Isaiah 52

1 Aries, arise: put on thy strength, O Zion: put on thy garments of thy beautie, O Ierusalem, the holy citie: for hencefoorth there shall no more come into thee the vncircumcised and the vncleane.

¡Despierta, despierta, Sión! ¡Sé fuerte! Ponte tus mejores galas, Jerusalén, la ciudad santa. Los extranjeros paganos no volverán a entrar en ti.

2 Shake thy selfe from the dust: arise, and sit downe, O Ierusalem: loose the bandes of thy necke, O thou captiue daughter, Zion.

Sacúdete del polvo y levántate. Siéntate en tu trono, Jerusalén. Lanza las cadenas de tu cuello, hija cautiva de Sión.

3 For thus sayeth the Lord, Yee were solde for naught: therefore shall ye be redeemed without money.

Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Fuiste vendida por nada, y serás comprada de nuevo sin dinero.

4 For thus saith the Lord God, My people went downe afore time into Egypt to soiourne there, and Asshur oppressed them without cause.

Esto es lo que dice el Señor: En primer lugar, mi pueblo fue a vivir a Egipto, luego Asiria lo conquistó sin razón.

5 Nowe therefore what haue I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for naught, and they that rule ouer them, make them to howle, saith the Lord? and my Name all the day continually is blasphemed?

¿Qué tengo que hacer ahora? pregunta el Señor. Mi pueblo ha sido llevado al cautiverio sin razón alguna. Los que los gobiernan se burlan de ellos, y a mí me tratan con desprecio todo ese tiempo, dice el Señor.

6 Therefore my people shall know my Name: therefore they shall know in that day, that I am he that doe speake: beholde, it is I.

Así que voy a hacer que mi pueblo me conozca; en ese momento sabrán que soy yo quien habla en serio. ¡Sí, soy yo!

7 How beautifull vpon the mountaines are the feete of him, that declareth and publisheth peace? that declareth good tidings, and publisheth saluation, saying vnto Zion, Thy God reigneth?

¡Qué espectáculo tan maravilloso en las montañas es el que corre a traer buenas noticias, anunciando la paz y la buena nueva, anunciando la salvación, diciendo a Sión: “Tu Dios reina!”

8 The voyce of thy watchmen shalbe heard: they shall lift vp their voyce, and shoute together: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring againe Zion.

Los vigilantes de la ciudad gritan con fuerza y cantan juntos de alegría; todos ven que el Señor vuelve a Jerusalén.

9 O ye desolate places of Ierusalem, bee glad and reioyce together: for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Ierusalem.

Que las ruinas de Jerusalén canten todas de alegría porque el Señor ha venido a cuidar a su pueblo; ha liberado a Jerusalén.

10 The Lord hath made bare his holy arme in the sight of all the Gentiles, and all the endes of the earth shall see the saluation of our God.

El Señor ha demostrado su santo poder a todas las naciones; el mundo entero verá la salvación de nuestro Dios.

11 Depart, depart ye: goe out from thence and touche no vncleane thing: goe out of the middes of her: be ye cleane, that beare the vessels of the Lord.

¡Salgan, salgan, salgan de ahí! No traigan nada pagano; salgan y dejen todo atrás. Los que llevan los objetos sagrados del Señor deben purificarse.

12 For ye shall not goe out with haste, nor depart by fleeing away: but the Lord will goe before you, and the God of Israel will gather you together.

Pero no salgan con prisa, no se apresuren como si huyeran, porque el Señor irá delante de ustedes, y también protegerá a los de atrás.

13 Beholde, my seruant shall prosper: he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very hie.

Mira: mi siervo actuará con sabiduría; será muy alabado, será elevado en su posición y visto como alguien a quien la gente admira.

14 As many were astonied at thee (his visage was so deformed of men, and his forme of the sonnes of men)

Pero muchos se horrorizaron de él, tan desfigurado en apariencia, que ya no parece un hombre, tan distinto a cualquier ser humano.

15 so shall hee sprinkle many nations: the Kings shall shut their mouthes at him: for that which had not bene tolde them, shall they see, and that which they had not heard, shall they vnderstande.

Sorprenderá a muchas naciones, y los reyes callarán a causa de él, porque verán lo que no se les ha dicho, y entenderán lo que no habían oído.
