, saith the Lord, and Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and will bring them against this lande, and against the inhabitantes thereof, and against all these nations rounde about, and will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and an hissing, and a continuall desolation.
se, så sender jeg bud og henter alle Nordens folkeslag, sier Herren, og jeg sender bud til Babels konge Nebukadnesar, min tjener, og jeg lar dem komme over dette land og over dets innbyggere og over alle folkeslagene her rundt omkring, og jeg slår dem med bann og gjør dem til en forferdelse og til en spott og deres land til evige ørkener,
10 Moreouer I will take from them the voyce of mirth and the voyce of gladnesse, the voyce of the bridegrome and the voyce of the bride, the noise of the milstones, and the light of the candle.
og jeg lar fryds røst og gledes røst, brudgoms røst og bruds røst, lyd av kvern og lys av lampe bli borte hos dem.
11 And this whole land shalbe desolate, and an astonishment, and these nations shall serue the King of Babel seuentie yeeres.
Og hele dette land skal bli til en ørken, til en ødemark, og disse folkeslag skal tjene Babels konge i sytti år.
12 And when the seuentie yeres are accomplished, I will visite the King of Babel and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquities, euen the land of the Caldeans, and will make it a perpetuall desolation,
Men når sytti år er til ende, da vil jeg hjemsøke kongen i Babel og folket der, sier Herren, for deres misgjernings skyld, og jeg vil hjemsøke kaldeernes land og gjøre det til evige ørkener.
13 And I will bring vpon that lande all my wordes which I haue pronounced against it, euen all that is written in this booke, which Ieremiah hath prophecied against all nations.
Og jeg vil la komme over det land alle de ord som jeg har talt om det, alt det som er skrevet i denne bok, det som Jeremias har profetert om alle folkeslagene.
14 For many nations, and great Kings shall euen serue themselues of them: thus will I recompense them according to their deedes, and according to the workes of their owne handes.
For mange folkeslag og store konger skal gjøre også dem til træler, og jeg vil gjengjelde dem efter deres gjerning og efter deres henders verk.
15 For thus hath the Lord God of Israel spoken vnto me, Take the cuppe of wine of this mine indignation at mine hand, and cause all the nations, to whome I sende thee, to drinke it.
For så sa Herren, Israels Gud, til mig: Ta dette beger med vredesvin av min hånd og gi alle de folk jeg sender dig til, å drikke av det!
16 And they shall drinke, and be moued and be mad, because of the sworde that I will sende among them.
Og de skal drikke og rave og te sig som rasende for det sverd jeg sender iblandt dem.
17 Then tooke I the cup at the Lordes hand, and made all people to drinke, vnto whome the Lord had sent me:
Og jeg tok begeret av Herrens hånd, og jeg gav alle de folk å drikke som Herren hadde sendt mig til:
18 Euen Ierusalem, and the cities of Iudah, and the Kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them desolate, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse, as appeareth this day:
Jerusalem og Judas byer og dets konger og dets høvdinger, for å gjøre dem til en ørken, til en ødemark, til en spott og til en forbannelse, således som det er på denne dag,
19 Pharaoh also, King of Egypt, and his seruants, and his princes, and all his people:
Egyptens konge Farao og hans tjenere og hans høvdinger og hele hans folk
20 And all sortes of people, and all the Kings of the lande of Vz: and all the Kings of the lande of the Philistims, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod:
og alle hans fremmede undersåtter og alle kongene i landet Us og alle kongene i filistrenes land, i Askalon og Gasa og Ekron og det som er tilbake av Asdod,
21 Edom, and Moab, and the Ammonites,
Edom og Moab og Ammons barn
22 And all the Kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the Kings of the Yles, that are beyonde the Sea,
og alle Tyrus' konger og alle Sidons konger og kongene over kystlandet på hin side havet,
23 And Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that dwell in the vttermost corners,
Dedan og Tema og Bus og alle med rundklippet hår
24 And all the Kings of Arabia, and all the Kings of Arabia, that dwell in the desert,
og alle Arabias konger og alle kongene over de fremmede folk som bor i ørkenen,
25 And all the Kings of Zimri, and all the Kings of Elam, and all the Kings of the Medes,
og alle Simris konger og alle Elams konger og alle Medias konger
26 And all the Kings of the North, farre and neere one to another, and all the kingdomes of the worlde, which are vpon the earth, and the king of Sheshach shall drinke after them.
og alle Nordens konger, nær og fjern, den ene med den andre, og alle verdens riker utover hele jorden; og Sesaks konge skal drikke efter dem.
27 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Drinke and bee drunken, and spewe and fall, and rise no more, because of the sworde, which I will sende among you.
Og du skal si til dem: Så sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud, Israels Gud: Drikk og bli drukne og spy og fall og reis eder ikke mere - for det sverd jeg sender iblandt eder!
28 But if they refuse to take the cuppe at thine hande to drinke, then tell them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Ye shall certainely drinke.
Men dersom de ikke vil ta begeret av din hånd og drikke, da skal du si til dem: Så sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud: Drikke skal I.
29 For loe, I beginne to plague the citie, where my Name is called vpon, and shoulde you goe free? Ye shall not goe quite: for I will call for a sword vpon al the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hostes.
For se, den by som er kalt med mitt navn, lar jeg ulykken ramme først, og så skulde I bli ustraffede? Nei, I skal ikke bli ustraffede; for sverd kaller jeg hit over alle dem som bor på jorden, sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud.
30 Therefore prophecie thou against them al these words, and say vnto them, The Lord shall roare from aboue, and thrust out his voyce from his holy habitation: he shall roare vpon his habitation, and crie aloude, as they that presse the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Og du skal profetere for dem alt dette og si til dem: Herren skal brøle fra det høie og la sin røst høre fra sin hellige bolig; ja, brøle skal han over sin beitemark, et skrik lik deres som treder vinpersen, skal han opløfte over alle dem som bor på jorden.
31 The sounde shall come to the endes of the earth: for the Lord hath a controuersie with the nations, and will enter into iudgement with all flesh, and he will giue them that are wicked, to the sworde, saith the Lord.
Bulderet når til jordens ende, for Herren har strid med folkene, han går i rette med alt kjød; de ugudelige overgir han til sverdet, sier Herren.
32 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Behold, a plague shall goe foorth from nation to nation, and a great whirlewinde shalbe raised vp from the coastes of the earth,
Så sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud: Se, ulykke går ut fra folk til folk, og en svær storm reiser sig fra jordens ytterste ende.
33 And the slaine of the Lord shall be at that day, from one ende of the earth, euen vnto the other ende of the earth: they shall not bee mourned, neither gathered nor buried, but shalbe as the dongue vpon the grounde.
Og de som Herren har drept, skal på den dag ligge fra jordens ene ende til den andre; ingen skal gråte over dem, ingen skal samle dem op og begrave dem; til gjødsel utover jorden skal de bli.
34 Howle, ye shepherdes, and crie, and wallowe your selues in the ashes, ye principall of the flocke: for your dayes of slaughter are accomplished, and of your dispersion, and ye shall fall like precious vessels.
Hyl, I hyrder, og skrik og velt eder i støvet, I som er de gjeveste i hjorden! For tiden er kommet da I skal slaktes, og jeg vil adsprede eder, og I skal falle som et kostelig kar,
35 And the flight shall faile from the shepherdes, and the escaping from the principall of the flocke.
og hyrdene skal ikke mere ha noget tilfluktssted, og de gjeveste i hjorden skal ikke finne redning.
36 A voyce of the crye of the shepherdes, and an howling of the principall of the flocke shalbe heard: for the Lord hath destroyed their pasture.
Hør hvorledes hyrdene skriker og de gjeveste i hjorden hyler! For Herren ødelegger deres beite,
37 And the best pastures are destroyed because of the wrath and indignation of the Lord.
og de fredelige enger blir øde for Herrens brennende vrede.
38 He hath forsaken his couert, as the lyon: for their land is waste, because of the wrath of the oppressor, and because of ye wrath of his indignatio.
Som en ung løve går han frem fra sitt skjul; ja, deres land blir til en ødemark for det herjende sverd og for hans brennende vrede.
