Isaiah 7
1 And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.
Nei giorni di Acaz figlio di Iotam, figlio di Ozia, re di Giuda, Rezìn re di Aram e Pekach figlio di Romelia, re di Israele, marciarono contro Gerusalemme per muoverle guerra, ma non riuscirono a espugnarla.
2 And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.
Fu dunque annunziato alla casa di Davide: «Gli Aramei si sono accampati in Efraim». Allora il suo cuore e il cuore del suo popolo si agitarono, come si agitano i rami del bosco per il vento.
3 Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
Il Signore disse a Isaia: «Và incontro ad Acaz, tu e tuo figlio Seariasùb, fino al termine del canale della piscina superiore sulla strada del campo del lavandaio.
4 And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:
Tu gli dirai: Fà attenzione e stà tranquillo, non temere e il tuo cuore non si abbatta per quei due avanzi di tizzoni fumosi, per la collera di Rezìn degli Aramei e del figlio di Romelia.
5 Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,
Poiché gli Aramei, Efraim e il figlio di Romelia hanno tramato il male contro di te, dicendo:
6 Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.
Saliamo contro Giuda, devastiamolo e occupiamolo, e vi metteremo come re il figlio di Tabeèl.
7 Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.
Così dice il Signore Dio: Ciò non avverrà e non sarà!
8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.
Perché capitale di Aram è Damasco e capo di Damasco è Rezìn.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.
Capitale di Efraim è Samaria e capo di Samaria il figlio di Romelia. Ancora sessantacinque anni ed Efraim cesserà di essere un popolo. Ma se non crederete, non avrete stabilità».
10 And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,
Il Signore parlò ancora ad Acaz:
11 Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol h7585)
«Chiedi un segno dal Signore tuo Dio, dal profondo degli inferi oppure lassù in alto». (Sheol h7585)
12 But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.
Ma Acaz rispose: «Non lo chiederò, non voglio tentare il Signore».
13 Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?
Allora Isaia disse: «Ascoltate, casa di Davide! Non vi basta di stancare la pazienza degli uomini, perché ora vogliate stancare anche quella del mio Dio?
14 Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.
Pertanto il Signore stesso vi darà un segno. Ecco: la vergine concepirà e partorirà un figlio, che chiamerà Emmanuele.
15 Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.
Egli mangerà panna e miele finché non imparerà a rigettare il male e a scegliere il bene.
16 For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.
Poiché prima ancora che il bimbo impari a rigettare il male e a scegliere il bene, sarà abbandonato il paese di cui temi i due re.
17 The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.
Il Signore manderà su di te, sul tuo popolo e sulla casa di tuo padre giorni quali non vennero da quando Efraim si staccò da Giuda: manderà il re di Assiria».
18 And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,
Avverrà in quel giorno: il Signore farà un fischio alle mosche che sono all'estremità dei canali di Egitto e alle api che si trovano in Assiria.
19 And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.
Esse verranno e si poseranno tutte nelle valli ricche di burroni, nelle fessure delle rocce, su ogni cespuglio e su ogni pascolo.
20 In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.
In quel giorno il Signore raderà con rasoio preso in affitto oltre il fiume, cioè il re assiro, il capo e il pelo del corpo, anche la barba toglierà via.
21 And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.
Avverrà in quel giorno: ognuno alleverà una giovenca e due pecore.
22 And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.
Per l'abbondanza del latte che faranno, si mangerà la panna; di panna e miele si ciberà ogni superstite in mezzo a questo paese.
23 And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.
Avverrà in quel giorno: ogni luogo, dove erano mille viti valutate mille sicli d'argento, sarà preda dei rovi e dei pruni.
24 With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.
Vi si entrerà armati di frecce e di arco, perché tutta la terra sarà rovi e pruni.
25 But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.
In tutti i monti, che erano vangati con la vanga, non si passerà più per paura delle spine e dei rovi. Serviranno da pascolo per armenti e da luogo battuto dal gregge.
