Jeremiah 13
1 Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
Also sprach der HERR zu mir: Gehe hin und kaufe dir einen leinenen Gürtel und gürte ihn um deine Lenden, bringe ihn aber nicht ins Wasser!
2 So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
Da kaufte ich einen Gürtel nach dem Befehl des HERRN und legte ihn um meine Lenden.
3 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
Darnach sprach der HERR zum zweitenmal zu mir:
4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
Nimm den Gürtel, welchen du gekauft und um deine Lenden gelegt hast, und mache dich auf und ziehe nach dem Euphrat und verbirg ihn daselbst in einer Felsspalte.
5 So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
Also ging ich hin und verbarg ihn am Euphrat, wie mir der HERR befohlen hatte.
6 And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
Nach vielen Tagen sprach der HERR zu mir: Mache dich auf und gehe an den Euphrat und hole daselbst den Gürtel, welchen ich dich daselbst verbergen hieß!
7 Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
Also ging ich hin an den Euphrat und grub auf und nahm den Gürtel von dem Ort, dahin ich ihn verborgen hatte. Und siehe, der Gürtel war verdorben, zu nichts mehr tauglich.
8 Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Da erging das Wort des HERRN an mich also:
9 Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
So spricht der HERR: Gerade so will ich den Stolz Judas und den Stolz Jerusalems, der sehr groß ist, verderben!
10 This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
Dieses Volk ist ein böses Volk; es will meine Worte nicht hören, es wandelt in der Verstocktheit seines Herzens und hängt an den fremden Göttern, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten. Darum soll es werden wie dieser Gürtel, der zu nichts mehr taugt.
11 For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
Denn gleichwie ein Gürtel sich an die Lenden eines Mannes anschließt, also habe ich das ganze Haus Israel und das ganze Haus Juda mir angeschlossen, spricht der HERR, daß sie mein Volk und mir zum Namen und zum Lobe und zur Zierde sein sollten; aber sie haben mir nicht gehorchen wollen.
12 Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
Darum halte ihnen diese Worte vor: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Alle Krüge sollen mit Wein gefüllt werden! Wenn sie dann zu dir sagen werden: Meinst du, wir wissen das nicht, daß alle Krüge mit Wein gefüllt werden sollen? so sage zu ihnen:
13 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich werde alle Einwohner dieses Landes und die Könige, welche auf dem Throne Davids sitzen, und die Priester und die Propheten samt allen Einwohnern Jerusalems mit Trunkenheit füllen und will machen,
14 And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
daß sie sich stoßen, ein Bruder an dem andern und Väter und Söhne gegeneinander, spricht der HERR; ich will ihrer nicht schonen, ich werde kein Mitleid mit ihnen haben und mich ihrer nicht erbarmen, sondern sie umbringen!
15 Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
Höret und merket auf! Seid nicht stolz; denn der HERR redet!
16 Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
Gebt doch dem HERRN, eurem Gott, die Ehre, bevor es dunkel wird und bevor eure Füße sich auf den finstern Bergen stoßen. Ihr werdet auf Licht hoffen, aber er wird es zu Todesschatten machen und in dichte Dunkelheit verwandeln.
17 But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
Wenn ihr aber nicht darauf hören wollt, so wird meine Seele im Verborgenen weinen wegen eures Hochmuts, mein Auge wird unaufhörlich weinen und in Tränen zerfließen, weil die Herde des HERRN gefangen weggeführt wird.
18 Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
Sage dem Könige und der Herrscherin: Setzet euch tief herunter! Denn die Krone eurer Herrlichkeit ist von eurem Haupt gefallen.
19 The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
Die Städte im Süden sind geschlossen und niemand ist, der sie öffnet. Ganz Juda wird gefangen geführt, ja, es wird gänzlich weggeführt werden.
20 Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
Hebet eure Augen auf und beschaut die, welche von Mitternacht herkommen. Wo sind die Schafe, die dir anvertraut wurden, deine prächtige Herde?
21 What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
Was willst du sagen, wenn er deine Buhlen, die du an dich gewöhnt hast, zu Häuptern über dich setzen wird? Werden dich nicht Wehen ankommen wie ein Weib in Kindesnöten?
22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
Und wenn du alsdann in deinem Herzen sprichst: «Warum kommt solches über mich?» Um der Menge deiner Sünden willen werden dir deine Säume aufgedeckt und deine Fersen mit Gewalt entblößt!
23 Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
Kann wohl ein Mohr seine Haut verwandeln, oder ein Leopard seine Flecken? Könnt ihr auch Gutes tun, die ihr gewohnt seid, Böses zu tun?
24 Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
Darum will ich sie zerstreuen wie Stoppeln, die dahinfahren vor dem Wüstenwind.
25 This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
Das wird dein Los sein, dein Teil, das ich dir zumesse, spricht der HERR, weil du meiner vergessen und auf Lügen vertraut hast.
26 Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
Darum will ich auch deine Säume über dein Angesicht hochziehen, daß man deine Schande sehe,
27 I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
deine Ehebrüche, dein Wiehern und deine schändliche Hurerei; denn ich habe auf den Hügeln im Felde deine Greuel gesehen. Wehe dir, Jerusalem! Willst du denn nicht rein werden? Wie lange geht es noch?
