Isaiah 3

1 For lo, the Lord God of hostes will take away from Ierusalem and from Iudah the stay and the strength: euen all the staye of bread, and all the stay of water,

Διότι ιδού, ο Κύριος, ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, θέλει αφαιρέσει από της Ιερουσαλήμ και από του Ιούδα υποστήριγμα και βοήθειαν, άπαν το υποστήριγμα του άρτου και άπαν το υποστήριγμα του ύδατος,

2 The strong man, and the man of warre, the iudge and the prophet, the prudent and the aged,

ισχυρόν και πολεμιστήν, κριτήν και προφήτην και συνετόν και πρεσβύτερον,

3 The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent man.

πεντηκόνταρχον και έντιμον και σύμβουλον και σοφόν τεχνίτην και συνετόν γοητευτήν.

4 And I will appoint children to bee their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them.

Και θέλω δώσει παιδάρια άρχοντας αυτών, και νήπια θέλουσιν εξουσιάζει επ' αυτών.

5 The people shalbe oppressed one of another, and euery one by his neighbour: the children shall presume against the ancient, and the vile against the honourable.

Και ο λαός θέλει καταδυναστεύεσθαι, άνθρωπος υπό ανθρώπου, και έκαστος υπό του πλησίον αυτού· το παιδίον θέλει αλαζονεύεσθαι προς τον γέροντα, και ο ποταπός προς τον έντιμον.

6 When euery one shall take holde of his brother of the house of his father, and say, Thou hast clothing: thou shalt bee our prince, and let this fall be vnder thine hand.

Εάν τις πιάση τον αδελφόν αυτού εκ του οίκου του πατρός αυτού, λέγων, Ιμάτιον έχεις, γενού αρχηγός ημών, και ο αφανισμός ούτος ας ήναι υπό την χείρα σου.

7 In that day hee shall sweare, saying, I cannot bee an helper: for there is no bread in mine house, nor clothing: therefore make me no prince of the people.

Εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλει ομόσει, λέγων, δεν θέλω γείνει θεραπευτής διότι εν τη οικία μου δεν είναι ούτε άρτος ούτε ιμάτιον· μη με κάμητε αρχηγόν του λαού

8 Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory.

διότι ηφανίσθη η Ιερουσαλήμ και έπεσεν ο Ιούδας, επειδή η γλώσσα αυτών και τα έργα αυτών ήναι εναντία εις τον Κύριον, παροξύνωσι τους οφθαλμούς της δόξης αυτού.

9 The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues.

Η ύψωσις του προσώπου αυτών μαρτυρεί εναντίον αυτών· και κηρύττουσι την αμαρτίαν αυτών ως τα Σόδομα· δεν κρύπτουσιν αυτήν. Ουαί εις την ψυχήν αυτών διότι ανταπέδωκαν εις εαυτούς κακά.

10 Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes.

Είπατε προς τον δίκαιον ότι καλόν θέλει είσθαι εις αυτόν· διότι θέλει φάγει τον καρπόν των έργων αυτού.

11 Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him.

Ουαί εις τον άνομον κακόν θέλει είσθαι εις αυτόν διότι η ανταπόδοσις των χειρών αυτού θέλει γείνει εις αυτόν.

12 Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Τον λαόν μου, παιδάρια καταδυναστεύουσιν αυτόν, και γυναίκες εξουσιάζουσιν επ' αυτού. Λαέ μου, οι οδηγοί σου σε κάμνουσι να πλανάσαι και καταστρέφουσι την οδόν των βημάτων σου.

13 The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people.

Ο Κύριος εξεγείρεται διά να δικάση και ίσταται διά να κρίνη τους λαούς.

14 The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.

Ο Κύριος θέλει εισέλθει εις κρίσιν μετά των πρεσβυτέρων του λαού αυτού και μετά των αρχόντων αυτού· διότι σεις κατεφάγετε τον αμπελώνα· τα αρπάγματα του πτωχού είναι εν ταις οικίαις υμών.

15 What haue ye to do, that ye beate my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord, euen the Lord of hoasts?

Διά τι καταδυναστεύετε τον λαόν μου και καταθλίβετε τα πρόσωπα των πτωχών; λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός των δυνάμεων.

16 The Lord also saith, Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched out neckes, and with wandering eyes, walking and minsing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feete,

Και λέγει Κύριος, Επειδή αι θυγατέρες της Σιών υπερηφανεύθησαν και περιπατούσι με υψωμένον τράχηλον και με όμματα άσεμνα, περιπατούσαι τρυφηλά και τρίζουσαι με τους πόδας αυτών,

17 Therefore shall the Lord make the heades of the daughters of Zion balde, and the Lord shall discouer their secrete partes.

διά τούτο ο Κύριος θέλει φαλακρώσει την κορυφήν της κεφαλής των θυγατέρων της Σιών, και ο Κύριος θέλει εκκαλύψει την αισχύνην αυτών.

18 In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres,

Εν εκείνη τη ημέρα ο Κύριος θέλει αφαιρέσει την δόξαν των τριζόντων στολισμών και τα εμπλόκια και τους μηνίσκους,

19 The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets,

τα περιδέραια και τα βραχιόλια και τας καλύπτρας,

20 The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings,

τους κεκρυφάλους και τας περισκελίδας και τα κεφαλόδεσμα και τας μυροθήκας και τα ενώτια,

21 The rings and the mufflers,

τα δακτυλίδια και τα έρρινα,

22 The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes,

τας ποικίλας στολάς και τα επενδύματα και τα περικαλύμματα και τα θυλάκια,

23 And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes.

τα κάτοπτρα και τα λεπτά λινά και τας μίτρας και τα θέριστρα.

24 And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie.

Και αντί της γλυκείας οσμής θέλει είσθαι δυσωδία και αντί ζώνης σχοινίον και αντί καλλικομίας φαλάκρωμα και αντί επιστομαχίου περίζωμα σάκκινον ηλιόκαυμα αντί ώραιότητος.

25 Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell.

Οι άνδρες σου θέλουσι πέσει εν μαχαίρα και η δύναμίς σου εν πολέμω.

26 Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground.

Και αι πύλαι αυτής θέλουσι στενάξει και πενθήσει και αυτή θέλει κοίτεσθαι επί του εδάφους ηρημωμένη.
