Isaiah 60
1 Arise, O Ierusalem: be bright, for thy light is come, and the glorie of the Lord is risen vpon thee.
Auf, werde hell, denn dein Licht ist erschienen, und die Herrlichkeit Jahwes ist über dir aufgestrahlt!
2 For beholde, darkenesse shall couer the earth, and grosse darkenesse the people: but the Lord shall arise vpon thee, and his glory shall be seene vpon thee.
Denn fürwahr: Finsternis bedeckt die Erde und tiefes Dunkel die Völker; doch über dir wird Jahwe aufstrahlen, und seine Herrlichkeit wird über dir erscheinen.
3 And the Gentiles shall walke in thy light, and Kings at the brightnesse of thy rising vp.
Und die Völker werden hinwallen zu deinem Licht, und Könige zu dem Glanze, der über dir aufgestrahlt.
4 Lift vp thine eyes round about, and beholde: all these are gathered, and come to thee: thy sonnes shall come from farre, and thy daughters shalbe nourished at thy side.
Erhebe ringsum deine Augen und sieh: Sie alle haben sich versammelt, kommen zu dir heran! Deine Söhne werden von ferne herbeikommen, und deine Töchter werden auf der Hüfte herbeigetragen werden.
5 Then thou shalt see and shine: thine heart shall be astonied and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shalbe conuerted vnto thee, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come vnto thee.
Alsdann wirst du's sehen und vor Freude strahlen, und das Herz wird dir beben und weit werden. Denn der Reichtum des Meeres wird sich dir zuwenden, die Güter der Völker werden an dich gelangen.
6 The multitude of camels shall couer thee: and the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah: all they of Sheba shall come: they shall bring golde and incense, and shewe foorth the prayses of the Lord.
Die Haufen der Kamele werden dich überfluten, die jungen Kamele von Midian und Epha; sie alle werden von Saba herbeikommen. Gold und Weihrauch werden sie bringen und die Ruhmesthaten Jahwes als frohe Botschaft verkünden.
7 All the sheepe of Kedar shall be gathered vnto thee: the rammes of Nebaioth shall serue thee: they shall come vp to bee accepted vpon mine altar: and I will beautifie the house of my glorie.
Alle Herden Kedars werden sich zu dir versammeln, die Widder der Nabatäer werden dir zu Diensten stehn. Als wohlgefälliges Opfer werden sie auf meinen Altar kommen, und meinen herrlichen Tempel will ich verherrlichen.
8 Who are these that flee like a cloude, and as the doues to their windowes?
Wer sind diese da, die gleich einer Wolke daherfliegen, und wie Tauben nach ihren Schlägen?
9 Surely the yles shall waite for mee, and the shippes of Tarshish, as at the beginning, that they may bring thy sonnes from farre, and their siluer, and their golde with them, vnto the Name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy one of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
Denn meiner harren die Inseln, und die Tarsisschiffe segeln voran, um deine Söhne von fernher heimzubringen samt dem Silber und Golde der Völker, für den Namen Jahwes, deines Gottes, und für den Heiligen Israels, denn er verherrlicht dich.
10 And the sonnes of strangers shall builde vp thy walles, and their Kings shall minister vnto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my mercie I had compassion on thee.
Und Fremdlinge werden deine Mauern bauen, und ihre Könige dich bedienen; denn in meinem Grimme schlug ich dich, aber in meiner Gnade erbarme ich mich deiner.
11 Therefore thy gates shalbe open continually: neither day nor night shall they be shutte, that men may bring vnto thee the riches of the Gentiles, and that their Kings may be brought.
Und deine Thore werden bei Tage beständig offen stehen und bei Nacht nicht geschlossen werden, daß man die Güter der Völker zu dir hineinbringe unter der Führung ihrer Könige.
12 For the nation and the kingdome, that will not serue thee, shall perish: and those nations shalbe vtterly destroyed.
Denn das Volk und das Reich, die dir nicht unterthan sein wollen, werden untergehen, und diese Völker werden sicherlich veröden.
13 The glory of Lebanon shall come vnto thee, the firre tree, the elme and the boxe tree together, to beautifie the place of my Sanctuarie: for I will glorifie the place of my feete.
Die Pracht des Libanon wird zu dir kommen: Cypressen, Ulmen und Buchsbäume allzumal, um meine heilige Stätte zu verherrlichen und die Stätte meiner Füße zu ehren.
14 The sonnes also of them that afflicted thee, shall come and bowe vnto thee: and all they that despised thee, shall fall downe at the soles of thy feete: and they shall call thee, The citie of the Lord, Zion of the Holy one of Israel.
Und gebückt werden zu dir kommen die Söhne derer, die dich bedrückten, und zu deinen Fußsohlen werden sich niederwerfen alle, die dich verlästerten, und sie werden dich nennen “Stadt Jahwes, Zion des Heiligen Israels”.
15 Where as thou hast bene forsaken and hated: so that no man went by thee, I will make thee an eternall glorie, and a ioye from generation to generation.
An Stelle davon, daß du verlassen und verhaßt warst, so daß niemand an dir vorüberzog, will ich dich zum ewigen Stolze machen, zur Wonne für Geschlecht auf Geschlecht.
16 Thou shalt also sucke ye milke of the Gentiles, and shalt sucke the breastes of Kings: and thou shalt know, that I the Lord am thy Sauiour, and thy Redeemer, the mightie one of Iaakob.
Und du wirst die Milch der Völker saugen und an der Brust von Königen saugen, und so sollst du erkennen, daß ich, Jahwe, dein Erretter bin, und dein Erlöser der Starke Jakobs.
17 For brasse will I bring golde, and for yron will I bring siluer, and for wood brasse, and for stones yron. I will also make thy gouernement peace, and thine exactours righteousnesse.
Anstatt des Erzes will ich Gold einführen lassen und anstatt des Eisens will ich Silber einführen lassen, anstatt der Bauhölzer Erz und anstatt der Steine Eisen; und ich will zu deiner Obrigkeit den Frieden machen und zu deinem Herrn die Gerechtigkeit.
18 Violence shall no more be heard of in thy land, neither desolation, nor destruction within thy borders: but thou shalt call saluation, thy walles, and praise, thy gates.
Nicht soll man ferner von Gewaltthat in deinem Lande hören, von Verheerung und Zerstörung in deinen Grenzen, und du wirst deine Mauern “Heil” nennen und deine Thore “Ruhm”.
19 Thou shalt haue no more sunne to shine by day, neither shall the brightnesse of the moone shine vnto thee: for the Lord shall be thine euerlasting light, and thy God, thy glorie.
Nicht wird dir ferner die Sonne als Licht bei Tage dienen, noch wird dir bei Nacht der Glanz des Mondes leuchten; vielmehr wird dir Jahwe als immerwährendes Licht dienen und dein Gott zu deiner Verherrlichung.
20 Thy sunne shall neuer goe downe, neither shall thy moone be hid: for the Lord shalbe thine euerlasting light, and the dayes of thy sorowe shalbe ended.
Deine Sonne wird nicht mehr untergehen und dein Mond nicht abnehmen, denn Jahwe wird dir als immerwährendes Licht dienen, und die Tage deiner Trauer werden zu Ende sein.
21 Thy people also shalbe all righteous: they shall possesse the land for euer, the grasse of my planting shalbe the worke of mine handes, that I may be glorified.
Und dein Volk wird aus lauter Gerechten bestehen; für immer werden sie das Land in Besitz nehmen: sie, der Sproß meiner Pflanzung, das Werk meiner Hände, durch das ich mich verherrliche.
22 A litle one shall become as a thousande, and a small one as a strong nation: I the Lord wil hasten it in due time.
Der Kleinste wird zu einem Tausend werden und der Geringste zu einem starken Volk: Ich, Jahwe, will es zu seiner Zeit beschleunigen!
