Jeremiah 13
1 Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
Yahweh me disse: “Vá, compre um cinto de linho e coloque-o na cintura, e não o coloque na água”.
2 So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
Então eu comprei um cinto de acordo com a palavra de Yahweh e o coloquei na cintura.
3 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
A palavra de Yahweh veio até mim pela segunda vez, dizendo:
4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
“Pegue o cinto que você comprou, que está na sua cintura, e levante-se, vá até o Eufrates, e esconda-o lá em uma fenda da rocha”.
5 So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
Então eu fui e escondi-o junto ao Eufrates, como Yahweh me ordenou.
6 And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
Depois de muitos dias, Javé me disse: “Levante-se, vá ao Eufrates e tire o cinto de lá, que eu lhe ordenei que escondesse lá”.
7 Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
Então fui até o Eufrates, e cavei, e tirei o cinto do lugar onde o havia escondido; e eis que o cinto estava arruinado. Foi rentável por nada.
8 Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Então a palavra de Javé veio até mim, dizendo:
9 Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
“Javé diz: 'Desta forma arruinarei o orgulho de Judá e o grande orgulho de Jerusalém'.
10 This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
Este povo malvado, que se recusa a ouvir minhas palavras, que caminha na teimosia de seu coração, e foi atrás de outros deuses para servi-los e adorá-los, será até mesmo como este cinto, que é proveitoso para nada.
11 For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
Pois enquanto o cinto se agarra à cintura de um homem, assim fiz com que toda a casa de Israel e toda a casa de Judá se apegassem a mim', diz Javé; 'para que eles possam ser para mim um povo, um nome, um louvor e uma glória; mas eles não quiseram ouvir'.
12 Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
“Por isso lhes falará esta palavra: 'Yahweh, o Deus de Israel diz: “Todo recipiente deve ser enchido com vinho”. Eles lhe dirão: 'Não sabemos certamente que cada recipiente deve ser cheio de vinho?
13 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
Então lhes dirão: 'Javé diz: “Eis que encherei de embriaguez todos os habitantes desta terra, até mesmo os reis que se sentam no trono de Davi, os sacerdotes, os profetas e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém'.
14 And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
Eu os colocarei uns contra os outros, até mesmo os pais e os filhos juntos”, diz Yahweh: “Não terei pena, nem pouparei, nem terei compaixão, de não os destruir””.
15 Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
Ouça, e dê ouvidos. Não fique orgulhoso, para Yahweh falou.
16 Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
Dê glória a Yahweh seu Deus, antes que ele cause escuridão, e antes de seus pés tropeçarem nas montanhas escuras, e enquanto você procura por luz, ele a transforma na sombra da morte, e faz com que seja uma escuridão profunda.
17 But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
Mas se você não quiser ouvir, minha alma chorará em segredo por seu orgulho. Meu olho vai chorar amargamente, e se esgota com lágrimas, porque o rebanho de Yahweh foi levado cativo.
18 Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
Diga ao rei e à rainha mãe, “Humilhem-se. Sente-se, pois suas coroas caíram, até mesmo a coroa de sua glória.
19 The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
As cidades do Sul estão fechadas, e não há ninguém para abri-los. Judah é levado em cativeiro: todos eles. Eles são totalmente levados em cativeiro.
20 Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
Levante seus olhos, e ver aqueles que vêm do norte. Onde está o rebanho que foi dado a você, seu belo rebanho?
21 What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
O que você vai dizer quando ele colocar à sua frente aqueles que você mesmo ensinou a serem seus amigos? As tristezas não se apoderam de você, como de uma mulher em trabalho?
22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
Se você diz em seu coração, “Por que essas coisas vieram sobre mim?” Suas saias são descobertas por causa da grandeza de sua iniqüidade, e seus calcanhares sofrem violência.
23 Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
O etíope pode mudar sua pele, ou o leopardo suas manchas? Então, que você também faça o bem, que estão acostumados a fazer o mal.
24 Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
“Portanto, os espalharei como o restolho que passa pelo vento do deserto.
25 This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
Este é o seu lote, a porção medida para você de mim”, diz Yahweh, “porque você se esqueceu de mim”, e confiado na falsidade”.
26 Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
Portanto, também vou desvendar suas saias no rosto, e sua vergonha vai aparecer.
27 I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
Eu vi suas abominações, até mesmo seus adultérios e sua relinchar, a lascívia de sua prostituição, nas colinas do campo. Ai de você, Jerusalém! Você não será limpo. Quanto tempo ainda vai demorar”?
