Isaiah 44
1 Yet nowe heare, O Iaakob my seruant, and Israel, whom I haue chosen.
ORA dunque ascolta, o Giacobbe, mio servitore; e [tu], Israele, [che] io ho eletto.
2 Thus sayeth the Lord, that made thee, and formed thee from the wombe: he wil helpe thee. Feare not, O Iaakob, my seruaunt, and thou righteous, whome I haue chosen.
Così ha detto il Signore, tuo Fattore, e tuo Formatore fin dal ventre, [il qual] ti aiuta: Non temere, o Giacobbe, mio servitore; e [tu], Iesurun, [che] io ho eletto.
3 For I will powre water vpon the thirstie, and floods vpon the drie grounde: I will powre my Spirit vpon thy seede, and my blessing vpon thy buddes.
Perciocchè io spanderò dell'acque sopra l'assetato, e dei rivi sopra la [terra] asciutta; io spanderò il mio Spirito sopra la tua progenie, e la mia benedizione sopra quelli che usciranno di te.
4 And they shall grow as among the grasse, and as the willowes by the riuers of waters.
Ed essi germoglieranno fra l'erba, come salci presso a' rivi delle acque.
5 One shall say, I am the Lordes: another shalbe called by the name of Iaakob: and another shall subscribe with his hand vnto the Lord, and name himselfe by the name of Israel.
L'uno dirà: Io [son] del Signore; e l'altro si nominerà del nome di Giacobbe; e l'altro si sottoscriverà di sua mano del Signore, e si soprannominerà del nome d'Israele.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and his redeemer, the Lord of hostes, I am the first, and I am the last, and without me is there no God.
Così ha detto il Signore, il Re d'Israele, e suo Redentore, il Signor degli eserciti: Io [sono] il primiero, ed io [son] l'ultimo; e non [vi è] Dio alcuno fuor che me.
7 And who is like me, that shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order before me, since I appointed the ancient people? and what is at hand, and what things are to come? let them shewe vnto them.
E chi [è] come me, che abbia chiamato, e dichiarato, e ordinato [quello], da che io stabilii il popolo antico? annunzino loro [que' dii] le cose future, e quelle che avverranno.
8 Feare ye not, neither be afraide: haue not I tolde thee of olde, and haue declared it? you are euen my witnesses, whether there be a God beside me, and that there is no God that I knowe not.
Non vi spaventate, e non vi smarrite; non ti ho io fatte intendere, e dichiarate [queste cose] ab antico? e voi me [ne siete] testimoni; evvi alcun Dio, fuor che me? non [vi è] alcun'[altra] Rocca, io non [ne] conosco alcuna.
9 All they that make an image, are vanitie, and their delectable things shall nothing profite: and they are their owne witnesses, that they see not nor know: therefore they shalbe confounded.
Gli artefici delle sculture [son] tutti quanti vanità; e i lor cari [idoli] non giovano nulla; ed essi [son] testimoni a sè stessi che quelli non vedono, e non conoscono; acciocchè sieno confusi.
10 Who hath made a god, or molten an image, that is profitable for nothing?
Chi ha formato un dio? e chi ha fusa una scultura? Ella non gioverà nulla.
11 Beholde, all that are of the fellowship thereof, shall be confounded: for the workemen themselues are men: let them all be gathered together, and stand vp, yet they shall feare, and be confounded together.
Ecco, tutti i compagni di un tale uomo saranno confusi, e insieme gli artefici, [che] son fra gli uomini; aduninsi pure, [e] presentinsi tutti quanti; sì, saranno tutti insieme spaventati, e confusi.
12 The smith taketh an instrument, and worketh in the coles, and facioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his armes: yea, he is an hungred, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
Il ferraiuolo [adopera] la lima, e lo scarpello, e lavora col carbone, e forma [la scultura] co' martelli; ed anche, [mentre] la lavora con la forza del suo braccio, ha fame, e le forze [gli] mancano; egli non beve acqua, e si stanca.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out a line: he facioneth it with a red thread, he planeth it, and he purtreyeth it with the compasse, and maketh it after the figure of a man, and according to the beautie of a man that it may remaine in an house.
Il legnaiuolo stende il regolo, disegna [la scultura] con la sinopia, la lavora con asce, e la disegna con la sesta, e la fa alla somiglianza umana, secondo la gloria dell'uomo; acciocchè dimori in casa.
14 He will hewe him downe cedars, and take the pine tree and the oke, and taketh courage among the trees of the forest: he planteth a firre tree, and the raine doeth nourish it.
Tagliando de' cedri, egli prende un elce, ed una quercia, e li lascia fortificar fra gli alberi di una selva; egli pianta un frassino salvatico, [il qual] la pioggia fa crescere.
15 And man burneth thereof: for he will take thereof and warme himselfe: he also kindleth it and baketh bread, yet he maketh a god, and worshippeth it: he maketh it an idole and boweth vnto it.
E [quegli alberi] servono all'uomo per bruciare; ed egli ne prende una parte, e se ne scalda; ed anche ne accende [del fuoco], e [ne] cuoce del pane; ed anche [ne] fa un dio, e l'adora; ne fa una scultura, e le s'inchina.
16 He burneth the halfe thereof euen in the fire, and vpon the halfe thereof he eateth flesh: he rosteth the roste and is satisfied: also he warmeth himselfe and sayth, Aha, I am warme, I haue bene at the fire.
Egli ne avrà bruciata la metà al fuoco, col mezzo dell'altra metà egli avrà mangiata della carne, [ed] avrà arrostito l'arrosto, e si sarà saziato; ed anche, dopo essersi scaldato, dirà: Eia! io mi sono scaldato; io ho veduto il fuoco.
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, euen his idole: he boweth vnto it, and worshippeth and prayeth vnto it, and sayeth, Deliuer me: for thou art my god.
Poi impiega il rimanente a [fare] un dio, in una sua scultura, alla quale egli s'inchina, e [l]'adora, e gli fa orazione, e dice: Liberami; perciocchè tu [sei] il mio dio.
18 They haue not knowen, nor vnderstand: for God hath shut their eyes that they cannot see, and their heartes, that they cannot vnderstand.
Essi non hanno conoscimento, nè intendimento alcuno; perciocchè i loro occhi sono incrostati, per non vedere; [e i] lor cuori, per non intendere.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor vnderstanding to say, I haue burnt halfe of it, euen in the fire, and haue baked bread also vpon the coles thereof: I haue rosted flesh, and eaten it, and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I bowe to the stocke of a tree?
E non si recano [la cosa] al cuore, e non [hanno] conoscimento, nè intendimento alcuno, per dire: Io ho arsa col fuoco la metà di questo, ed anche ho cotto del pane su le brace di esso: io [ne] ho arrostita della carne, e [l]'ho mangiata; farei io del rimanente di esso una cosa abbominevole? m'inchinerei io davanti ad un tronco di legno?
20 He feedeth of ashes: a seduced heart hath deceiued him, that he cannot deliuer his soule, nor say, Is there not a lye in my right hand?
Essi si pascono di cenere, il cuor sedotto li travia; e non rinfrancano [mai] l'anima loro, e non dicono: [Questo che io ho] nella destra, non [è egli] una cosa falsa?
21 Remember these (O Iaakob and Israel) for thou art my seruant: I haue formed thee: thou art my seruant: O Israel forget me not.
RICORDATI di queste cose, o Giacobbe, e Israele; perciocchè tu [sei] mio servitore, io ti ho formato, tu [sei] mio servitore; Israele, non dimenticarmi.
22 I haue put away thy transgressions like a cloude, and thy sinnes, as a mist: turne vnto me, for I haue redeemed thee.
Io ho cancellati i tuoi misfatti, a guisa di una nuvola; ed i tuoi peccati, a guisa di una nube; convertiti a me, perciocchè io ti ho riscattato.
23 Reioyce, ye heauens: for the Lord hath done it: shoute, ye lower partes of the earth: brast foorth into prayses, ye mountaines, O forest and euery tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Iaakob and will be glorified in Israel.
Cantate, o cieli; perciocchè il Signore ha operato; giubilate, luoghi bassi della terra; risonate grida di allegrezza, monti, selve, e tutti gli alberi [che sono] in esse; perciocchè il Signore ha riscattato Giacobbe, e si è reso glorioso in Israele.
24 Thus sayeth the Lord thy redeemer and he that formed thee from the wombe, I am the Lord, that made all things, that spred out the heauens alone, and stretched out the earth by my selfe.
Così ha detto il Signore, tuo Redentore, e tuo Formatore fin dal ventre: Io [sono] il Signore, che ho fatta ogni cosa, che ho distesi i cieli solo, [ed] ho appianata la terra, senza che alcuno [sia stato] meco;
25 I destroy the tokens of ye southsayers, and make them that coniecture, fooles, and turne the wise men backwarde, and make their knowledge foolishnesse.
che annullo i segni de' bugiardi, e fo impazzar gl'indovini; che fo andare a ritroso i savi, e rendo stolto il loro conoscimento;
26 He confirmeth the worde of his seruant and performeth the counsell of his messengers, saying to Ierusalem, Thou shalt bee inhabited: and to the cities of Iudah, Yee shall be built vp, and I will repayre the decayed places thereof.
che confermo la parola del mio servitore, e adempio il consiglio de' miei Angeli; che dico a Gerusalemme: Tu sarai abitata; ed alle città di Giuda: Voi sarete riedificate; ed io ridirizzerò le sue ruine;
27 He saith to the deepe, Be drye and I will drye vp thy floods.
che dico al profondo [mare: ] Seccati; e che asciugherò i suoi fiumi;
28 He saith to Cyrus, Thou art my shepheard: and he shall performe all my desire: saying also to Ierusalem, Thou shalt be built: and to the Temple, Thy foundation shall be surely layed.
che dico a Ciro: Mio pastore; e [fo] ch'egli adempierà tutta la mia volontà, per dire a Gerusalemme: Tu sarai riedificata; ed al tempio: Tu sarai [di nuovo] fondato.
