Isaiah 16
1 Send yee a lambe to the ruler of the worlde from the rocke of the wildernesse, vnto the mountaine of the daughter Zion.
J'enverrai comme des reptiles sur la terre. La montagne de Sion, ma fille, n'est-elle pas une roche déserte?
2 For it shall be as a birde that flieth, and a nest forsaken: the daughters of Moab shall be at the foordes of Arnon.
Comme le petit oiseau enlevé à sa mère, ainsi tu seras, fille de Moab. A ton tour, Arnon,
3 Gather a cousel, execute iudgement: make thy shadowe as the night in the midday: hide them that are chased out: bewray not him that is fled.
Prends plus mûrement conseil, fais à Moab un abri pour y pleurer toujours; ils voudraient l'ombre pour fuir en plein midi, et ils sont dans la stupeur. Si tu veux échapper à la captivité,
4 Let my banished dwell with thee: Moab be thou their couert from the face of the destroyer: for the extortioner shall ende: the destroyer shalbe consumed, and the oppressour shall cease out of the land.
O Moab, que mes fugitifs demeurent chez toi; et ils seront pour toi un refuge aux yeux de ton persécuteur; car ton auxiliaire t'est ravi; il a péri le prince qui foulait la terre.
5 And in mercy shall the throne be prepared, and hee shall sit vpon it in stedfastnesse, in the tabernacle of Dauid, iudging, and seeking iudgement, and hasting iustice.
Mais un trône sera érigé avec miséricorde, et un roi y siégera avec vérité dans le tabernacle de David, jugeant et cherchant la justice, et plein de zèle pour l'équité.
6 We haue heard of the pride of Moab, (he is very proud) euen his pride, and his arrogancie, and his indignation, but his lies shall not be so.
Nous avons appris l'insolence de Moab; son insolence était extrême, et je l'ai abattue; et ses divinations ne se sont point accomplies.
7 Therefore shall Moab howle vnto Moab: euery one shall howle: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourne, yet they shalbe striken.
Moab poussera des hurlements de douleur, tous les Moabites verseront des pleurs; médite sur les habitants de Seth, et tu ne seras point confondue.
8 For ye vineyards of Heshbon are cut downe, and the vine of Sibmah: the lordes of the heathen haue broken the principal vines thereof: they are come vnto Iaazer: they wandred in the wildernesse: her goodly branches stretched out them selues, and went ouer the sea.
Les champs d'Ésebon et la vigne de Sebama seront dans le deuil. O vous qui dévorez les nations, foulez aux pieds les vignes de Sebama jusqu'à Jaser; ne venez pas en foule, errez dans le désert; les rejetons qui avaient été plantés ont été délaissés, et ils ont passé du côté de la mer.
9 Therefore will I weepe with the weeping of Iaazer, and of the vine of Sibmah, O Heshbon: and Elealeh, I will make thee drunke with my teares, because vpon thy sommer fruits, and vpon thy haruest a showting is fallen.
C'est pourquoi je pleurerai la vigne de Sebama, comme ceux de Jazer la pleurent. Ésebon et Éléalé ont jeté bas tes arbres, ô Moab; et moi, je foulerai tes blés au temps de la moisson, et tes ceps au temps de la vendange; et tout tombera.
10 And gladnes is taken away, and ioy out of the plentifull fielde: and in the vineyardes shall be no singing nor shouting for ioy: the treader shall not tread wine in the wine presses: I haue caused the reioycing to cease.
Et la joie et les fêtes seront enlevées à tes vignes, et dans tes vignes il n'y aura plus de réjouissances; et on ne foulera plus le vin dans tes pressoirs, car il n'y aura plus de vendange.
11 Wherefore, my bowels shall sounde like an harpe for Moab, and mine inwarde partes for Ker-haresh.
C'est pourquoi mes entrailles pleureront sur Moab comme une cithare; Seigneur, vous avez tout renouvelé en moi, comme un mur en ruines.
12 And when it shall appeare that Moab shall be wearie of his hie places, then shall hee come to his temple to praie, but he shall not preuaile.
Et il arrivera pour sa confusion que Moab, lassé de ses autels, ira vers les idoles fabriquées de ses mains, et il les priera; mais elles ne pourront le sauver.
13 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken against Moab since that time.
Telle est la prédiction que le Seigneur a prononcée sur Moab.
14 And nowe the Lord hath spoken, saying, In three yeres, as the yeeres of a hireling, and the glorie of Moab shall be contemned in all the great multitude, and the remnant shalbe very small and feeble.
Et maintenant je dis: Dans trois ans, trois ans d'homme à gages, la gloire de Moab sera confondue avec toutes ses nombreuses richesses; et il n'échappera qu'un petit nombre de ses enfants, et ils seront sans honneur.
