Isaiah 9

1 Yet the darkenesse shall not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.

Mahanaw ang kangitngit gikan kaniya nga anaa sa hilabihang kasakit. Kaniadto gipakaulawan niya ang yuta sa Zebulun ug ang yuta sa Neftali, apan sa umaabot nga panahon himoon niya kining mahimayaon, sa dalan paingon sa dagat, tabok sa Jordan, ang Galilea sa mga nasod.

2 The people that walked in darkenes haue seene a great light: they that dwelled in the land of the shadowe of death, vpon them hath the light shined.

Makakita ug dakong kahayag ang katawhan nga naglakaw sa kangitngit; midan-ag ang kahayag kanila, niadtong namuyo sa yuta sa landong sa kamatayon.

3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased their ioye: they haue reioyced before thee according to the ioye in haruest, and as men reioyce when they deuide a spoyle.

Gipadaghan mo ang mga nasod; gidugangan mo ang ilang kalipay. Nagsadya sila sa imong atubangan sama sa kalipay sa panahon sa ting-ani, sama sa kalalakin-an nga nagsadya sa dihang gibahinbahin nila ang inilog.

4 For the yoke of their burthen, and the staffe of their shoulder and the rod of their oppressour hast thou broken as in the day of Midian.

Kay ang yugo sa iyang palas-anon, ang yayongan sa iyang abaga, ang bunal sa iyang tigdaugdaog, gilaglag nimo sama sa adlaw sa Midian.

5 Surely euery battell of the warriour is with noyse, and with tumbling of garments in blood: but this shall be with burning and deuouring of fire.

Kay pagasunogon ang matag sapatos nga gitamak diha sa kagubot ug ang sapot nga nabulitan sa dugo, igasugnod sa kalayo.

6 For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace,

Kay nahimugso ang usa ka bata alang kanato, gihatag alang kanato ang usa ka anak nga lalaki; ug ang pagdumala anaa sa iyang abaga; ug pagatawgon ang iyang ngalan nga Kahibulongang Magtatambag, Gamhanan nga Dios, Walay Kataposang Amahan, Prinsipe sa Kalinaw.

7 The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.

Walay kataposan ang pag-uswag sa iyang panggamhanan ug sa pakigdait, samtang nagdumala siya sa trono ni David, ug sa iyang gingharian, sa pagtukod ug pagpabilin niini uban sa pagkamakiangayon ug pagkamatarong gikan niini nga panahon hangtod sa umaabot ug hangtod sa kahangtoran. Ang magbuhat niini mao ang kadasig sa tinguha ni Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom.

8 The Lord hath sent a worde into Iaakob, and it hath lighted vpon Israel.

Nagpadala ang Ginoo ug pulong batok kang Jacob, ug miabot kini sa Israel.

9 And all the people shall knowe, euen Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and presumption of the heart,

Masayod ang tanang katawhan, bisan ang Efraim ug ang mga lumolupyo sa Samaria, nga mapasigarbohong nagsulti inubanan sa mapahitas-on nga kasingkasing,

10 The brickes are fallen, but we will build it with hewen stones: the wilde figge trees are cut downe, but we will change them into ceders.

“Nangatumpag na ang mga tisa, apan tukoron namo pag-usab uban sa tiniltilan nga bato; gipangputol ang mga kahoy nga sikamoro, apan mobutang kami ug mga kahoy nga sedro puli niini.”

11 Neuerthelesse the Lord will raise vp the aduersaries of Rezin against him, and ioyne his enemies together.

Busa pabarogon ni Yahweh ang nakigbatok kang Rezin, ang iyang kaatbang, ug pasulongon ang iyang mga kaaway,

12 Aram before and the Philistims behinde, and they shall deuoure Israel with open mouth: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

ang mga Arameanhon sa sidlakan, ug ang mga Filistihanon sa kasadpan. Magnganga sila sa paglamoy sa Israel. Wala gayod nahuwasi ang iyang kasuko bisan pa niining tanan nga mga butang; hinuon, nagtuy-od gihapon ang iyang kamot.

13 For the people turneth not vnto him that smiteth them, neither doe they seeke the Lord of hostes.

Apan dili mobalik kaniya ang katawhan nga maoy naghampak kanila, ni mangita sila kang Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom.

14 Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.

Busa pagaputlon ni Yahweh gikan sa Israel ang ulo ug ikog, ang sanga sa palmera ug bugang, sa usa lamang ka adlaw.

15 The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.

Ang pangulo ug ang inila nga tawo mao ang ulo; ug ang propeta nga nagatudlo ug bakak mao ang ikog.

16 For the leaders of the people cause them to erre: and they that are led by them are deuoured.

Ang gipangulohan niini mahisalaag gayod, ug malaglag kadtong ilang gipangulohan.

17 Therefore shall the Lord haue no pleasure in their yong men, neither will he haue compassion of their fatherlesse and of their widowes: for euery one is an hypocrite and wicked, and euery mouth speaketh follie: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out stil.

Busa dili malipay ang Ginoo sa ilang mga batan-ong kalalakin-an ni maluoy sa ilang mga ilo ug mga balo, sanglit ang matag usa walay dios ug nagabuhat ug daotan, ug ang matag baba nagsulti ug binuang nga mga butang. Wala gayod nahuwasi ang iyang kasuko, bisan pa niining tanan nga mga butang; hinuon, nagtuy-od gihapon ang iyang kamot.

18 For wickednesse burneth as a fire: it deuoureth the briers and the thornes and will kindle in the thicke places of the forest: and they shall mount vp like the lifting vp of smoke.

Masunog ang pagkadaotan sama sa kalayo; lamoyon niini ang mga sampinit ug mga tunok; sunogon niini bisan pa ang kalibonan sa lasang, moulbo kini sama sa usa ka haligi nga aso.

19 By the wrath of the Lord of hostes shall the land be darkened, and the people shall be as the meate of ye fire: no man shall spare his brother.

Nagdilaab ang yuta tungod sa kasuko ni Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom, ug ang katawhan sama sa sugnod alang sa kalayo. Walay tawo nga makaluwas sa iyang igsoon.

20 And he shall snatch at the right hand, and be hungrie: and he shall eate on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied: euery one shall eate ye flesh of his owne arme.

Mokuha sila ug pagkaon gamit ang ilang tuong kamot apan gutomon gihapon sila; mokaon sila gamit ang ilang walang kamot apan dili gihapon sila matagbaw. Kaonon man gani sa matag usa ang unod sa iyang kaugalingong bukton.

21 Manasseh, Ephraim: and Ephraim Manasseh, and they both shall be against Iudah yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Lamoyon ni Manases si Efraim, ug si Efraim, ni Manases; ug sulongon nilang duha ang Juda. Wala gayod nahuwasi ang iyang kasuko bisan pa niining tanan nga mga butang; hinuon, nagtuy-od gihapon ang iyang kamot.
