Isaiah 20

1 In the yeere that Tartan came to Ashdod, (when Sargon King of Asshur sent him) and had fought against Ashdod, and taken it,

Im Jahr, da Tharthan gen Asdod kam, als ihn gesandt hatte Sargon, der König zu Assyrien, und stritt wider Asdod und gewann sie,

2 At the same time spake the Lord by ye hand of Isaiah the sonne of Amoz, saying, Goe, and loose the sackecloth from thy loynes, and put off thy shooe from thy foote. And he did so, walking naked and barefoote.

zur selbigen Zeit redete der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn Amoz, und sprach: Gehe hin und zieh ab den Sack von deinen Lenden und zieh deine Schuhe aus von deinen Füßen. Und er tat also, ging nackend und barfuß.

3 And the Lord said, Like as my seruant Isaiah hath walked naked, and barefoote three yeeres, as a signe and wonder vpon Egypt, and Ethiopia,

Da sprach der HERR: Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja nackend und barfuß gehet zum Zeichen und Wunder dreier Jahre über Ägypten und Mohrenland,

4 So shall the King of Asshur take away the captiuitie of Egypt, and the captiuitie of Ethiopia, both yong men and olde men, naked and barefoote, with their buttockes vncouered, to the shame of Egypt.

also wird der König zu Assyrien hintreiben das gefangene Ägypten und vertriebene Mohrenland, beide jung und alt, nackend und barfuß, mit bloßer Scham, zu Schanden Ägyptens.

5 And they shall feare, and be ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

Und sie werden erschrecken und mit Schanden bestehen über dem Mohrenlande, darauf sie sich verließen, und wiederum das Mohrenland über den Ägyptern, welcher sie sich rühmeten.

6 Then shall the inhabitant of this yle say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we fledde for helpe to be deliuered from the King of Asshur, and howe shall we be deliuered?

Und die Einwohner dieser Inseln werden sagen zur selbigen Zeit: Ist das unsere Zuversicht, da wir hinflohen um Hilfe, daß wir errettet würden von dem Könige zu Assyrien? Wie fein sind wir entronnen!
