Isaiah 30
1 Wo to the rebellious children, sayth the Lord, that take counsell, but not of me, and couer with a couering, but not by my spirit, that they may lay sinne vpon sinne:
Ve de genstridige Børn, siger Herren, de, som holde Raad, der ikke ere af mig, og slutte Pagt, men ikke efter min Aand, og som lægge Synd til Synd!
2 Which walke forth to goe downe into Egypt (and haue not asked at my mouth) to strengthen them selues with the strength of Pharaoh, and trust in the shadowe of Egypt.
de, som gaa hen for at drage ned til Ægypten uden at adspørge min Mund for at styrke sig ved Faraos Magt og at søge Ly under Ægyptens Skygge.
3 But the strength of Pharaoh shalbe your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
Thi Faraos Magt skal blive eder til Beskæmmelse og det Ly under Ægyptens Skygge til Skam.
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his Ambassadours came vnto Hanes.
Thi deres Fyrster have været i Zoan, og deres Bud ere komne til Hanes.
5 They shalbe all ashamed of the people that cannot profite them, nor helpe nor doe them good, but shalbe a shame and also a reproche.
Alle blive de til Skamme ved et Folk, som ikke gavner dem, ikke er til Hjælp eller til Gavn, men kun til Beskæmmelse og til Skændsel.
6 The burden of the beasts of the South, in a land of trouble and anguish, from whence shall come the yong and olde lyon, the viper and fierie flying serpent against them that shall beare their riches vpon the shoulders of the coltes, and their treasures vpon the bounches of the camels, to a people that cannot profite.
Profeti imod de Dyr, der drage imod Syd. Gennem Nøds og Trængsels Land, hvor der er Løvinder og Løver, Slanger og flyvende Drager, føre de deres Gods paa Folernes Ryg og deres Liggendefæ paa Kamelernes Pukkel ned til et Folk, som ikke kan gavne dem.
7 For the Egyptians are vanitie, and they shall helpe in vaine. Therefore haue I cried vnto her, Their strength is to sit still.
Thi Ægypterne — deres Hjælp er Forfængelighed og Tant; derfor kalder jeg det: „En Rahab, som sidder stille”.
8 Now go, and write it before them in a table, and note it in a booke that it may be for the last day for euer and euer:
Kom nu, skriv det paa en Tavle for dem, og prent det i en Bog, at det kan staa til den kommende Dag, altid, indtil evig Tid.
9 That it is a rebellious people, lying children, and children that would not heare the law of the Lord.
Thi det er et genstridigt Folk, løgnagtige Børn, Børn, som ikke ville høre Herrens Lov,
10 Which say vnto the Seers, See not: and to the Prophets, Prophecie not vnto vs right things: but speake flattering things vnto vs: prophecie errours.
som sige til Seerne: I maa ikke have Syner; og til Skuerne: I maa ikke skue os de Ting, som ere rette; siger os smigrende Ord, skuer bedragelige Ting;
11 Depart out of the way: go aside out of the path: cause the holy one of Israel to cease from vs.
viger bort fra Vejen, bøjer af fra Stien; lader os have Ro for den Hellige i Israel!
12 Therefoe thus saith the holy one of Israel, Because you haue cast off this worde, and trust in violence, and wickednes, and stay thereupon,
Derfor, saa siger Israels Hellige: Efterdi I forkaste dette Ord og forlade eder paa Vold og Krogvej og støtte eder derved:
13 Therefore this iniquitie shalbe vnto you as a breach that falleth, or a swelling in an hie wall, whose breaking commeth suddenly in a moment.
Derfor skal denne Misgerning blive eder som en Revne, der truer med Fald, og som giver sig ud i en høj Mur, hvis Brud kommer hastigt, i et Øjeblik.
14 And the breaking thereof is like the breaking of a potters pot, which is broken without pitie, and in the breaking thereof is not found a sheard to take fire out of the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.
Ja, han skal sønderbryde den, som naar man sønderbryder en Pottemagers Krukke, han skal sønderslaa uden Skaansel, og der skal ikke findes iblandt det sønderslagne deraf et Skaar til at tage Ild med af Arnestedet eller til at øse Vand med af en Brønd.
15 For thus sayd the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel, In rest and quietnes shall ye be saued: in quietnes and in confidence shall be your strength, but ye would not.
Thi saa sagde den Herre, Herre, den Hellige i Israel: Ved Omvendelse og Stilhed skulle I frelses, i Rolighed og i Tillid skal eders Styrke være; men I vilde ikke.
16 For ye haue sayd, No, but we wil flee away vpon horses. Therefore shall ye flee. We will ride vpon the swiftest. Therefore shall your persecuters be swifter.
Men I sagde: Nej, thi vi ville fly til Hest, derfor skulle I fly; og vi ville ride paa lette Heste, derfor skulle eders Forfølgere ogsaa vorde lette.
17 A thousand as one shall flee at the rebuke of one: at the rebuke of fiue shall ye flee, till ye be left as a ship maste vpon the top of a mountaine, and as a beaken vpon an hill.
Et Tusinde skal fly for eens Skælden; for fem, som skælde, skulle I fly, indtil I blive tilovers som en Stang oven paa et Bjerg og som et Banner paa en Høj.
18 Yet therefore will the Lord waite, that he may haue mercy vpon you, and therefore wil he be exalted, that hee may haue compassion vpon you: for the Lord is the God of iudgement. Blessed are all they that waite for him.
Og derfor bier Herren, indtil han kan benaade eder, og derfor holder han sig i det høje, indtil han kan forbarme sig over eder; thi Herren er Dommens Gud, salige ere alle, som bie efter ham.
19 Surely a people shall dwell in Zion, and in Ierusalem: thou shalt weepe no more: he wil certainly haue mercy vpon thee at the voyce of thy crye: when he heareth thee, he wil answere thee.
Thi du Folk i Zion, du som bor i Jerusalem! du skal ikke græde; han skal benaade dig paa dit Raabs Røst, han skal svare dig, naar han hører den.
20 And when the Lord hath giuen you the bread of aduersitie, and the water of affliction, thy raine shalbe no more kept backe, but thine eyes shall see thy raine.
Og Herren skal give eder Angest til Brød og Trængsel til Vand, og ingen af dine Lærere skal ydermere drage sig tilbage; men dine Øjne skulle se dine Lærere.
21 And thine eares shall heare a worde behind thee, saying, This is the way, walke ye in it, when thou turnest to the right hand, and when thou turnest to the left.
Og dine Øren skulle høre bag dig et Ord, der siger: „Dette er Vejen, gaar paa den!” naar I afvige til højre eller venstre Side.
22 And ye shall pollute the couering of the images of siluer, and the riche ornament of thine images of golde, and cast them away as a menstruous cloth, and thou shalt say vnto it, Get thee hence.
Og I skulle holde det Sølv for urent, som dine udskaarne Billeder ere beslagne med, og dit støbte Billedes Guldovertræk; du skal bortkaste dem som noget urent; du skal sige til dem: „Herud!”
23 Then shall hee giue raine vnto thy seede, when thou shalt sowe the ground, and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shalbe fat and as oyle: in that day shall thy cattell be fed in large pastures.
Da skal han give Regn til din Sæd, hvormed du besaar Jorden, og Brød af Jordens Grøde, og dette skal være fedt og saftigt; dit Kvæg skal den Dag græsse paa en vidtstrakt Eng.
24 The oxen also and the yong asses, that till the ground, shall eate cleane prouender, which is winowed with the shoouel and with the fanne.
Ogsaa Øksnene og Folerne, som bearbejde Jorden, skulle æde saltet Foder, som er kastet med Skuffe og med Kasteskovl.
25 And vpon euery hie mountaine, and vpon euery hie hill shall there be riuers and streames of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers shall fall.
Og paa hvert højt Bjerg og paa hver ophøjet Høj skal der være Bække, Strømme af Vand paa det store Slags Dag, naar Taarne falde.
26 Moreouer, the light of the moone shall be as the light of the sunne, and the light of the sunne shalbe seuen folde, and like the light of seuen dayes in the day that the Lord shall binde vp the breach of his people, and heale the stroke of their wound.
Og Maanens Lys skal være som Solens Lys, og Solens Lys skal være syv Fold som de syv Dages Lys, paa den Dag, da Herren forbinder sit Folks Brøst og læger dets Vunders Saar.
27 Beholde, the Name of the Lord commeth from farre, his face is burning, and the burden thereof is heauy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a deuouring fire.
Se, Herrens Navn kommer langvejs fra, hans Vrede brænder, og mægtigt hæver den sig; hans Læber ere fulde af Fortørnelse, og hans Tunge er som en fortærende Ild.
28 And his spirit is as a riuer that ouerfloweth vp to the necke: it deuideth asunder, to fanne the nations with the fanne of vanitie, and there shall be a bridle to cause them to erre in the chawes of the people.
Og hans Aande er som en Bæk, der løber over, som naar indtil Halsen, til at fælde Hedningerne i Fordærvelsens Sold, og et Bidsel, der fører vild, lægges i Folkenes Kæber.
29 But there shall be a song vnto you as in the night, when solemne feast is kept: and gladnes of heart, as he that commeth with a pipe to goe vnto the mount of the Lord, to the mightie one of Israel.
Men hos eder skal være Sang, som paa en Nat, naar man helliger en Højtid; og der skal være Hjertens Glæde, som naar man gaar med Piber for at komme til Herrens Bjerg, til Israels Klippe.
30 And the Lord shall cause his glorious voyce to be heard, and shall declare the lighting downe of his arme with the anger of his countenance, and flame of a deuouring fire, with scattering and tempest, and hailestones.
Og sin majestætiske Røst skal Herren lade høre, og sin sænkede Arm skal han lade se i sin Vredes Harme og med fortærende Ildslue, med Skybrud og Vandskyl og Hagelstene.
31 For with the voyce of the Lord shall Asshur be destroyed, which smote with the rod.
Thi for Herrens Røst forfærdes Assur, som slaar med Staven.
32 And in euery place that ye staffe shall passe, it shall cleaue fast, which the Lord shall lay vpon him with tabrets and harpes: and with battels, and lifting vp of hands shall he fight against it.
Og det skal ske, saa ofte det beskikkede Ris, som Herren lader falde paa dem, svinges, saa høres Trommer og Harper; thi i omtumlende Krige skal han stride imod dem.
33 For Tophet is prepared of olde: it is euen prepared for the King: hee hath made it deepe and large: the burning thereof is fire and much wood: the breath of the Lord, like a riuer of brimstone, doeth kindle it.
Thi et Brandsted er alt beredt, det er og beredt til Kongen, dybt og vidt; dets Baal har Ild og Ved i Mangfoldighed, Herrens Aande, der er som en Svovlstrøm, antænder det.
