Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crowne of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim: for his glorious beautie shall be a fading flowre, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fat, and are ouercome with wine.
| وای بر سامره! وای بر این شهری که با دره‌های حاصلخیز احاطه شده و مایۀ افتخار میگساران اسرائیل است! شراب، رهبران اسرائیل را از پای درآورده است. جلال اسرائیل که همانند تاج گلی بر سر رهبرانش بود، در حال پژمردن است. |
2 Beholde, the Lord hath a mightie and strong hoste, like a tempest of haile, and a whirlewinde that ouerthroweth, like a tempest of mightie waters that ouerflowe, which throwe to the ground mightily.
| خداوند کسی را دارد که زورآور و توانا است. خداوند او را مانند تگرگ شدید و طوفان مهلک و سیلاب خروشان بر سرزمین اسرائیل می‌فرستد تا آن را فرا بگیرد. |
3 They shall be troden vnder foote, euen the crowne and the pride of the drunkards of Ephraim.
| آنگاه شهری که مایهٔ افتخار میگساران اسرائیل است زیر پاها پایمال خواهد شد. |
4 For his glorious beautie shall be a fading floure, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fatte, and as the hastie fruite afore sommer, which when hee that looketh vpon it, seeth it, while it is in his hand, he eateth it.
| شکوه و زیبایی دره‌های حاصلخیز آن ناگهان از بین خواهد رفت درست مانند نوبر انجیر که به محض دیده شدن بر سر شاخه‌ها، چیده و خورده می‌شود. |
5 In that day shall the Lord of hostes be for a crowne of glory, and for a diademe of beautie vnto the residue of his people:
| روزی خواهد آمد که خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خود برای بازماندگان قومش تاج جلال و زیبایی خواهد بود. |
6 And for a spirite of iudgement to him that sitteth in iudgement, and for strength vnto them that turne away the battell to the gate.
| او به قضات توانایی تشخیص خواهد بخشید و به سربازان قدرت خواهد داد تا از دروازه‌های شهر دفاع کنند. |
7 But they haue erred because of wine, and are out of the way by strong drinke: the priest and the prophet haue erred by strong drinke: they are swallowed vp with wine: they haue gone astraye through strong drinke: they faile in vision: they stumble in iudgement.
| اما اینک اشخاص مست اورشلیم را اداره می‌کنند! حتی کاهنان و انبیا نیز مستند؛ شراب ایشان را چنان مست و گیج کرده که قادر نیستند پیامهای خدا را دریابند و آنها را به مردم رسانده، آنان را ارشاد کنند. |
8 For all their tables are full of filthy vomiting: no place is cleane.
| سفره‌هایشان پر از استفراغ و کثافت است و هیچ جای پاکیزه‌ای دیده نمی‌شود. |
9 Whome shall he teache knowledge? and whome shall he make to vnderstand the thinges that hee heareth? them that are weyned from the milke, and drawen from the breastes.
| آنها می‌گویند: «اشعیا به چه کسی تعلیم می‌دهد؟ چه کسی به تعلیم او احتیاج دارد؟ تعلیم او فقط برای بچه‌ها خوب است! |
10 For precept must be vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle, and there a litle.
| او هر مطلبی را بارها برای ما تکرار می‌کند و کلمه به کلمه توضیح می‌دهد.» |
11 For with a stammering tongue and with a strange language shall he speake vnto this people.
| چون مردم به این تعلیم گوش نمی‌دهند، خدا قوم بیگانه‌ای را خواهد فرستاد تا به زبان بیگانه با قوم خود سخن بگوید! |
12 Vnto whome hee saide, This is the rest: giue rest to him that is weary: and this is the refreshing, but they would not heare.
| خدا به قوم خود فرموده بود: «اینجا جای استراحت است؛ پس خستگان استراحت کنند. اینجا مکان آرامی است.» اما ایشان نخواستند بشنوند. |
13 Therefore shall the worde of the Lord be vnto them precept vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle and there a litle, that they may goe, and fall backward, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
| پس خداوند هر مطلبی را بارها برای ایشان تکرار خواهد کرد و آن را کلمه به کلمه توضیح خواهد داد. این قوم افتاده، خرد خواهند شد و در دام خواهند افتاد و سرانجام اسیر خواهند شد. |
14 Wherefore, heare the worde of the Lord, ye scornefull men that rule this people, which is at Ierusalem.
| پس ای حکمرانان اورشلیم که همه چیز را به باد مسخره می‌گیرید، به آنچه خداوند می‌فرماید توجه کنید. |
15 Because ye haue said, We haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge runne ouer, and passe through, it shall not come at vs: for we haue made falshood our refuge, and vnder vanitie are we hid, (Sheol h7585)
| شما با فخر می‌گویید: «با مرگ معامله کرده‌ایم و با دنیای مردگان قرارداد بسته‌ایم. اطمینان داریم که هرگاه مصیبتی رخ دهد هیچ گزندی به ما نخواهد رسید؛ زیرا با دروغ و فریب برای خود مخفیگاه ساخته‌ایم.» (Sheol h7585) |
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will laye in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Hee that beleeueth, shall not make haste.
| پس خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: «اینک من سنگ بنیادی در صهیون می‌نهم، سنگ گرانبها و آزموده شده. این یک سنگ زاویۀ مطمئنی است که می‌شود بر آن بنا کرد. هر که توکل کند ترسان و لرزان نخواهد شد. |
17 Iudgement also will I laye to the rule, and righteousnesse to the balance, and the haile shall sweepe away the vaine confidence, and the waters shall ouerflowe the secret place.
| انصاف، ریسمان آن و عدالت، شاقول آن خواهد بود.» بارش تگرگ پناهگاه شما را که بر دروغ استوار است ویران خواهد کرد و سیل مخفیگاه شما را خواهد برد. |
18 And your couenant with death shalbe disanulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall runne ouer and passe through, then shall ye be trode downe by it. (Sheol h7585)
| قراردادی که با مرگ و دنیای مردگان بسته‌اید باطل خواهد شد، بنابراین وقتی مصیبت بیاید شما را از پای درمی‌آورد. (Sheol h7585) |
19 When it passeth ouer, it shall take you away: for it shall passe through euery morning in the day, and in the night, and there shalbe onely feare to make you to vnderstand the hearing.
| مصیبت روز و شب به سراغتان خواهد آمد و شما را گرفتار خواهد کرد. هر بار که پیامی از خدا بشنوید وحشت سراپایتان را فرا خواهد گرفت. |
20 For the bed is streight that it can not suffice, and the couering narowe that one can not wrappe himselfe.
| شما مانند کسی خواهید بود که می‌خواهد بخوابد اما بسترش کوتاهتر از آنست که بر آن دراز بکشد و لحافش تنگ‌تر از آنکه او را بپوشاند. |
21 For the Lord shall stand as in mount Perazim: hee shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his worke, his strage worke, and bring to passe his acte, his strange acte.
| خداوند با خشم و غضب خواهد آمد تا کارهای شگفت‌انگیز خود را به انجام رساند همان‌گونه که در کوه فراصیم و درهٔ جبعون این کار را کرد. |
22 Nowe therefore be no mockers, least your bondes increase: for I haue heard of the Lord of hostes a consumption, euen determined vpon the whole earth.
| پس، از تمسخر دست بردارید مبادا مجازات شما سنگینتر شود، زیرا خداوند، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان به من گفته که قصد دارد تمام زمین را نابود کند. |
23 Hearken ye, and heare my voyce: hearken ye, and heare my speach.
| به من گوش کنید! به سخنان من توجه کنید! |
24 Doeth the plowe man plowe all the day, to sowe? doeth he open, and breake the clots of his ground?
| آیا کشاورز تمام وقت خود را صرف شخم زدن زمین می‌کند و در آن هیچ بذری نمی‌کارد؟ آیا او فقط به آماده کردن خاک سرگرم است و بس؟ |
25 When he hath made it plaine, wil he not then sowe the fitches, and sowe cummin, and cast in wheat by measure, and the appointed barly and rye in their place?
| البته او می‌داند که باید آن را آماده کند تا در آن تخم بکارد. می‌داند تخم گشنیز و زیره را کجا بپاشد و بذر گندم و جو و ذرت را کجا بکارد. |
26 For his God doeth instruct him to haue discretion, and doeth teach him.
| او می‌داند چه کند زیرا خدایش به او یاد داده است. |
27 For fitches shall not be threshed with a threshing instrument, neither shall a cart wheele be turned about vpon the cummin: but ye fitches are beaten out with a staffe, and cummin with a rod.
| او هرگز برای کوبیدن گشنیز و زیره از خرمنکوب استفاده نمی‌کند، بلکه با چوب آنها را می‌کوبد. |
28 Bread corne when it is threshed, hee doeth not alway thresh it, neither doeth the wheele of his cart still make a noyse, neither will he breake it with the teeth thereof.
| برای تهیهٔ آرد، او می‌داند چه مدت باید گندم را خرمنکوبی کند و چگونه چرخ ارابهٔ خود را بر آن بگرداند بدون اینکه اسبان ارابه، گندم را له کنند. |
29 This also commeth from the Lord of hostes, which is wonderfull in counsell, and excellent in workes.
| تمام این دانش از خداوند لشکرهای آسمان که رأی و حکمتش عجیب و عظیم است صادر می‌گردد. |
