Isaiah 36
1 Nowe in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against al the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.
Четрнаесте године царовања Језекијиног подиже се Сенахирим цар асирски на све тврде градове Јудине, и узе их.
2 And the King of Asshur sent Rabshakeh from Lachish toward Ierusalem vnto King Hezekiah, with a great hoste, and he stood by ye conduite of the vpper poole in the path of the fullers fielde.
И посла цар асирски Равсака из Лахиса у Јерусалим к цару Језекији с великом војском; и он стаде код јаза горњег језера на путу код поља бељаревог.
3 Then came foorth vnto him Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah the steward of the house, and Shebna the chanceler, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.
Тада изађе к њему Елијаким син Хелкијин, који беше над двором, и Сомна писар и Јоах син Асафов паметар.
4 And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell you Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus sayth the great King, the King of Asshur, What confidence is this, wherein thou trustest?
И рече им Равсак: Кажите Језекији: Овако каже велики цар, цар асирски: Каква је то узданица у коју се уздаш?
5 I say, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre: on whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
Да кажем, али су празне речи, да имаш савета и силе за рат. У шта се дакле уздаш, те си се одметнуо од мене?
6 Loe, thou trustest in this broken staffe of reede on Egypt, whereupon if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh King of Egypt, vnto all that trust in him.
Гле, уздаш се у штап од трске сломљене, у Мисир, на који ако се ко наслони, ући ће му у руку и пробошће је; такав је Фараон цар мисирски свима који се уздају у њ.
7 But if thou say to me, We trust in the Lord our God. Is not that he, whose hie places and whose altars Hezekiah tooke downe, and said to Iudah and to Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
Ако ли ми кажеш: Уздамо се у Господа Бога свог; није ли то онај чије је висине и олтаре оборио Језекија и заповедио Јуди и Јерусалиму: Пред овим олтаром клањајте се?
8 Nowe therefore giue hostages to my lorde the King of Asshur, and I wil giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders vpon them.
Хајде затеци се мом господару, цару асирском, и даћу ти две хиљаде коња, ако можеш добавити који ће јахати.
9 For howe canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my lordes seruants? and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and for horsemen?
Како ћеш дакле одбити и једног војводу између најмањих слугу господара мог? Али се ти уздаш у Мисир за кола и коњике.
10 And am I now come vp without the Lord to this land to destroy it? The Lord sayd vnto me, Goe vp against this land and destroy it.
Сврх тога, еда ли сам ја без Господа дошао на ово место да га затрем? Господ ми је рекао: Иди на ту земљу, и затри је.
11 Then sayd Eliakim and Shebna and Ioah vnto Rabshakeh, Speake, I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, (for we vnderstand it) and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.
Тада Елијаким и Сомна и Јоах рекоше Равсаку: Говори слугама својим сирски, јер разумемо, а немој нам говорити јудејски да слуша народ на зиду.
12 Then said Rabshakeh, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee to speake these wordes, and not to the men that sit on the wall? that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?
А Равсак рече: Еда ли ме је господар мој послао ка господару твом или к теби да кажем ове речи? Није ли к тим људима, што седе на зиду, да једу своју нечист и да пију своју мокраћу с вама?
13 So Rabshakeh stood, and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and sayd, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the King of Asshur.
Тада стаде Равсак и повика гласно јудејски и рече: Чујте речи великог цара асирског.
14 Thus saith the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you.
Овако каже цар: Немојте да вас вара Језекија, јер вас не може избавити.
15 Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs: this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the King of Asshur.
Немојте да вас наговори Језекија да се поуздате у Господа, говорећи: Господ ће нас избавити, овај се град неће дати у руке цару асирском.
16 Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus sayth the King of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne fig tree, and drinke euery man the water of his owne well,
Не слушајте Језекију; јер овако каже цар асирски: Учините мир са мном и ходите к мени, па једите сваки са свог чокота и сваки са своје смокве, и пијте сваки из свог студенца,
17 Till I come and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate, and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes,
Докле не дођем и однесем вас у земљу као што је ваша, у земљу обилну житом и вином, у земљу обилну хлебом и виноградима.
18 Least Hezekiah deceiue you, saying, The Lord wil deliuer vs. Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his land out of the hand of the King of Asshur?
Немојте да вас вара Језекија говорећи: Господ ће нас избавити. Је ли који између богова других народа избавио своју земљу из руке цара асирског?
19 Where is the god of Hamath, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim? or howe haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?
Где су богови ематски и арфадски? Где су богови сефарвимски? Јесу ли избавили Самарију из мојих руку?
20 Who is hee among all the gods of these lands, that hath deliuered their countrey out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?
Који су између свих богова ових земаља избавили земљу своју из моје руке? А Господ ће избавити Јерусалим из моје руке?
21 Then they kept silence, and answered him not a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere him not.
Али они ћутаху, и не одговорише му ни речи, јер цар беше заповедио и рекао: Не одговарајте му.
22 Then came Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah the steward of the house, and Shebna the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder, vnto Hezekiah with rent clothes, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
Тада Елијаким син Хелкијин, који беше над двором, и Сомна писар и Јоах син Асафов, паметар, дођоше к Језекији раздревши хаљине, и казаше му речи Равсакове.
