Isaiah 55
1 Ho, euery one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and ye that haue no siluer, come, bye and eate: come, I say, bye wine and milke without siluer and without money.
O [VOI] tutti che siete assetati, venite alle acque; e [voi] che non avete alcuni danari, venite, comperate, e mangiate; venite, dico, comperate, senza danari, e senza prezzo, vino, e latte.
2 Wherefore doe ye lay out siluer and not for bread? and your labour without being satisfied? hearken diligently vnto me, and eate that which is good, and let your soule delite in fatnes.
Perchè spendete danari in ciò che non è pane, e la vostra fatica in ciò che non può saziare? ascoltatemi pure, e voi mangerete del buono, e l'anima vostra goderà del grasso.
3 Encline your eares, and come vnto me: heare, and your soule shall liue, and I will make an euerlasting couenant with you, euen the sure mercies of Dauid.
Inchinate il vostro orecchio, e venite a me; ascoltate, e l'anima vostra viverà; ed io farò con voi un patto eterno, [secondo] le benignità stabili, [promesse] a Davide.
4 Beholde, I gaue him for a witnes to the people, for a prince and a master vnto the people.
Ecco, io l'ho dato per testimonio delle nazioni; per conduttore, e comandatore a' popoli.
5 Beholde, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and a nation that knew not thee, shall runne vnto thee, because of the Lord thy God, and the holy one of Israel: for hee hath glorified thee.
Ecco, tu chiamerai la gente che tu non conoscevi, e la nazione che non ti conosceva correrà a te, per cagion del Signore Iddio tuo, e del Santo d'Israele; perciocchè egli ti avrà glorificato.
6 Seeke ye the Lord while he may be found: call ye vpon him while he is neere.
Cercate il Signore, mentre egli si trova; invocatelo, mentre egli è vicino.
7 Let the wicked forsake his wayes, and the vnrighteous his owne imaginations, and returne vnto the Lord, and he wil haue mercy vpon him: and to our God, for hee is very ready to forgiue.
Lasci l'empio la sua via, e l'uomo iniquo i suoi pensieri; e convertasi al Signore, ed egli avrà pietà di lui; ed all'Iddio nostro, perciocchè egli è gran perdonatore.
8 For my thoughtes are not your thoughts, neither are your wayes my wayes, sayth the Lord.
Perciocchè i miei pensieri non [sono] i vostri pensieri, nè le mie vie le vostre vie, dice il Signore.
9 For as ye heauens are higher then the earth, so are my wayes higher then your wayes, and my thoughtes aboue your thoughts.
Conciossiachè, [quanto] i cieli son più alti che la terra, tanto sieno più alte le mie vie che le vostre vie, ed i miei pensieri che i vostri pensieri.
10 Surely as the raine commeth downe and the snow from heauen, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth and maketh it to bring forth and bud, that it may giue seede to the sower, and bread vnto him that eateth,
Perciocchè, siccome la pioggia e la neve scende dal cielo, e non vi ritorna; anzi adacqua la terra, e la fa produrre e germogliare, talchè ella dà sementa da seminare, e pane de mangiare;
11 So shall my worde be, that goeth out of my mouth: it shall not returne vnto me voyde, but it shall accomplish that which I will, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
così sarà la mia parola, che sarà uscita della mia bocca; ella non ritornerà a me a vuoto; anzi opererà ciò che io avrò voluto, e prospererà in ciò per che l'avrò mandata.
12 Therefore ye shall go out with ioy, and be led forth with peace: the mountaines and the hilles shall breake foorth before you into ioye, and all the trees of the fielde shall clap their handes.
Perciocchè voi uscirete con allegrezza, e sarete condotti in pace; i monti, e i colli risoneranno grida di allegrezza davanti a voi; e tutti gli alberi della campagna si batteranno a palme.
13 For thornes there shall grow firre trees: for nettles shall growe the myrrhe tree, and it shalbe to the Lord for a name, and for an euerlasting signe that shall not be taken away.
In luogo dello spino crescerà l'abete, in luogo dell'ortica crescerà il mirto; e [ciò] sarà al Signore in fama, in segno eterno, [che] non verrà [giammai] meno.
