Isaiah 9

1 Yet the darkenesse shall not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.

۱ لیکن برای او که در تنگی می‌بود، تاریکی نخواهد شد. در زمان پیشین زمین زبولون وزمین نفتالی را ذلیل ساخت، اما در زمان آخر آن را به راه دریا به آن طرف اردن در جلیل امت هامحترم خواهد گردانید.

2 The people that walked in darkenes haue seene a great light: they that dwelled in the land of the shadowe of death, vpon them hath the light shined.

۲ قومی که در تاریکی سالک می‌بودند، نور عظیمی خواهند دید و بر ساکنان زمین سایه موت نور ساطع خواهد شد.

3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased their ioye: they haue reioyced before thee according to the ioye in haruest, and as men reioyce when they deuide a spoyle.

۳ تو قوم را بسیار ساخته، شادی ایشان را زیادگردانیدی. به حضور تو شادی خواهند کرد مثل شادمانی وقت درو و مانند کسانی که در تقسیم نمودن غنیمت وجد می‌نمایند.

4 For the yoke of their burthen, and the staffe of their shoulder and the rod of their oppressour hast thou broken as in the day of Midian.

۴ زیرا که یوغ باراو را و عصای گردنش یعنی عصای جفا کننده وی را شکستی چنانکه در روز مدیان کردی.

5 Surely euery battell of the warriour is with noyse, and with tumbling of garments in blood: but this shall be with burning and deuouring of fire.

۵ زیرا همه اسلحه مسلحان در غوغا است ورخوت ایشان به خون آغشته است اما برای سوختن و هیزم آتش خواهند بود.

6 For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace,

۶ زیرا که برای ما ولدی زاییده و پسری به ما بخشیده شد وسلطنت بر دوش او خواهد بود و اسم او عجیب ومشیر و خدای قدیر و پدر سرمدی و سرورسلامتی خوانده خواهد شد.

7 The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.

۷ ترقی سلطنت وسلامتی او را بر کرسی داود و بر مملکت وی انتهانخواهد بود تا آن را به انصاف و عدالت از الان تاابدالاباد ثابت و استوار نماید. غیرت یهوه صبایوت این را بجا خواهد آورد.

8 The Lord hath sent a worde into Iaakob, and it hath lighted vpon Israel.

۸ خداوند کلامی نزد یعقوب فرستاد و آن براسرائیل واقع گردید.

9 And all the people shall knowe, euen Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and presumption of the heart,

۹ و تمامی قوم خواهنددانست یعنی افرایم و ساکنان سامره که از غرور وتکبر دل خود می‌گویند.

10 The brickes are fallen, but we will build it with hewen stones: the wilde figge trees are cut downe, but we will change them into ceders.

۱۰ خشتها افتاده است امابا سنگهای تراشیده بنا خواهیم نمود؛ چوبهای افراغ در هم شکست اما سرو آزاد بجای آنهامی گذاریم.

11 Neuerthelesse the Lord will raise vp the aduersaries of Rezin against him, and ioyne his enemies together.

۱۱ بنابراین خداوند دشمنان رصین رابضد او خواهد برافراشت و خصمان او را خواهدبرانگیخت.

12 Aram before and the Philistims behinde, and they shall deuoure Israel with open mouth: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

۱۲ ارامیان را از مشرق و فلسطینیان رااز مغرب و ایشان اسرائیل را با دهان گشوده خواهند خورد. اما با این همه خشم او برگردانیده نشده و دست او هنوز دراز است.

13 For the people turneth not vnto him that smiteth them, neither doe they seeke the Lord of hostes.

۱۳ و این قوم بسوی زننده خودشان بازگشت ننموده و یهوه صبایوت را نطلبیده‌اند.

14 Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.

۱۴ بنابراین خداوند سر ودم و نخل و نی را از اسرائیل در یک روز خواهدبرید.

15 The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.

۱۵ مرد پیر و مرد شریف سر است و نبی‌ای که تعلیم دروغ می‌دهد، دم می‌باشد.

16 For the leaders of the people cause them to erre: and they that are led by them are deuoured.

۱۶ زیرا که هادیان این قوم ایشان را گمراه می‌کنند و پیروان ایشان بلعیده می‌شوند.

17 Therefore shall the Lord haue no pleasure in their yong men, neither will he haue compassion of their fatherlesse and of their widowes: for euery one is an hypocrite and wicked, and euery mouth speaketh follie: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out stil.

۱۷ از این سبب خداوند از جوانان ایشان مسرور نخواهد شد و بر یتیمان و بیوه‌زنان ایشان ترحم نخواهد نمود. چونکه جمیع ایشان منافق وشریرند و هر دهانی به حماقت متکلم می‌شود بااینهمه غضب او برگردانیده نشده و دست او هنوزدراز است.

18 For wickednesse burneth as a fire: it deuoureth the briers and the thornes and will kindle in the thicke places of the forest: and they shall mount vp like the lifting vp of smoke.

۱۸ زیرا که شرارت مثل آتش می‌سوزاند و خار و خس را می‌خورد، و دربوته های جنگل افروخته شده، دود غلیظ پیچان می‌شود.

19 By the wrath of the Lord of hostes shall the land be darkened, and the people shall be as the meate of ye fire: no man shall spare his brother.

۱۹ از غضب یهوه صبایوت زمین سوخته شده است و قوم هیزم آتش گشته‌اند و کسی بربرادر خود شفقت ندارد.

20 And he shall snatch at the right hand, and be hungrie: and he shall eate on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied: euery one shall eate ye flesh of his owne arme.

۲۰ از جانب راست می‌ربایند و گرسنه می‌مانند و از طرف چپ می‌خورند و سیر نمی شوند و هرکس گوشت بازوی خود را می‌خورد.

21 Manasseh, Ephraim: and Ephraim Manasseh, and they both shall be against Iudah yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

۲۱ منسی افرایم را وافرایم منسی را و هر دوی ایشان بضد یهودا متحدمی شوند. با اینهمه غضب او برگردانیده نشده ودست او هنوز دراز است.
