Isaiah 7
1 And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.
Khi A-cha, con Giô-tham, cháu Ô-xia, làm vua nước Giu-đa, Vua Rê-xin của nước Sy-ri và Phê-ca, con Rê-ma-lia, vua Ít-ra-ên, tiến đánh Giê-ru-sa-lem. Tuy nhiên, họ không thắng được.
2 And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.
Nhà Giu-đa nghe tin rằng: “Sy-ri liên minh với Ít-ra-ên chống chúng ta!” Vì thế lòng vua và dân chúng đều sợ hãi, như cây rung trước giông bão.
3 Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Y-sai: “Hãy dẫn Sê-gia, con trai con vào yết kiến Vua A-cha. Con sẽ gặp vua tại cuối cống dẫn nước đến hồ trên, gần con đường dẫn đến cánh đồng thợ giặt.
4 And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:
Con hãy nói với vua đừng lo lắng. Hãy nói rằng vua không cần sợ hãi vì cơn giận dữ dội của hai que gỗ cháy sắp tàn, tức Vua Rê-xin, nước Sy-ri và Phê-ca, con Rê-ma-lia.
5 Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,
Vua Sy-ri và Ít-ra-ên đã liên minh để tấn công vua, và nói:
6 Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.
‘Chúng ta hãy tấn công Giu-đa và chiếm cứ nó cho chúng ta. Rồi chúng ta sẽ đặt con trai của Ta-bên lên làm vua Giu-đa.’
7 Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.
Nhưng đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Mưu ấy sẽ không bao giờ xảy ra; việc ấy không bao giờ thực hiện được;
8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.
vì đầu của Sy-ri là Đa-mách, đầu Đa-mách là Rê-xin. Trong vòng sáu mươi lăm năm, Ít-ra-ên sẽ bị tiêu diệt và không còn là một dân nữa;
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.
đầu của Ép-ra-im là Sa-ma-ri; đầu của Sa-ma-ri là Phê-ca, con Rê-ma-lia. Nếu các ngươi không tin, các ngươi sẽ không đứng vững được.”
10 And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,
Chúa Hằng Hữu lại phán với Vua A-cha:
11 Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol h7585)
“Hãy cầu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi một dấu lạ, hoặc cao tận thiên đàng hoặc sâu dưới vực thẳm.” (Sheol h7585)
12 But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.
Nhưng vua từ khước: “Tôi không xin dấu lạ, cũng không dám thử Chúa Hằng Hữu như thế.”
13 Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?
Rồi Y-sai nói: “Hãy nghe đây, nhà Đa-vít! Các ngươi làm phiền người ta chưa đủ sao mà nay còn dám làm phiền Đức Chúa Trời nữa?
14 Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.
Chính Chúa sẽ cho ngươi một dấu lạ. Này! Một trinh nữ sẽ chịu thai! Người sẽ sinh hạ một Con trai, họ sẽ gọi Ngài là Em-ma-nu-ên (nghĩa là ‘Đức Chúa Trời ở cùng chúng ta’).
15 Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.
Con Trẻ sẽ ăn sữa đông và mật cho đến khi biết chọn điều đúng và khước từ điều sai.
16 For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.
Nhưng trước khi Con Trẻ ấy biết phân biệt thiện ác, thì đất nước của hai vua mà ông sợ đó sẽ bị bỏ hoang.
17 The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.
Rồi Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ giáng trên vua, đất nước vua, và gia đình vua tai họa khủng khiếp nhất kể từ ngày Ít-ra-ên tách khỏi Giu-đa. Ngài sẽ sai vua A-sy-ri đem quân đến!”
18 And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,
Trong ngày ấy, Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ kêu gọi đội quân từ phía nam Ai Cập và quân đội từ A-sy-ri. Chúng sẽ tụ chung quanh vua như những con ruồi và ong.
19 And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.
Chúng sẽ kéo đến từng bầy và đậu tại những nơi màu mỡ cũng như những thung lũng hoang vu, hang đá, và những nơi gai gốc.
20 In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.
Trong ngày ấy, Chúa sẽ dùng “lưỡi dao cạo” thuê từ bên kia Sông Ơ-phơ-rát—tức vua A-sy-ri—để cạo sạch mọi thứ: Đất của vua, mùa màng của vua, và dân của vua.
21 And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.
Trong ngày ấy, người làm nông chỉ có thể nuôi một con bò và hai con chiên hoặc dê.
22 And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.
Tuy nhiên, sẽ có đủ sữa cho mọi người vì chỉ còn vài người sót lại trong xứ. Họ sẽ ăn toàn sữa đông và mật.
23 And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.
Trong ngày ấy, những vườn nho tươi tốt, giá đáng cả 1.000 lạng bạc, sẽ trở nên những mảnh đất hoang vu và gai gốc.
24 With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.
Toàn bộ đất sẽ trở nên hoang vu và gai gốc, là vùng đất hoang dã để săn bắn.
25 But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.
Không ai dám đến các ngọn đồi đầy vườn tược xanh tươi trước kia, vì các ngọn đồi nay phủ toàn cỏ dại và gai gốc. Chỉ có bò, chiên, và dê đến gặm cỏ thôi.
