Isaiah 15
1 The burden of Moab. Surely Ar of Moab was destroied, and brought to silece in a night: surely Kir of Moab was destroied, and brought to silence in a night.
Oracle sur Moab. Oui, dans la nuit où elle a été saccagée, Ar-Moab a été ruinée! Dans la nuit où elle a été saccagée, Kir-Moab a été ruinée!
2 He shall goe vp to the temple, and to Dibon to the hie places to weepe: for Nebo and for Medeba shall Moab howle: vpon all their heades shalbe baldnesse, and euery beard shauen.
On monte au temple de Chamos et à Dibon, aux hauts-lieux, pour pleurer; sur Nebo et Médéba, Moab se lamente, Toute tête est rasée, toute barbe est coupée.
3 In their streetes shall they bee gilded with sackecloth: on the toppes of their houses, and in their streetes euery one shall howle, and come downe with weeping.
Dans ses rues, ils se revêtent de sacs; sur ses toits et sur ses places publiques; tous poussent des hurlements, fondent en larmes.
4 And Heshbon shall crie, and Elealeh: their voyce shall bee heard vnto Iahaz: therefore the warriers of Moab shall showt: the soule of euery one shall lament in him selfe.
Hésebon et Eléalé jettent des cris; on entend leur voix jusqu’à Jahas. C’est pourquoi les guerriers de Moab se lamentent, et son âme est tremblante.
5 Mine heart shall crie for Moab: his fugitiues shall flee vnto Zoar, an heiffer of three yere olde: for they shall goe vp with weeping by the mounting vp of Luhith: and by the way of Horonaim they shall raise vp a crie of destruction.
Mon cœur gémit sur Moab; ses défenseurs sont déjà à Ségor, à Eglath-Schelischiah. Oui, la montée de Luhith, on la gravit en pleurant; et sur le chemin de Horonaïm, on pousse des cris de détresse.
6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be dried vp: therefore the grasse is withered, the herbes consumed, and there was no greene herbe.
Car les eaux de Nimrim sont taries, l’herbe est desséchée, le gazon est détruit, il n’y a plus de verdure.
7 Therefore what euery man hath left, and their substance shall they beare to the brooke of the willowes.
Ce qu’ils ont pu sauver et leurs provisions, ils les transportent au delà du torrent des Saules.
8 For the crie went round about the borders of Moab: and the howling thereof vnto Eglaim, and the skriking thereof vnto Beer Elim,
Car les cris ont fait le tour du territoire de Moab; ses hurlements retentissent jusqu’à Eglaïm, ses hurlements jusqu’à Béer-Elim;
9 Because the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more vpon Dimon, euen lyons vpon him that escapeth of Moab, and to the remnant of the land.
car les eaux de Dimon sont pleines de sang. Car je ferai venir sur Dimon un surcroît de malheur, un lion aux réchappés de Moab, à ce qui sera resté dans le pays.
