Jeremiah 21
1 The worde which came vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent vnto him Pashur, the sonne of Malchiah, and Zephaniah, the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, saying,
Dies ist das Wort, welches vom HERRN an Jeremia erging, als der König Zedekia den Paschhur, den Sohn Malchijas, und Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, den Priester, zu ihm sandte und ihm sagen ließ:
2 Inquire, I pray thee, of the Lord for vs, (for Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel maketh warre against vs) if so be that the Lord will deale with vs according to all his wonderous workes, that he may returne vp from vs.
Frage doch den HERRN für uns, weil der babylonische König Nebukadnezar Krieg wider uns führt! Vielleicht wird der HERR gemäß allen seinen Wundern so mit uns handeln, daß jener von uns abzieht. Da sprach Jeremia zu ihnen:
3 Then said Ieremiah, Thus shall you say to Zedekiah,
Also sollt ihr dem Zedekia antworten:
4 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I will turne backe the weapons of warre that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the King of Babel, and against the Caldeans, which besiege you without the walles, and I will assemble them into the middes of this citie.
So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will die Kriegswaffen in euren Händen, mit welchen ihr den babylonischen König und die Chaldäer, die euch belagern, außerhalb der Stadtmauern bekämpft, umwenden und mitten in der Stadt versammeln;
5 And I my selfe will fight against you with an outstretched hand, and with a mighty arme, eue in anger and in wrath, and in great indignation.
und ich will selbst wider euch streiten mit ausgereckter Hand und mit starkem Arm, im Zorn und mit Grimm und mit großer Entrüstung,
6 And I will smite the inhabitants of this citie, both man, and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
und will die Bewohner dieser Stadt schlagen, sowohl Menschen als Vieh, durch eine große Pest sollen sie umkommen.
7 And after this, sayeth the Lord, I will deliuer Zedekiah the King of Iudah, and his seruants, and the people, and such as are left in this citie, from the pestilence, from the sworde and from the famine into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and into the hande of their enemies, and into the hande of those that seeke their liues, and he shall smite them with the edge of the sworde: he shall not spare them, neither haue pitie nor compassion.
Und darnach, spricht der HERR, will ich Zedekia, den König von Juda, samt seinen Knechten und den Männern, die in dieser Stadt von der Pest, vom Schwert und von der Hungersnot verschont geblieben sind, in die Hand des babylonischen Königs Nebukadnezar und in die Hand ihrer Feinde und derer, die nach ihrem Leben trachten, übergeben, und er wird sie mit dem Schwerte schlagen und wird kein Mitleid mit ihnen haben und ihrer nicht schonen, noch sich ihrer erbarmen!
8 And vnto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
Und zu diesem Volke sollst du sagen: So spricht der HERR: Sehet, ich lege euch vor den Weg des Lebens und den Weg des Todes:
9 He that abideth in this citie, shall dye by the sword and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Caldeans, that besiege you, he shall liue, and his life shalbe vnto him for a pray.
Wer in dieser Stadt bleibt, der wird entweder durchs Schwert, oder vor Hunger, oder an der Pest sterben; wer aber hinausgeht und zu den Chaldäern überläuft, die euch belagern, der wird leben und seine Seele als Beute davontragen.
10 For I haue set my face against this citie, for euill and not for good, saith the Lord: it shalbe giuen into the hande of the King of Babel, and he shall burne it with fire.
Denn ich habe mein Angesicht wider diese Stadt gerichtet zum Bösen und nicht zum Guten, spricht der HERR; in die Hände des babylonischen Königs wird sie gegeben und mit Feuer verbrannt werden.
11 And say vnto the house of the King of Iudah, Heare ye the worde of the Lord.
Und zum Hause des Königs von Juda [sollst du sagen]: Höre das Wort des HERRN, du Haus Davids!
12 O house of Dauid, thus saith the Lord, Execute iudgement in the morning, and deliuer the oppressed out of the hande of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire and burne, that none can quench it, because of the wickednes of your workes.
So spricht der HERR: Haltet jeden Morgen ein gerechtes Gericht und rettet den Beraubten von der Hand des Unterdrückers, damit mein grimmiger Zorn nicht ausbreche wie ein Feuer und brenne, daß niemand löschen kann, wegen der Schlechtigkeit eurer Taten!
13 Beholde, I come against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rocke of the plaine, saith the Lord, which say, Who shall come downe against vs? or who shall enter into our habitations?
Siehe, ich will an dich, du Bewohnerin des Tales, des Felsens der Ebene, spricht der HERR, die ihr saget: Wer wollte zu uns herabsteigen, und wer sollte in unsere Wohnungen kommen?
14 But I will visite you according to the fruite of your workes, saith the Lord, and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall deuoure rounde about it.
Ich will euch heimsuchen, wie es eure Taten verdienen, spricht der HERR, und will ein Feuer anzünden in ihrem Wald, das soll ihre ganze Umgebung verzehren.
