Isaiah 48
1 Hear yee this, O house of Iaakob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come out of the waters of Iudah: which sweare by the Name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousnesse.
Ouvi isto, casa de Jacob, que vos chamais do nome de Israel, e saístes das águas de Judá, que jurais pelo nome do Senhor, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, porém não em verdade nem em justiça.
2 For they are called of the holy citie, and staie themselues vpon the God of Israel, whose Name is the Lord of hostes.
E até da santa cidade se nomeiam, e se firmam sobre o Deus de Israel; o Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome.
3 I haue declared ye former things of old, and they went out of my mouth, and I shewed them: I did them suddenly, and they came to passe.
As coisas passadas já desde então anunciei, e procederam da minha boca, e eu as fiz ouvir: apressuradamente as fiz, e vieram.
4 Because I knewe, that thou art obstinate, and thy necke is an yron sinew, and thy brow brasse,
Porque eu sabia que eras duro, e a tua cerviz um nervo de ferro, e a tua testa de bronze.
5 Therefore I haue declared it to thee of old: before it came to passe, I shewed it thee, lest thou shouldest say, Mine idole hath done them, and my carued image, and my molten image hath commanded them.
Por isso to anunciei desde então, e to fiz ouvir antes que viesse, para que porventura não dissesses: O meu ídolo fez estas coisas, ou a minha imagem de escultura, ou a minha imagem de fundição as mandou.
6 Thou hast heard, behold all this, and wil not yee declare it? I haue shewed thee newe things, euen now, and hid things, which thou knewest not.
Já o tens ouvido; olha bem para tudo isto; porventura assim vós o não anunciareis? desde agora te faço ouvir coisas novas e ocultas, e que nunca conheceste.
7 They are created now, and not of olde, and euen before this thou heardest them not, lest thou shouldest say, Beholde, I knewe them.
Agora foram criadas, e não desde então, e antes deste dia não as ouviste, para que porventura não digas: Eis que já eu as sabia.
8 Yet thou heardest them not, neither diddest know them, neither yet was thine eare opened of olde: for I knewe that thou wouldest grieuously transgresse: therefore haue I called thee a transgressour from the wombe.
Nem tu as ouviste, nem tu as conheceste, nem tão pouco desde então foi aberto o teu ouvido, porque eu sabia que obrarias muito perfidamente, e que foste chamado prevaricador desde o ventre.
9 For my Names sake will I defer my wrath, and for my praise will I refraine it from thee, that I cut thee not off.
Por amor do meu nome dilatarei a minha ira, e por amor do meu louvor me refrearei para contigo, para que te não venha a cortar.
10 Behold, I haue fined thee, but not as siluer: I haue chosen thee in the fornace of affliction.
Eis que já te purifiquei, porém não como a prata: escolhi-te na fornalha da aflição.
11 For mine owne sake, for mine owne sake wil I doe it: for how should my Name be polluted? surely I wil not giue my glory vnto another.
Por amor de mim, por amor de mim o farei, porque como seria profanado o meu nome? e a minha honra não a darei a outrem.
12 Heare me, O Iaakob and Israel, my called, I am, I am the first, and I am the last.
Dá-me ouvidos, ó Jacob, e tu, ó Israel, a quem chamei; eu sou o mesmo, eu o primeiro, eu também o último.
13 Surely mine hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heaues: when I cal them, they stand vp together.
Também a minha mão fundou a terra, e a minha dextra mediu os céus a palmos; eu os chamarei, e aparecerão juntos.
14 All you, assemble your selues, and heare: which among them hath declared these thinges? The Lord hath loued him: he wil doe his will in Babel, and his arme shalbe against the Chaldeans.
Ajuntai-vos todos vós, e ouvi: Quem há, dentre eles, que anunciasse estas coisas? O Senhor o amou, e executará a sua vontade contra Babilônia, e o seu braço será contra os caldeus.
15 I, euen I haue spoken it, and I haue called him: I haue brought him, and his way shall prosper.
Eu, eu o tenho dito; também já eu o chamei, e o farei vir, e farei próspero o seu caminho.
16 Come neere vnto me: heare ye this: I haue not spoken it in secret from the beginning: from the time that the thing was, I was there, and now the Lord God and his Spirit hath sent me.
Chegai-vos a mim, ouvi isto: Não falei em oculto desde o princípio, mas desde o tempo em que aquilo se fez eu estava ali, e agora o Senhor Jehovah me enviou o seu espírito.
17 Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the Holy one of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teach thee to profite, and lead thee by the way, that thou shouldest goe.
Assim diz o Senhor, o teu redentor, o Santo de Israel: Eu sou o Senhor, o teu Deus, que te ensina o que é útil, e te guia pelo caminho em que deves andar.
18 Oh that thou haddest hearkened to my commandements! then had thy prosperitie bene as the floude, and thy righteousnesse as the waues of the sea.
Ah! se deras ouvidos aos meus mandamentos! então seria a tua paz como o rio, e a tua justiça como as ondas do mar.
19 Thy seede also had beene as the sande, and the fruite of thy body like the grauell thereof: his name should not haue bene cut off nor destroied before me.
Também a tua semente seria como a areia, e os que procedem das tuas entranhas como o burgalhão dela, cujo nome nunca seria cortado nem destruído da minha face.
20 Goe yee out of Babel: flee yee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of ioy: tel and declare this: shewe it foorth to the ende of the earth: say yee, The Lord hath redeemed his seruant Iaakob.
Saí de Babilônia, fugi de entre os caldeus. E anunciai com voz de júbilo; fazei ouvir isso, e levai-o até ao fim da terra: dizei: O Senhor remiu a seu servo Jacob.
21 And they were not thirstie: hee led them through the wildernesse: hee caused the waters to flowe out of the rocke for them: for he claue the rocke, and the water gushed out.
E não tinham sede, quando os levava pelos desertos; fez-lhes correr água da rocha: fendendo ele as rochas, as águas manavam delas.
22 There is no peace, sayeth the Lord, vnto the wicked.
Porém os ímpios não tem paz, disse o Senhor.
