Jeremiah 23
1 Woe be vnto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheepe of my pasture, saith the Lord.
Vai de păstorii care nimicesc și împrăștie oile pășunii mele! spune DOMNUL.
2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel vnto the pastors that feede my people, Yee haue scattered my flock and thrust them out, and haue not visited them: beholde, I will visite you for the wickednesse of your works, saith the Lord.
De aceea astfel spune DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel împotriva păstorilor care pasc pe poporul meu: Voi ați împrăștiat oile turmei mele și le-ați alungat și nu le-ați cercetat; iată, eu voi cerceta asupra voastră răutatea facerilor voastre, spune DOMNUL.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my sheepe out of all countreyes, whither I had driuen them, and will bring them againe to their foldes, and they shall growe and encrease.
Și voi aduna rămășița turmei mele din toate țările unde le-am alungat și le voi aduce din nou la staulele lor; și ei vor fi roditori și se vor înmulți.
4 And I will set vp shepheardes ouer them, which shall feede them: and they shall dread no more nor be afraide, neither shall any of them be lacking, saith the Lord.
Și voi pune păstori peste ei care îi vor paște; și nu se vor mai teme, nici nu se vor descuraja și niciunul nu va lipsi, spune DOMNUL.
5 Behold, The dayes come, saith the Lord, that I will raise vnto Dauid a righteous branche, and a King shall reigne, and prosper, and shall execute iudgement, and iustice in the earth.
Iată, vin zilele, spune DOMNUL, când îi voi ridica lui David un Lăstar al Dreptății și un Împărat va domni și va prospera și va face judecată și dreptate pe pământ.
6 In his dayes Iudah shalbe saued, and Israel shall dwell safely, and this is the Name wherby they shall call him, The Lord our righteousnesse.
În zilele lui Iuda va fi salvat și Israel va locui în siguranță; și acesta este numele lui, prin care va fi numit: DOMNUL DREPTATEA NOASTRĂ.
7 Therefore behold, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liueth, which brought vp the children of Israel out of the lande of Egypt,
De aceea, iată, vin zilele, spune DOMNUL, că nu vor mai spune: DOMNUL trăiește, care i-a scos pe copiii lui Israel din țara Egiptului,
8 But the Lord liueth, which brought vp and led the seede of the house of Israel out of the North countrey and from all countryes where I had scattered them, and they shall dwell in their owne lande.
Ci: DOMNUL trăiește, care a scos și care a condus sămânța casei lui Israel din țara de la nord și din toate țările în care îi alungasem; și ei vor locui în propria lor țară.
9 Mine heart breaketh within mee, because of the prophets, all my bones shake: I am like a drunken man (and like a man whome wine hath ouercome) for the presence of the Lord and for his holie wordes.
Inima mea este frântă în mine din cauza profeților; toate oasele mele tremură; sunt ca un om beat și ca un om pe care vinul l-a învins, din cauza DOMNULUI și din cauza cuvintelor sfințeniei lui.
10 For the lande is full of adulterers, and because of othes the lande mourneth, the pleasant places of the wildernesse are dried vp, and their course is euill, and their force is not right.
Pentru că țara este plină de adulteri, pentru că din cauza blestemelor țara jelește; locurile plăcute ale pustiei sunt uscate și alergarea lor este rea și forța lor nu este dreaptă.
11 For both the prophet and the Priest doe wickedly: and their wickednesse haue I found in mine House, saith the Lord.
Pentru că deopotrivă profetul și preotul sunt întinați; da, în casa mea am găsit stricăciunea lor, spune DOMNUL.
12 Wherefore their way shalbe vnto them as slipperie wayes in the darknesse: they shalbe driuen foorth and fall therein: for I will bring a plague vpon them, euen the yeere of their visitation, saith the Lord.
Pentru aceea, calea lor va fi pentru ei precum căile alunecoase în întuneric; vor fi alungați și vor cădea pe ea, pentru că voi aduce răul asupra lor, chiar anul cercetării lor, spune DOMNUL.
13 And I haue seene foolishnesse in the prophets of Samaria, that prophecied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to erre.
Și am văzut nebunie în profeții din Samaria; ei au profețit prin Baal și au rătăcit pe poporul meu Israel.
14 I haue seene also in the prophets of Ierusalem filthines: they commit adulterie and walke in lies: they strengthen also the hands of the wicked that none can returne from his wickednesse: they are all vnto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorah.
Am văzut de asemenea în profeții din Ierusalim un lucru groaznic, ei comit adulter și umblă în minciuni, ei întăresc de asemenea mâinile făcătorilor de rău, încât nimeni nu se întoarce de la stricăciunea lui; ei sunt cu toții pentru mine ca Sodoma și locuitorii lui ca Gomora.
15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes concerning the prophets, Beholde, I will feede them with wormewood, and make them drinke the water of gall: for from the prophets of Ierusalem is wickednesse gone forth into all the lande.
De aceea astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor referitor la profeți: Iată, îi voi hrăni cu pelin și îi voi face să bea apă cu fiere, pentru că de la profeții Ierusalimului pângărirea s-a răspândit în toată țara.
16 Thus sayth ye Lord of hosts, Heare not the wordes of the prophets that prophecie vnto you, and teach you vanitie: they speake the vision of their owne heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.
Astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor: Nu dați ascultare la cuvintele profeților care vă profețesc: ei vă fac deșerți; ei vorbesc o viziune a proprii lor inimi și nu din gura DOMNULUI.
17 They say still vnto them that despise mee, The Lord hath sayde, Ye shall haue peace: and they say vnto euery one that walketh after the stubbernesse of his owne heart, No euill shall come vpon you.
Ei încă spun celor care mă disprețuiesc: DOMNUL a spus: Veți avea pace; și spun fiecăruia care umblă după închipuirea inimii lui: Niciun rău nu va veni asupra voastră.
18 For who hath stand in the counsel of the Lord that he hath perceiued and heard his word? Who hath marked his worde and heard it?
Fiindcă cine a stat la sfatul DOMNULUI și a priceput și a auzit cuvântul său? Cine a însemnat cuvântul său și l-a auzit?
19 Beholde, the tempest of the Lord goeth forth in his wrath, and a violent whirlewinde shall fall downe vpon the head of the wicked.
Iată, un vârtej de vânt al DOMNULUI a ieșit în furie, chiar un vârtej de vânt apăsător; acesta va cădea cu apăsare peste capul celor stricați.
20 The anger of the Lord shall not returne vntill he haue executed, and till he haue perfourmed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter dayes ye shall vnderstande it plainely.
Mânia DOMNULUI nu se va întoarce, până nu o va împlini și până nu vor fi împlinite gândurile inimii sale, în zilele de pe urmă voi veți lua aminte la aceasta cu înțelegere.
21 I haue not sent these prophets, sayth the Lord, yet they ranne; I haue not spoken to them, and yet they prophecied.
Eu nu am trimis pe acești profeți, totuși ei au alergat; eu nu le-am vorbit, totuși ei au profețit.
22 But if they had stande in my counsell, and had declared my words to my people, then they should haue turned them from their euill way, and from the wickednesse of their inuentions.
Dar dacă ar fi stat în sfatul meu și ar fi făcut pe poporul meu să asculte cuvintele mele, atunci ei i-ar fi întors de la calea lor rea și de la răutatea facerilor lor.
23 Am I a God at hande, saith the Lord, and not a God farre off?
Sunt eu un Dumnezeu de aproape, spune DOMNUL și nu un Dumnezeu de departe?
24 Can any hide him selfe in secrete places, that I shall not see him, sayth the Lord? Do not I fill heauen and earth, saieth the Lord?
Poate cineva să se ascundă în locuri tainice ca eu să nu îl văd? spune DOMNUL. Nu umplu eu cerul și pământul? spune DOMNUL.
25 I haue heard what the prophets said, that prophecie lies in my Name, saying, I haue dreamed, I haue dreamed.
Am auzit ce au spus profeții, care profețesc minciuni în numele meu, spunând: Am visat, am visat.
26 Howe long? Doe the prophets delite to prophecie lies, euen prophecying the deceit of their owne heart?
Până când va fi aceasta în inima profeților care profețesc minciuni? Da, ei sunt profeți ai înșelăciunii propriii lor inimi;
27 Thinke they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreames, which they tell euery man to his neyghbour, as their forefathers haue forgotten my Name for Baal?
Care gândesc să facă pe poporul meu să uite numele meu prin visurile lor pe care le spune fiecare om aproapelui său, precum părinții lor au uitat numele meu pentru numele lui Baal.
28 The prophet that hath a dreame, let him tell a dreame, and hee that hath my worde, let him speake my worde faithfully: what is the chaffe to the wheate, sayth the Lord?
Profetul care are un vis, să spună el un vis; și cel care are cuvântul meu, să vorbească el cuvântul meu cu credincioșie. Ce este pleava pentru grâu? spune DOMNUL.
29 Is not my word euen like a fire, sayeth the Lord? and like an hammer, that breaketh the stone?
Nu este cuvântul meu ca un foc? spune DOMNUL; și ca un ciocan care sparge stânca în bucăți?
30 Therefore beholde, I will come against the prophets, saieth the Lord, that steale my word euerie one from his neighbour.
De aceea, iată, eu sunt împotriva profeților, spune DOMNUL, care fură, fiecare de la aproapele său, cuvintele mele.
31 Beholde, I will come against the prophets, saith the Lord, which haue sweete tongues, and say, He saith.
Iată, spune DOMNUL, eu sunt împotriva profeților care își folosesc limba și spun: El spune.
32 Beholde, I will come against them that prophecie false dreames, saith the Lord, and doe tell them, and cause my people to erre by their lies, and by their flatteries, and I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they bring no profite vnto this people, saith the Lord.
Iată, spune DOMNUL, eu sunt împotriva celor care profețesc visuri false și care le spun și fac pe poporul meu să rătăcească prin minciunile lor și prin ușurința lor; totuși eu nu i-am trimis, nici nu le-am poruncit; de aceea ei nu vor fi de niciun folos acestui popor, spune DOMNUL.
33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a Priest shall aske thee, saying, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt then say vnto them, What burden? I will euen forsake you, saith the Lord.
Și când acest popor, sau un profet, sau un preot, te va întreba, spunând: Care este povara DOMNULUI? tu atunci să le spui: Ce povară? Eu chiar vă voi părăsi, spune DOMNUL.
34 And the prophet, or the Priest, or the people that shall say, The burden of the Lord, I will euen visite euerie such one, and his house.
Și cât despre profetul și preotul și poporul care va spune: Povara DOMNULUI; eu chiar voi pedepsi pe omul acela și casa lui.
35 Thus shall yee say euery one to his neighbour, and euerie one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and what hath the Lord spoken?
Astfel să spuneți fiecare aproapelui său și fiecare fratelui său: Ce a răspuns DOMNUL? și: Ce a vorbit DOMNUL?
36 And the burden of the Lord shall yee mention no more: for euery mans worde shall bee his burden: for ye haue peruerted the words of the liuing God, the Lord of hostes our God.
Și povara DOMNULUI să nu o mai amintiți; căci cuvântul fiecărui om va fi povara lui, pentru că voi ați pervertit cuvintele Dumnezeului cel viu, ale DOMNULUI oștirilor Dumnezeul nostru.
37 Thus shalt thou say to the Prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and what hath the Lord spoken?
Astfel să spui profetului: Ce ți-a răspuns DOMNUL? și: Ce a vorbit DOMNUL?
38 And if you say, The burden of the Lord, Then thus saith the Lord, Because yee say this word, The burden of the Lord, and I haue sent vnto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the Lord,
Dar deoarece voi spuneți: Povara DOMNULUI; de aceea astfel spune DOMNUL: Pentru că voi spuneți acest cuvânt: Povara DOMNULUI; și eu am trimis la voi, spunând: Să nu spuneți: Povara DOMNULUI;
39 Therefore beholde, I, euen I will vtterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the citie that I gaue you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence,
De aceea, iată, eu, chiar eu, vă voi uita cu totul și vă voi părăsi și cetatea pe care v-am dat-o vouă și părinților voștri; și vă voi arunca afară din prezența mea;
40 And will bring an euerlasting reproche vpon you, and a perpetual shame which shall neuer be forgotten.
Și voi aduce o ocară veșnică asupra voastră, și o rușine veșnică, ce nu vor fi uitate.
