Isaiah 60

1 Arise, O Ierusalem: be bright, for thy light is come, and the glorie of the Lord is risen vpon thee.

Levanta-te, esclarece, porque já vem a tua luz, e a glória do Senhor já vai nascendo sobre ti.

2 For beholde, darkenesse shall couer the earth, and grosse darkenesse the people: but the Lord shall arise vpon thee, and his glory shall be seene vpon thee.

Porque eis que as trevas cobriram a terra, e a escuridão os povos; porém sobre ti o Senhor virá nascendo, e a sua glória se verá sobre ti.

3 And the Gentiles shall walke in thy light, and Kings at the brightnesse of thy rising vp.

E as nações caminharão à tua luz, e os reis ao resplandor que te nasceu.

4 Lift vp thine eyes round about, and beholde: all these are gathered, and come to thee: thy sonnes shall come from farre, and thy daughters shalbe nourished at thy side.

Levanta em redor os teus olhos, e vê; todos estes já se ajuntaram, e veem a ti: teus filhos virão de longe, e tuas filhas se crearão à tua ilharga.

5 Then thou shalt see and shine: thine heart shall be astonied and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shalbe conuerted vnto thee, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come vnto thee.

Então o verás, e serás iluminado, e o teu coração se espantará e alargará; porque a abundância do mar se tornará a ti, e as riquezas das nações virão a ti.

6 The multitude of camels shall couer thee: and the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah: all they of Sheba shall come: they shall bring golde and incense, and shewe foorth the prayses of the Lord.

A multidão de camelos te cobrirá, os dromedários de Midian e Epha; todos virão de Seba: ouro e incenso trarão, e publicarão os louvores do Senhor.

7 All the sheepe of Kedar shall be gathered vnto thee: the rammes of Nebaioth shall serue thee: they shall come vp to bee accepted vpon mine altar: and I will beautifie the house of my glorie.

Todas as ovelhas de Kedar se congregarão a ti, os carneiros de Nebaioth te servirão: com agrado subirão ao meu altar, e eu glorificarei a casa da minha glória.

8 Who are these that flee like a cloude, and as the doues to their windowes?

Quem são estes que veem voando como nuvens, e como pombas às suas janelas?

9 Surely the yles shall waite for mee, and the shippes of Tarshish, as at the beginning, that they may bring thy sonnes from farre, and their siluer, and their golde with them, vnto the Name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy one of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

Certamente as ilhas me aguardarão, e primeiro os navios de Tarsis, para trazer teus filhos de longe, a sua prata e o seu ouro com eles, para o nome do Senhor teu Deus, e para o Santo de Israel, porquanto te glorificou.

10 And the sonnes of strangers shall builde vp thy walles, and their Kings shall minister vnto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my mercie I had compassion on thee.

E os filhos dos estrangeiros edificarão os teus muros, e os seus reis te servirão; porque no meu furor te feri, porém na minha benignidade tive misericórdia de ti

11 Therefore thy gates shalbe open continually: neither day nor night shall they be shutte, that men may bring vnto thee the riches of the Gentiles, and that their Kings may be brought.

E as tuas portas estarão abertas de contínuo, nem de dia nem de noite se fecharão; para que tragam a ti as riquezas das nações, e, conduzidos com elas, os seus reis.

12 For the nation and the kingdome, that will not serue thee, shall perish: and those nations shalbe vtterly destroyed.

Porque a nação e o reino que te não servirem perecerão; e as tais nações de todo serão assoladas.

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come vnto thee, the firre tree, the elme and the boxe tree together, to beautifie the place of my Sanctuarie: for I will glorifie the place of my feete.

A glória do líbano virá a ti; a faia, o pinheiro, e o buxo juntamente, para ornarem o lugar do meu santuário, e glorificarei o lugar dos meus pés.

14 The sonnes also of them that afflicted thee, shall come and bowe vnto thee: and all they that despised thee, shall fall downe at the soles of thy feete: and they shall call thee, The citie of the Lord, Zion of the Holy one of Israel.

Também virão a ti, inclinando-se, os filhos dos que te oprimiram; e prostrar-se-ão às plantas dos teus pés todos os que te blasfemaram; e chamar-te-ão a cidade do Senhor, a Sião do Santo de Israel.

15 Where as thou hast bene forsaken and hated: so that no man went by thee, I will make thee an eternall glorie, and a ioye from generation to generation.

Em lugar de que foste deixada, e aborrecida, e ninguém passava por ti, te porei uma excelência perpétua, um gozo de geração em geração.

16 Thou shalt also sucke ye milke of the Gentiles, and shalt sucke the breastes of Kings: and thou shalt know, that I the Lord am thy Sauiour, and thy Redeemer, the mightie one of Iaakob.

E mamarás o leite das nações, e mamarás os peitos dos reis; e saberás que eu sou o Senhor, o teu Salvador, e o teu redentor, o Possante de Jacob.

17 For brasse will I bring golde, and for yron will I bring siluer, and for wood brasse, and for stones yron. I will also make thy gouernement peace, and thine exactours righteousnesse.

Por cobre trarei ouro, e por ferro trarei prata, e por madeira bronze, e por pedras ferro: e farei pacíficos os teus inspetores e justos os teus exatores.

18 Violence shall no more be heard of in thy land, neither desolation, nor destruction within thy borders: but thou shalt call saluation, thy walles, and praise, thy gates.

Nunca mais se ouvirá violência na tua terra, desolação nem destruição nos teus termos; mas aos teus muros chamarás salvação, e às tuas portas louvor.

19 Thou shalt haue no more sunne to shine by day, neither shall the brightnesse of the moone shine vnto thee: for the Lord shall be thine euerlasting light, and thy God, thy glorie.

Nunca mais te servirá o sol para luz do dia, nem com o seu resplandor a lua te alumiará; mas o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e o teu Deus a tua glória.

20 Thy sunne shall neuer goe downe, neither shall thy moone be hid: for the Lord shalbe thine euerlasting light, and the dayes of thy sorowe shalbe ended.

Nunca mais se porá o teu sol, nem a tua lua minguará; porque o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e os dias do teu luto se virão a acabar.

21 Thy people also shalbe all righteous: they shall possesse the land for euer, the grasse of my planting shalbe the worke of mine handes, that I may be glorified.

E todos os do teu povo serão justos, para sempre herdarão a terra; serão renovos por mim plantados, obra das minhas mãos, para que seja glorificado.

22 A litle one shall become as a thousande, and a small one as a strong nation: I the Lord wil hasten it in due time.

O mais pequeno virá a ser mil, e o mínimo um povo grandíssimo: eu, o Senhor, ao seu tempo o farei prontamente.
