Isaiah 18
1 Oh, the lande shadowing with winges, which is beyond the riuers of Ethiopia,
O pays qu’ombragent les ailes (des voiles), situé par-delà les fleuves de l’Ethiopie,
2 Sending ambassadours by the Sea, euen in vessels of reedes vpon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation that is scattered abroade, and spoyled, vnto a terrible people from their beginning euen hitherto: a nation by litle and litle, euen troden vnder foote, whose land the floods haue spoyled.
qui expédies des messagers par mer et les fais naviguer sur les eaux dans des canots de papyrus! "Allez, messagers agiles, vers une nation à la taille élancée, au visage glabre, vers un peuple redoutable depuis qu’il existe, peuple marchant droit son chemin, foulant tout aux pieds et dont les fleuves sillonnent le sol!"
3 Al ye the inhabitants of ye world and dwellers in the earth, shall see when he setteth vp a signe in the mountaines, and when he bloweth the trumpet, ye shall heare.
Vous tous qui habitez le globe et qui peuplez la terre, quand la bannière se dressera sur les montagnes, regardez; quand sonnera la trompette, écoutez!
4 For so the Lord saide vnto me, I will rest and beholde in my tabernacle, as the heate drying vp the rayne, and as a cloude of dewe in the heate of haruest.
Voici, en effet, ce que m’a dit le Seigneur: "Je demeurerai tranquille, et de ma résidence je contemplerai les événements, calme comme la lumière sereine du soleil matinal, comme le nuage qui apporte la rosée pendant les chaleurs de la moisson."
5 For afore the haruest when the floure is finished, and the fruite is riping in the floure, then he shall cut downe the branches with hookes, and shall take away, and cut off the boughes:
C’Est que, avant le temps de la récolte, la floraison une fois achevée et les fleurs devenues des grappes mûrissantes, Dieu coupera les sarments avec des serpes, il enlèvera, abattra les pampres.
6 They shall be left together vnto the foules of the mountaines, and to the beastes of the earth: for the foule shall sommer vpon it, and euery beast of the earth shall winter vpon it.
Ils seront abandonnés tous ensemble aux oiseaux de proie des montagnes et aux animaux de la terre: ces oiseaux en feront leur pâture tout le long de l’été, et les bêtes de la plaine tout le long de l’hiver.
7 At that time shall a present be brought vnto the Lord of hostes, (a people that is scattered abroade, and spoyled, and of a terrible people from their beginning hitherto, a nation, by litle and litle euen troden vnder foote, whose land the riuers haue spoyled) to the place of the Name of the Lord of hostes, euen the mount Zion.
En ce temps, des présents seront envoyés à l’Eternel-Cebaot de la part d’une nation à la taille élancée, au visage glabre, d’un peuple redoutable depuis qu’il existe, peuple marchant droit son chemin, foulant tout aux pieds et dont les fleuves sillonnent le sol: ils seront offerts au lieu de résidence du nom de l’Eternel-Cebaot, sur la montagne de Sion.
