James 1
1 Iames a seruant of God, and of the Lord Iesus Christ, to the twelue Tribes, which are scattered abroade, salutation.
೧ದೇವರಿಗೂ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಗೂ ದಾಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದುರಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಗೋತ್ರದವರಿಗೂ ಬರೆಯುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗಲಿ.”
2 My brethren, count it exceeding ioy, when ye fall into diuers tentations,
೨ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ನಾನಾವಿಧವಾದ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಆನಂದಕರವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಿರಿ.
3 Knowing that ye trying of your faith bringeth forth patience,
೩ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗೆ ಆಗುವ ಪರಿಶೋಧನೆಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಯಿರಿ.
4 And let patience haue her perfect worke, that ye may be perfect and entier, lacking nothing.
೪ಆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಫಲಿಸಲಿ, ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸರ್ವಸುಗುಣಸಂಪನ್ನರೂ, ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣರೂ, ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರೂ ಆಗುವಿರಿ.
5 If any of you lacke wisedome, let him aske of God, which giueth to all men liberally, and reprocheth no man, and it shalbe giuen him.
೫ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗಾದರು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕೊರತೆಯಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಅವರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ, ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರಕುವುದು. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ಹಂಗಿಸದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವಾತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
6 But let him aske in faith, and wauer not: for hee that wauereth, is like a waue of the sea, tost of the winde, and caried away.
೬ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಬಳಿ ಬೇಡುವವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೂ ಸಂದೇಹಪಡದೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ಸಂದೇಹಪಡುವವನು ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಬಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಅಲೆಯಂತೆ ಅತ್ತಿತ್ತ ಅಲೆಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
7 Neither let that man thinke that hee shall receiue any thing of the Lord.
೭ಇಂಥವನು ತಾನು ಕರ್ತನಿಂದ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವೆನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸದೆ ಇರಲಿ.
8 A double minded man is vnstable in all his waies.
೮ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡು ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನು, ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಂಚಲನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
9 Let the brother of lowe degree reioyce in that he is exalted:
೯ದೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಹೋದರನು ತಾನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬಂದೆನೆಂದು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಡಲಿ.
10 Againe hee that is rich, in that hee is made lowe: for as the flower of the grasse, shall he vanish away.
೧೦ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾದ ಸಹೋದರನು ತಾನು ದೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬಂದೆನೆಂದು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಡಲಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೂವಿನಂತೆ ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವನು.
11 For as when the sunne riseth with heate, then the grasse withereth, and his flower falleth away, and the goodly shape of it perisheth: euen so shall the rich man wither away in all his waies.
೧೧ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಡುವ ಬಿಸಿಲಿಗೆ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಬಾಡಿ, ಹೂವು ಉದುರಿ ಅದರ ರೂಪದ ಸೊಗಸು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಂದಿಹೋಗುವನು.
12 Blessed is ye man, that endureth tentation: for when he is tried, hee shall receiue the crowne of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that loue him.
೧೨ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು. ಅವನು ಪರಿಶೋಧಿತನಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಜೀವದ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು.
13 Let no man say when hee is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God can not bee tempted with euill, neither tempteth he any man.
೧೩ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವಾಗ “ಈ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯು ತನಗೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವವನಲ್ಲ. ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ಶೋಧಿಸುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
14 But euery man is tempted, when hee is drawen away by his owne concupiscence, and is entised.
೧೪ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ದುರಾಶೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸೆಳೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಮರುಳುಗೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ ಶೋಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
15 Then when lust hath conceiued, it bringeth foorth sinne, and sinne when it is finished, bringeth foorth death.
೧೫ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ದುರಾಶೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಹೆರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪಾಪವು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಮರಣವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ.
16 Erre not, my deare brethren.
೧೬ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಮೋಸಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ.
17 Euery good giuing, and euery perfect gift is from aboue, and commeth downe from the Father of lights, with whome is no variablenes, neither shadow of turning.
೧೭ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ವರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ವರಗಳು ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದವುಗಳೇ, ಅವು ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಮೂಲಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ; ಆತನು ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ಬದಲಾಗುವವನಲ್ಲ, ಚಂಚಲಚಿತ್ತನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
18 Of his owne will begate hee vs with the woorde of trueth, that we shoulde be as the first fruites of his creatures.
೧೮ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಸುಚಿತ್ತದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸತ್ಯವಾಕ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ಜೀವಕೊಟ್ಟಿವುದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಆತನ ಸರ್ವ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಫಲವಾದೆವು.
19 Wherefore my deare brethren, let euery man be swift to heare, slowe to speake, and slowe to wrath.
೧೯ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಇದನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಚುರುಕಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕೋಪಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರಲಿ.
20 For the wrath of man doeth not accomplish the righteousnesse of God.
೨೦ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡಾಗ ದೇವರು ಬಯಸುವ ನೀತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthinesse, and superfluitie of maliciousnesse, and receiue with meekenes the word that is graffed in you, which is able to saue your soules.
೨೧ಆದಕಾರಣ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೀಚತನವನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನೊಳಗೆ ಬೇರೂರಿರುವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿರಿ. ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
22 And be ye doers of the word, and not hearers onely, deceiuing your owne selues.
೨೨ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯುವವರಾಗಿರಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಕೇಳುವವರು ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ.
23 For if any heare the woorde, and doe it not, he is like vnto a man, that beholdeth his naturall face in a glasse.
೨೩ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಹಜ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಂತಿರುವನು.
24 For when he hath considered himselfe, hee goeth his way, and forgetteth immediately what maner of one he was.
೨೪ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ನೋಡಿ ನಂತರ ತಾನು ಹೀಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಆ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಮರೆತುಬಿಡುವನು.
25 But who so looketh in the perfect Lawe of libertie, and continueth therein, hee not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the woorke, shalbe blessed in his deede.
೨೫ಆದರೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕೊಟ್ಟು ಓದಿ, ಮನನ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವನು ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಮರೆತು ಹೋಗದೆ ಅದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯಿಂದ, ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಧನ್ಯನಾಗುವನು.
26 If any man amog you seeme religious, and refraineth not his tongue, but deceiueth his owne heart, this mans religion is vaine.
೨೬ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸದ್ಭಕ್ತನೆಂದೆಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಹತೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸುವವನಾದರೆ ಅವನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿದೆ.
27 Pure religion and vndefiled before God, euen the Father, is this, to visite the fatherlesse, and widdowes in their aduersitie, and to keepe himselfe vnspotted of the world.
೨೭ಸಂಕಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನೂ, ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಪರಾಂಬರಿಸಿ ತನಗೆ ಇಹಲೋಕದ ದೋಷವು ಹತ್ತದಂತೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧವೂ, ನಿರ್ಮಲವೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಭಕ್ತಿ.
