Isaiah 14
1 For the Lord wil haue compassion of Iaakob, and wil yet chuse Israel, and cause them to rest in their owne lande: and the stranger shall ioyne him selfe vnto them, and they shall cleaue to the house of Iaakob.
Porque el SEÑOR tendrá piedad de Jacob, y todavía escogerá a Israel; y les hará reposar en su tierra; y a ellos se unirán extranjeros, y se allegarán a la familia de Jacob.
2 And the people shall receiue them and bring them to their owne place, and the house of Israel shall possesse them in the land of the Lord, for seruants and handmaids: and they shall take them prisoners, whose captiues they were, and haue rule ouer their oppressours.
Y los tomarán los pueblos, y los traerán a su lugar; y la casa de Israel los poseerá por siervos y criadas en la tierra del SEÑOR; y cautivarán a los que los cautivaron, y señorearán a los que los oprimieron.
3 And in that day when the Lord shall giue thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy feare, and from the sore bodage, wherein thou didest serue,
Y será que en el día que el SEÑOR te diera reposo de tu trabajo, y de tu temor, y de la dura servidumbre en que te hicieron servir,
4 Then shalt thou take vp this prouerbe against the King of Babel, and say, Howe hath the oppressor ceased? and the gold thirsty Babel rested?
entonces levantarás esta parábola sobre el rey de Babilonia, y dirás: ¡Cómo cesó el opresor, cómo cesó la ciudad codiciosa del oro!
5 The Lord hath broken the rodde of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers:
Quebrantó el SEÑOR el bastón de los impíos, el cetro de los señores;
6 Which smote the people in anger with a continuall plague, and ruled the nations in wrath: if any were persecuted, he did not let.
que con ira hería los pueblos de llaga perpetua, el cual se enseñoreaba de los gentiles con furor; al perseguido no defendió.
7 The whole worlde is at rest and is quiet: they sing for ioye.
Descansó, sosegó toda la tierra, cantaron alabanzas.
8 Also the firre trees reioyced of thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid downe, no hewer came vp against vs.
Aun las hayas se regocijaron a causa de ti, y los cedros del Líbano, diciendo: Desde que tú pereciste, no ha subido cortador contra nosotros.
9 Hel beneath is mooued for thee to meete thee at thy comming, raising vp the deade for thee, euen all the princes of the earth, and hath raised from their thrones all the Kinges of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
El infierno abajo se espantó de ti; te despertó muertos que en tu venida saliesen a recibirte, hizo levantar de sus tronos a todos los príncipes de la tierra, a todos los reyes de los gentiles. (Sheol h7585)
10 All they shall crie, and saie vnto thee, Art thou become weake also as we? art thou become like vnto vs?
Todos ellos darán voces, y te dirán: ¿Tú también enfermaste como nosotros, y como nosotros fuiste?
11 Thy pompe is brought downe to ye graue, and the sounde of thy violes: the worme is spred vnder thee, and the wormes couer thee. (Sheol h7585)
Se depositó en el sepulcro tu soberbia, y el sonido de tus vihuelas; gusanos serán tu cama, y gusanos te cubrirán. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heauen, O Lucifer, sonne of the morning? and cutte downe to the grounde, which didest cast lottes vpon the nations?
¡Cómo caíste del cielo, oh Lucifer, hijo de la mañana! Cortado fuiste por tierra, el que echabas suerte sobre los gentiles.
13 Yet thou saidest in thine heart, I will ascende into heauen, and exalt my throne aboue beside the starres of God: I will sitte also vpon the mount of the Congregation in the sides of the North.
Tú que decías en tu corazón: Subiré al cielo, en lo alto junto a las estrellas de Dios ensalzaré mi trono, y en el monte del testimonio me sentaré, y en los lados del aquilón;
14 I wil ascend aboue ye height of the cloudes, and I will be like the most high.
Sobre las alturas de las nubes subiré, y seré semejante al Altísimo.
Mas tú derribado eres en el sepulcro, a los lados del abismo. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee, shall looke vpon thee and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, and that did shake the kingdomes?
Se han de inclinar hacia ti los que te vieren y te considerarán, diciendo: ¿Es éste aquel varón que hacía temblar la tierra, que trastornaba los reinos.
17 He made the worlde as a wildernesse, and destroied the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners.
Que puso el mundo como un desierto? ¿Que asoló sus ciudades? ¿Que a sus presos nunca abrió la cárcel?
18 All the Kings of the nations, euen they all sleepe in glorie, euery one in his owne house.
Todos los reyes de los gentiles, todos ellos yacen con honra cada uno en su casa.
19 But thou art cast out of thy graue like an abominable branch: like the raiment of those that are slaine, and thrust thorowe with a sword, which goe downe to the stones of the pit, as a carkeise troden vnder feete.
Mas tú echado eres de tu sepulcro como tronco abominable; como vestido de muertos pasados a cuchillo, que descendieron al fondo de la sepultura; como cuerpo muerto hollado.
20 Thou shalt not be ioyned with them in the graue, because thou hast destroied thine owne lande, and slaine thy people: the seede of the wicked shall not be renoumed for euer.
No serás contado con ellos en la sepultura; porque tú destruiste tu tierra, mataste a tu pueblo. No será para siempre la simiente de los malignos.
21 Prepare a slaughter for his children, for the iniquitie of their fathers: let them not rise vp nor possesse the land, nor fil the face of the world with enemies.
Aparejad sus hijos para el matadero por la maldad de sus padres; no se levanten, ni posean la tierra, ni llenen la faz del mundo de ciudades.
22 For I wil rise vp against them (sayth the Lord of hostes) and will cut off from Babel the name and the remnant and the sonne, and the nephew, sayth the Lord:
Porque yo me levantaré sobre ellos, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y raeré de Babilonia el nombre y las reliquias, hijo y nieto, dice el SEÑOR.
23 And I wil make it a possession to ye hedgehogge, and pooles of water, and I will sweepe it with the besome of destruction, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
Y la pondré en posesión de erizos, y en lagunas de aguas; y la barreré con escobas de destrucción, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
24 The Lord of hostes hath sworne, saying, Surely like as I haue purposed, so shall it come to passe, and as I haue consulted, it shall stand:
El SEÑOR de los ejércitos juró, diciendo, se hará de la manera que lo he pensado, y será confirmado como lo he determinado;
25 That I will breake to pieces Asshur in my land, and vpon my mountaines will I treade him vnder foote: so that his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall be taken from off their shoulder.
quebrantaré al asirio en mi tierra, y en mis montes lo hollaré; y su yugo será apartado de ellos, y su carga será quitada de su hombro.
26 This is the counsell that is consulted vpon the whole worlde, and this is the hande stretched out ouer all the nations,
Este es el consejo que está acordado sobre toda la tierra; y ésta es aquella mano extendida sobre todos los gentiles.
27 Because the Lord of hostes hath determined it, and who shall disanull it? and his hande is stretched out, and who shall turne it away?
Porque el SEÑOR de los ejércitos lo ha determinado, ¿y quién lo invalidará? Y aquella su mano extendida, ¿quién la hará tornar?
28 In the yeere that King Ahaz died, was this burden.
En el año que murió el rey Acaz fue esta carga:
29 Reioyce not, (thou whole Palestina) because the rod of him that did beat thee, is broken for out of the serpents roote shall come forth a cockatrise, and the fruit therof shalbe a firy flying serpent.
no te alegres tú, toda Filistea, por haberse quebrado la vara del que te hería. Porque de la raíz de la culebra saldrá basilisco, y su fruto, serpiente voladora.
30 For the first borne of the poore shall be fed, and the needie shall lie downe in safetie: and I will kill thy roote with famine, and it shall slay thy remnant.
Y los primogénitos de los pobres serán apacentados, y los menesterosos se acostarán seguramente; y haré morir de hambre tu raíz, y tus reliquias matará.
31 Howle, O gate, crie, O citie: thou whole lande of Palestina art dissolued, for there shall come from the North a smoke, and none shalbe alone, at his time appointed.
Aúlla, oh puerta, clama, oh ciudad; desleída Filistea toda tú, porque humo vendrá del aquilón; no quedará uno solo en sus asambleas.
32 What shall then one answere the messengers of the Gentiles? That the Lord hath stablished Zion, and the poore of his people shall trust in it.
¿Y qué se responderá a los mensajeros de los gentiles? Que el SEÑOR fundó a Sion, y que en ella tendrán confianza los afligidos de su pueblo.
