Isaiah 26
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Iudah, We haue a strong citie: saluation shall God set for walles and bulwarkes.
An jenem Tage wird dieses Lied im Lande Juda gesungen werden: Wir haben eine starke Stadt; Rettung setzt er zu Mauern und zum Bollwerk.
2 Open ye the gates that the righteous nation, which keepeth the trueth, may enter in.
Machet auf die Tore, daß einziehe ein gerechtes Volk, [Anderswo mit "Nation" übersetzt] welches Treue bewahrt!
3 By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee.
Den festen Sinn bewahrst du in Frieden, in Frieden; denn er vertraut auf dich.
4 Trust in the Lord for euer: for in the Lord God is strength for euermore.
Vertrauet auf Jehova ewiglich; denn in Jah, Jehova, ist ein Fels der Ewigkeiten.
5 For hee will bring downe them that dwell on hie: the hie citie he will abase: euen vnto the ground wil he cast it downe, and bring it vnto dust.
Denn er hat Hochwohnende niedergebeugt, die hochragende Stadt; er hat sie niedergestürzt, zu Boden gestürzt, hat sie niedergestreckt bis in den Staub.
6 The foote shall treade it downe, euen the feete of the poore, and the steppes of the needie.
Es zertritt sie der Fuß, die Füße der Elenden, die Tritte der Armen. -
7 The way of the iust is righteousnesse: thou wilt make equall the righteous path of the iust.
Der Pfad des Gerechten ist gerade; [O. eben] du bahnest gerade [O. eben] den Weg [Eig. das Geleise] des Gerechten.
8 Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee.
Ja, wir haben dich, Jehova, erwartet auf dem Pfade deiner Gerichte; nach deinem Namen und nach deinem Gedächtnis [d. h. nach demjenigen, wodurch Gott seiner gedenken macht; vergl. 2. Mose 3,15] ging das Verlangen der Seele.
9 With my soule haue I desired thee in the night, and with my spirit within mee will I seeke thee in the morning: for seeing thy iudgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learne righteousnesse.
Mit meiner Seele verlangte ich nach dir in der Nacht; ja, mit meinem Geiste in meinem Innern suchte ich dich früh; [O. eifrig] denn wenn deine Gerichte die Erde treffen, so lernen Gerechtigkeit die Bewohner des Erdkreises.
10 Let mercie bee shewed to the wicked, yet hee will not learne righteousnesse: in the land of vprightnesse will he do wickedly, and will not beholde the maiestie of the Lord.
Wird dem Gesetzlosen Gnade erzeigt, so lernt er nicht Gerechtigkeit: im Lande der Geradheit handelt er unrecht und sieht nicht die Majestät Jehovas.
11 O Lord, they will not beholde thine hie hande: but they shall see it, and bee confounded with the zeale of the people, and the fire of thine enemies shall deuoure them.
Jehova, deine Hand war hoch erhoben, sie wollten nicht schauen. Schauen werden sie den Eifer um das Volk und beschämt werden; ja, deine Widersacher, Feuer wird sie verzehren. -
12 Lord, vnto vs thou wilt ordeine peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workes for vs.
Jehova, du wirst uns Frieden geben, denn du hast ja alle unsere Werke für uns vollführt.
13 O Lord our God, other lords beside thee, haue ruled vs, but we will remember thee onely, and thy Name.
Jehova, unser Gott, über uns haben Herren geherrscht außer dir; durch dich allein gedenken wir [d. h. rühmend] deines Namens.
14 The dead shall not liue, neither shall the dead arise, because thou hast visited and scattered them, and destroyed all their memorie.
Tote leben nicht auf, Schatten [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 14,9] erstehen nicht wieder; darum hast du sie heimgesucht und vertilgt und hast all ihr Gedächtnis zunichte gemacht.
15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord: thou hast increased the nation: thou art made glorious: thou hast enlarged all the coastes of the earth.
Du hast die Nation vermehrt, Jehova, du hast die Nation vermehrt, du hast dich verherrlicht; du hast hinausgerückt alle Grenzen [Eig. Enden] des Landes.
16 Lord, in trouble haue they visited thee: they powred out a prayer when thy chastening was vpon them.
Jehova, in der Bedrängnis haben sie dich gesucht; [Eig. vermißt] als deine Züchtigung sie traf, flehten sie mit flüsterndem Gebet. [Eig. ergossen sie ein flüsterndes Gebet]
17 Like as a woman with childe, that draweth neere to the trauaile, is in sorow, and cryeth in her paines, so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lord.
Wie eine Schwangere, die, dem Gebären nahe, sich windet und schreit in ihren Wehen: also sind wir gewesen, Jehova, fern von deinem Angesicht.
18 We haue coceiued, we haue borne in paine, as though we should haue brought forth winde: there was no helpe in the earth, neither did the inhabitants of the world fall.
Wir gingen schwanger, wir wanden uns; es war, als ob wir Wind geboren hätten: Rettung verschafften wir dem Lande nicht, und die Bewohner des Erdkreises sind nicht gefallen. [O. und Bewohner des Erdkreises wurden keine geboren]
19 Thy dead men shall liue: euen with my body shall they rise. Awake, and sing, ye that dwel in dust: for thy dewe is as the dew of herbes, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Deine Toten werden aufleben, meine Leichen wieder erstehen. Wachet auf und jubelt, die ihr im Staube lieget! [Eig. ihr Bewohner des Staubes] Denn ein Tau des Lichtes [Eig. der Lichter] ist dein Tau; und die Erde wird die Schatten [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 14,9] auswerfen.
20 Come, my people: enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doores after thee: hide thy selfe for a very litle while, vntill the indignation passe ouer.
Geh hin, mein Volk, tritt ein in deine Gemächer und schließe deine Tür hinter dir zu; verbirg dich einen kleinen Augenblick, bis der Zorn vorübergehe!
21 For lo, the Lord commeth out of his place, to visite the iniquitie of the inhabitants of the earth vpon them: and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more hide her slaine.
Denn siehe, Jehova tritt hervor aus seiner Stätte, um die Ungerechtigkeit [O. Schuld] der Bewohner der Erde an ihnen heimzusuchen; und die Erde enthüllt ihr Blut und bedeckt nicht länger ihre Ermordeten.
