Isaiah 38
1 About that time was Hezekiah sicke vnto the death, and the Prophet Isaiah sonne of Amoz came vnto him, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the Lord, Put thine house in an order, for thou shalt dye, and not liue.
সেই সময় হিষ্কিয় অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েছিলেন এবং তা মৃত্যুজনক হয়ে গেল। আমোষের ছেলে ভাববাদী যিশাইয় তাঁর কাছে গিয়ে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু একথাই বলেন: তুমি বাড়ির সব ব্যবস্থা ঠিকঠাক করে রাখো, কারণ তুমি মরতে চলেছ; তুমি আর সেরে উঠবে না।”
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord,
হিষ্কিয় দেয়ালের দিকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর কাছে এই প্রার্থনা করলেন,
3 And saide, I beseeche thee, Lord, remember nowe howe I haue walked before thee in trueth, and with a perfite heart, and haue done that which is good in thy sight: and Hezekiah wept sore.
“হে সদাপ্রভু, স্মরণ করো, আমি কীভাবে তোমার সামনে বিশ্বস্ততায় ও সম্পূর্ণ হৃদয়ে ভক্তি প্রকাশ করেছি। তোমার দৃষ্টিতে যা কিছু মঙ্গলজনক, আমি তাই করেছি।” এই বলে হিষ্কিয় অত্যন্ত রোদন করতে লাগলেন।
4 Then came the worde of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
তখন সদাপ্রভুর বাণী যিশাইয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল:
5 Goe, and say vnto Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord God of Dauid thy father, I haue heard thy prayer, and seene thy teares: behold, I will adde vnto thy dayes fifteene yeeres.
“তুমি ফিরে গিয়ে হিষ্কিয়কে এই কথা বলো, ‘সদাপ্রভু, তোমার পিতৃপুরুষ দাউদের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, আমি তোমার প্রার্থনা শ্রবণ করেছি ও তোমার অশ্রু দেখেছি; আমি তোমার জীবনের আয়ুর সঙ্গে আরও পনেরো বছর যোগ করব।
6 And I will deliuer thee out of the hand of the King of Asshur, and this citie: for I will defende this citie.
এছাড়াও আমি তোমাকে ও এই নগরটিকে আসিরীয় রাজার হাত থেকে উদ্ধার করব। আমি এই নগরকে রক্ষা করব।
7 And this signe shalt thou haue of ye Lord, that ye Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken,
“‘সদাপ্রভু যা কিছু প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন, তা পূর্ণ করার জন্য এই হবে সদাপ্রভুর চিহ্নস্বরূপ:
8 Beholde, I will bring againe the shadowe of the degrees (whereby it is gone downe in the diall of Ahaz by the sunne) ten degrees backeward: so the sunne returned by tenne degrees, by the which degrees it was gone downe.
আহসের সিড়িতে সূর্যের ছায়া যতটা নেমে গিয়েছে, আমি তার থেকে দশ ধাপ সেই ছায়া পিছনে ফিরিয়ে দেব।’” তাই সূর্যের আলো যতটা নেমেছিল, তার থেকে দশ ধাপ পিছিয়ে গেল।
9 The writing of Hezekiah King of Iudah, when he had bene sicke, and was recouered of his sickenesse.
যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয় তাঁর অসুস্থতা ও রোগনিরাময়ের পরে যা লিখেছিলেন, তা হল এই:
10 I saide in the cutting off of my dayes, I shall goe to the gates of the graue: I am depriued of the residue of my yeeres. (Sheol h7585)
আমি বললাম, “আমার জীবনের সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট সময়ে আমাকে কি অবশ্যই মৃত্যুর দুয়ারগুলির মধ্য দিয়ে যেতে হবে এবং আমার আয়ুষ্কালের অবশিষ্ট সময় থেকে বঞ্চিত হতে হবে?” (Sheol h7585)
11 I said, I shall not see the Lord, euen the Lord in the land of the liuing: I shall see man no more among the inhabitants of the world.
আমি বললাম, “আমি সদাপ্রভুকে আর দেখতে পাব না, জীবিতদের দেশে সদাপ্রভুকে দেখতে পাব না; আমি আর মানবকুলকে দেখতে পাব না, কিংবা যারা এই জগতে বসবাস করে, তাদের সঙ্গে থাকব না।
12 Mine habitation is departed, and is remoued from me, like a shepheards tent: I haue cut off like a weauer my life: he will cut me off from the height: from day to night, thou wilt make an ende of me.
আমার কাছ থেকে আমার আবাস মেষশাবকের তাঁবুর মতো তুলে নিয়ে ছিনিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে। তাঁতির মতো আমি আমার জীবন গুটিয়ে ফেলেছি এবং তিনি তাঁত থেকে আমাকে ছিন্ন করেছেন; দিনে ও রাতে তুমি আমার জীবন শেষ করেছ।
13 I rekoned to the morning: but he brake all my bones, like a lion: from day to night wilt thou make an ende of me.
আমি প্রভাত পর্যন্ত ধৈর্যসহ অপেক্ষা করেছি, কিন্তু সিংহের মতোই তিনি আমার হাড়গুলি চূর্ণ করেছেন; দিনে ও রাতে তুমি আমার জীবন শেষ করেছ।
14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourne as a doue: mine eies were lift vp on high: O Lord, it hath oppressed me, comfort me.
আমি ফিঙে বা সারসের মতো চিঁ চিঁ শব্দ করেছি, আমি বিলাপকারী ঘুঘুর মতোই বিলাপ করেছি। আকাশমণ্ডলের দিকে তাকিয়ে তাকিয়ে আমার চোখের দৃষ্টি ক্ষীণ হল। আমি উপদ্রুত হয়েছি; ও প্রভু, তুমি আমার সাহায্যের জন্য এসো!”
15 What shall I say? for he hath said it to me, and he hath done it: I shall walke weakely all my yeeres in the bitternesse of my soule.
কিন্তু আমার কী বলার আছে? তিনি আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন এবং তিনি স্বয়ং এ কাজ করেছেন। আমার প্রাণের এই নিদারুণ যন্ত্রণার জন্য আমার সমস্ত জীবনকাল আমি নতনম্র হয়ে চলব।
16 O Lord, to them that ouerliue them, and to all that are in them, the life of my spirite shalbe knowen, that thou causedst me to sleepe and hast giuen life to me.
প্রভু, এই সমস্ত বিষয়ের জন্যই মানুষ বাঁচে; আবার আমার আত্মাও সেগুলির মধ্যে জীবন খুঁজে পায়। তুমি আমার স্বাস্থ্য ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছ এবং আমাকে বাঁচতে দিয়েছ।
17 Beholde, for felicitie I had bitter griefe, but it was thy pleasure to deliuer my soule from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sinnes behinde thy backe.
নিশ্চিতরূপে এ ছিল আমার উপকারের জন্য যে আমি এ ধরনের মর্মযন্ত্রণা ভোগ করেছি। ধ্বংসের গহ্বর থেকে তুমি তোমার ভালোবাসায় আমাকে রক্ষা করেছ; আমার সমস্ত পাপ নিয়ে তুমি তোমার পিছন দিকে ফেলে দিয়েছ।
18 For the graue cannot confesse thee: death cannot praise thee: they that goe downe into the pit, cannot hope for thy trueth. (Sheol h7585)
কারণ কবর তোমার প্রশংসা করতে পারে না, মৃত্যু করতে পারে না তোমার স্তব; যারা সেই গহ্বরে নেমে যায়, তারা তোমার বিশ্বস্ততার প্রত্যাশা করতে পারে না। (Sheol h7585)
19 But the liuing, the liuing, he shall confesse thee, as I doe this day: the father to the children shall declare thy trueth.
জীবন্ত, কেবলমাত্র জীবন্ত লোকেরাই তোমার প্রশংসা করবে, যেমন আজ আমি তোমার প্রশংসা করছি; বাবারা তাদের সন্তানদের তোমার বিশ্বস্ততার কথা বলেন।
20 The Lord was ready to saue me: therefore we will sing my song, all the dayes of our life in the House of the Lord.
সদাপ্রভু আমাকে রক্ষা করবেন, আমরা জীবনের সমস্ত দিন সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে তারের বাদ্যযন্ত্রে গান গাইব।
21 Then said Isaiah, Take a lumpe of drye figs and lay it vpon the boyle, and he shall recouer.
যিশাইয় বলেছিলেন, “ডুমুরফল ছেঁচে একটি প্রলেপ তৈরি করে সেই ফোঁড়ার উপরে লাগাতে, তাহলে তিনি আরোগ্য লাভ করবেন।”
22 Also Hezekiah had said, What is ye signe, that I shall goe vp into the House of the Lord?
হিষ্কিয় জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিলেন, “আমি যে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে উঠে যাব, তার চিহ্ন কী?”
