Isaiah 17
1 The burden of Damascus. Beholde, Damascus is taken away from being a citie, for it shall be a ruinous heape.
Gánh nặng về Đa-mách. Nầy, Đa-mách bị trừ ra, không kể làm thành nữa, và sẽ trở nên một đống đổ nát.
2 The cities of Aroer shall be forsaken: they shall be for the flockes: for they shall lye there, and none shall make them afraide.
Các thành A-rô-e bị bỏ hoang, sẽ làm chỗ cho bầy chiên nằm nghỉ, chẳng ai kinh động.
3 The munition also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdome from Damascus, and the remnant of Aram shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
Đồn lũy của Eùp-ra-im sẽ chẳng còn, ngôi nước của Đa-mách và dân sót của Sy-ri cũng vậy, khác nào sự vinh hiển của con cái Y-sơ-ra-ên, Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
4 And in that day the glorie of Iaakob shall be impouerished, and the fatnes of his flesh shalbe made leane.
Xảy ra trong ngày đó, sự vinh hiển của Gia-cốp sẽ giảm đi, xác thịt mập mạp đổi ra gầy ốm.
5 And it shalbe as when the haruest man gathereth the corne, and reapeth the eares with his arme, and he shall be as he that gathereth the eares in the valley of Rephaim.
Sẽ xảy ra như con gặt túm các ngọn lúa, rồi dùng cánh tay cắt lấy bông; lại như những gié lúa mót được ở nơi trũng Rê-pha-im vậy.
6 Yet a gathering of grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an oliue tree, two or three beries are in the top of the vpmost boughes, and foure or fiue in the hie branches of the fruite thereof, sayeth the Lord God of Israel.
Nhưng sẽ còn sót lại như là của mót, khác nào khi người ta rung cây ô-li-ve, còn hai ba trái trên chót nhánh rất cao, hoặc bốn năm trái trên những nhành xa của cây sai tríu. Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên phán vậy.
7 At that day shall a man looke to his maker, and his eyes shall looke to the holy one of Israel.
Trong ngày đó, người ta sẽ ngó về Đấng tạo mình, và mắt trông thẳng đến Đấng Thánh của Y-sơ-ra-ên.
8 And hee shall not looke to the altars, the workes of his owne hands, neither shall he looke to those thinges, which his owne fingers haue made, as groues and images.
Họ sẽ không còn xây mắt về các bàn thờ, là công việc của tay mình; và không còn ngó các đồ vật bởi ngón tay mình chế ra, hoặc các tượng Aùt-tạt-tê, hoặc các trụ mặt trời.
9 In that day shall the cities of their strength be as the forsaking of boughes and branches, which they did forsake, because of the children of Israel, and there shall be desolation.
Trong ngày đó, các thành bền vững của nó sẽ giống như những nơi đổ nát, hoặc trong rừng, hoặc trên đỉnh núi, là những nơi đã bị bỏ hoang trước mặt con cái Y-sơ-ra-ên; xứ nầy sẽ bị bỏ hoang vậy.
10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy saluation, and hast not remembred the God of thy strength, therefore shalt thou set pleasant plantes, and shalt graffe strange vine branches:
Vì ngươi đã quên Đức Chúa Trời của sự cứu ngươi, chẳng nhớ đến vầng đá sức mạnh ngươi. Vậy nên ngươi trồng cây tốt, lại trồng những gốc nho khác giống.
11 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to growe, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seede to florish: but the haruest shall be gone in the day of possession, and there shalbe desperate sorrowe.
Đang ngày ngươi trồng thì rào giậu, vừa lúc ban mai làm cho hột giống nở hoa; nhưng trong ngày buồn bực rầu rĩ thì mùa màng mất ráo!
12 Ah, the multitude of many people, they shall make a sounde like the noyse of the sea: for the noyse of the people shall make a sounde like the noyse of mightie waters.
Oâi! các dân đông đảo làm xôn xao là dường nào, khác nào như biển gầm! Các dân tộc chạy xông tới như nhiều nước đổ mạnh!
13 The people shall make a sounde like the noise of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee farre off, and shalbe chased as the chaffe of the mountaines before the winde, and as a rolling thing before the whirlewinde.
Thật, các dân tộc chạy xông tới như nhiều nước đổ ầm ạc; nhưng Ngài sẽ quở trách họ, thì đều trốn xa, bị đùa đi như rơm rác trên núi khi gió thổi, như luồng bụi gặp cơn bão.
14 And loe, in the euening there is trouble: but afore the morning it is gone. This is the portion of them that spoyle vs, and the lot of them that robbe vs.
Đang buổi chiều, nầy, có sự sợ hãi; kíp trước khi ban mai đã thành ra hư không. Aáy là phần của kẻ đã bóc lột chúng ta, là số phận xảy đến cho kẻ cướp chúng ta vậy.
