Isaiah 32
1 Behold, a King shall reigne in iustice, and the princes shall rule in iudgement.
ECCO, un re regnerà in giustizia; e quant'è a' principi, signoreggeranno in dirittura.
2 And that man shall bee as an hiding place from the winde, and as a refuge for the tempest: as riuers of water in a drie place, and as the shadowe of a great rocke in a weary land.
E quell'uomo sarà come un ricetto dal vento, e [come] un nascondimento dal nembo; come rivi d'acque in luogo arido, come l'ombra d'una gran roccia in terra asciutta.
3 The eyes of the seeing shall not be shut, and the eares of them that heare, shall hearken.
E gli occhi di quelli che veggono non saranno [più] abbagliati, e le orecchie di quelli che odono staranno attente.
4 And the heart of the foolish shall vnderstand knowledge, and the tongue of the stutters shalbe ready to speake distinctly.
E il cuore degl'inconsiderati intenderà scienza, e la lingua de' balbettanti parlerà speditamente e nettamente.
5 A nigard shall no more be called liberall, nor the churle riche.
Lo stolto non sarà più chiamato principe, e l'avaro non sarà [più] detto magnifico.
6 But the nigarde will speake of nigardnesse, and his heart will worke iniquitie, and do wickedly, and speake falsely against the Lord, to make emptie the hungrie soule, and to cause the drinke of the thirstie to faile.
Perciocchè l'uomo da nulla parla scelleratezza, e il suo cuore opera iniquità, usando ipocrisia, e pronunziando parole di disviamento contro al Signore; per render vuota l'anima dell'affamato, e far mancar da bere all'assetato.
7 For the weapons of the churle are wicked: hee deuiseth wicked counsels, to vndoe the poore with lying words: and to speake against the poore in iudgement.
E gli strumenti dell'avaro [sono] malvagi, [ed] egli prende scellerati consigli, per distruggere i poveri, con parole di falsità, eziandio quando il bisognoso parla dirittamente.
8 But the liberall man will deuise of liberall things, and he will continue his liberalitie.
Ma il principe prende consigli da principe, e si leva per far cose degne di principe.
9 Rise vp, ye women that are at ease: heare my voyce, ye carelesse daughters: hearken to my wordes.
Donne agiate, levatevi, udite la mia voce; fanciulle, che vivete sicure, porgete gli orecchi al mio ragionamento.
10 Yee women, that are carelesse, shall be in feare aboue a yeere in dayes: for the vintage shall faile, and the gatherings shall come no more.
Un anno dopo l'altro voi sarete in gran turbamento, o [voi], che vivete sicure; perciocchè sarà mancata la vendemmia, la ricolta non verrà [più].
11 Yee women, that are at ease, be astonied: feare, O yee carelesse women: put off the clothes: make bare, and girde sackcloth vpon the loynes.
O donne agiate, abbiate spavento; tremate, [voi] che vivete sicure; spogliatevi ignude, e cingetevi [di sacchi] sopra i lombi;
12 Men shall lament for the teates, euen for the pleasant fieldes, and for the fruitefull vine.
percotendovi le mammelle, per li be' campi, per le vigne fruttifere.
13 Vpon the lande of my people shall growe thornes and briers: yea, vpon all the houses of ioye in the citie of reioysing,
Spine e pruni cresceranno sopra la terra del mio popolo; anzi sopra ogni casa di diletto, [e sopra] la città trionfante.
14 Because the palace shalbe forsaken, and the noise of the citie shalbe left: the towre and fortresse shalbe dennes for euer, and the delite of wilde asses, and a pasture for flockes,
Perciocchè i palazzi saranno abbandonati, la città piena di popolo sarà lasciata; i castelli e le fortezze saranno [ridotte] in perpetuo in caverne, in sollazzo d'asini salvatici, in paschi di gregge.
15 Vntill the Spirit be powred vpon vs from aboue, and the wildernes become a fruitfull fielde, and the plenteous fielde be counted as a forest.
Finchè lo Spirito sia sparso sopra noi da alto, e che il deserto divenga un Carmel, e Carmel sia reputato per una selva.
16 And iudgement shall dwel in the desert, and iustice shall remaine in the fruitfull fielde.
Allora il giudicio abiterà nel deserto, e la giustizia dimorerà in Carmel.
17 And the worke of iustice shall bee peace, euen the worke of iustice and quietnesse, and assurance for euer.
E la pace sarà l'effetto della giustizia; e ciò che la giustizia opererà [sarà] riposo e sicurtà, in perpetuo.
18 And my people shall dwell in the tabernacle of peace, and in sure dwellings, and in safe resting places.
E il mio popolo abiterà in una stanza di pace, e in tabernacoli sicurissimi, e in luoghi tranquilli di riposo;
19 When it haileth, it shall fall on the forest, and the citie shall be set in the lowe place.
ma egli grandinerà, con caduta della selva; e la città sarà abbassata ben basso.
20 Blessed are ye that sowe vpon all waters, and driue thither the feete of the oxe and the asse.
Beati voi, che seminate lungo ogni acqua, [e che] lasciate andar libero il piè del bue, e dell'asino!
