Isaiah 14
1 For the Lord wil haue compassion of Iaakob, and wil yet chuse Israel, and cause them to rest in their owne lande: and the stranger shall ioyne him selfe vnto them, and they shall cleaue to the house of Iaakob.
Căci DOMNUL va avea milă de Iacob şi totuşi va alege pe Israel şi îi va pune în propria lor ţară şi străinii le vor fi alăturaţi şi se vor lipi de casa lui Iacob.
2 And the people shall receiue them and bring them to their owne place, and the house of Israel shall possesse them in the land of the Lord, for seruants and handmaids: and they shall take them prisoners, whose captiues they were, and haue rule ouer their oppressours.
Şi poporul îi va lua şi îi va duce la locul lor şi casa lui Israel îi va stăpâni în ţara DOMNULUI ca servitori şi roabe şi îi vor lua captivi, pe cei ai căror captivi au fost; şi vor domni peste opresorii lor.
3 And in that day when the Lord shall giue thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy feare, and from the sore bodage, wherein thou didest serue,
Şi se va întâmpla în ziua când DOMNUL îţi va da odihnă din întristarea ta şi din teama ta şi din robia grea în care ai fost făcut să serveşti,
4 Then shalt thou take vp this prouerbe against the King of Babel, and say, Howe hath the oppressor ceased? and the gold thirsty Babel rested?
Că vei duce acest proverb împotriva împăratului Babilonului şi vei spune: Cum a încetat opresorul! Oraşul de aur s-a sfârşit!
5 The Lord hath broken the rodde of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers:
DOMNUL a frânt toiagul celor stricaţi şi sceptrul conducătorilor.
6 Which smote the people in anger with a continuall plague, and ruled the nations in wrath: if any were persecuted, he did not let.
Cel ce a lovit pe popor în furie cu o lovitură neîncetată, cel ce a condus naţiunile în mânie este persecutat [şi] nimeni nu împiedică aceasta.
7 The whole worlde is at rest and is quiet: they sing for ioye.
Întregul pământ este în odihnă, este liniştit; ei izbucnesc în cântare.
8 Also the firre trees reioyced of thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid downe, no hewer came vp against vs.
Da, brazii [şi] cedrii Libanului se bucură de tine, spunând: De când eşti doborât niciun tăietor nu s-a urcat împotriva noastră.
9 Hel beneath is mooued for thee to meete thee at thy comming, raising vp the deade for thee, euen all the princes of the earth, and hath raised from their thrones all the Kinges of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
Iadul de dedesubt s-a mutat pentru tine, să te întâmpine la venirea ta; stârneşte pe morţi pentru tine, chiar pe cei mai de seamă ai pământului; a ridicat de pe tronurile lor pe toţi împăraţii naţiunilor. (Sheol h7585)
10 All they shall crie, and saie vnto thee, Art thou become weake also as we? art thou become like vnto vs?
Toţi îţi vor vorbi şi îţi vor spune: Ai devenit de asemenea slab ca noi, ai devenit asemenea nouă?
11 Thy pompe is brought downe to ye graue, and the sounde of thy violes: the worme is spred vnder thee, and the wormes couer thee. (Sheol h7585)
Fastul tău este coborât în mormânt, de asemenea şi zgomotul violelor tale; viermele s-a răspândit sub tine şi viermii te acoperă. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heauen, O Lucifer, sonne of the morning? and cutte downe to the grounde, which didest cast lottes vpon the nations?
Cum ai căzut din cer, Lucifer, fiu al dimineţii, cum eşti retezat la pământ, cel care ai slăbit naţiunile!
13 Yet thou saidest in thine heart, I will ascende into heauen, and exalt my throne aboue beside the starres of God: I will sitte also vpon the mount of the Congregation in the sides of the North.
Fiindcă ai spus în inima ta: Eu mă voi înălţa la cer, îmi voi ridica tronul deasupra stelelor lui Dumnezeu, voi şedea de asemenea pe muntele adunării, în părţile de nord;
14 I wil ascend aboue ye height of the cloudes, and I will be like the most high.
Eu mă voi înălţa deasupra înălţimilor norilor, voi fi ca Cel Preaînalt.
Totuşi vei fi coborât în iad, la marginile gropii. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee, shall looke vpon thee and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, and that did shake the kingdomes?
Cei care te văd se vor uita atent la tine [şi] vor lua aminte la tine, spunând: Este acesta bărbatul care a făcut pământul să se cutremure, care a scuturat împărăţii,
17 He made the worlde as a wildernesse, and destroied the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners.
Care a făcut lumea ca un pustiu şi a distrus cetăţile acesteia, care nu a deschis casa prizonierilor lui?
18 All the Kings of the nations, euen they all sleepe in glorie, euery one in his owne house.
Toţi împăraţii naţiunilor, toţi zac în glorie, fiecare în propria-i casă.
19 But thou art cast out of thy graue like an abominable branch: like the raiment of those that are slaine, and thrust thorowe with a sword, which goe downe to the stones of the pit, as a carkeise troden vnder feete.
Dar tu eşti aruncat din mormântul tău ca un lăstar urâcios şi ca hainele celor ucişi, străpunşi de sabie, care coboară la pietrele gropii, ca un trup mort călcat în picioare.
20 Thou shalt not be ioyned with them in the graue, because thou hast destroied thine owne lande, and slaine thy people: the seede of the wicked shall not be renoumed for euer.
Nu le vei fi alăturat la îngropare, deoarece ţi-ai distrus ţara [şi] ţi-ai ucis poporul, sămânţa făcătorilor de rău nu va fi niciodată renumită.
21 Prepare a slaughter for his children, for the iniquitie of their fathers: let them not rise vp nor possesse the land, nor fil the face of the world with enemies.
Pregăteşte măcel pentru copiii lui din cauza nelegiuirii părinţilor lor, ca ei să nu se ridice, nici să nu stăpânească ţara, nici să nu umple faţa lumii cu cetăţi.
22 For I wil rise vp against them (sayth the Lord of hostes) and will cut off from Babel the name and the remnant and the sonne, and the nephew, sayth the Lord:
Fiindcă mă voi ridica împotriva lor, spune DOMNUL oştirilor, şi voi stârpi din Babilon numele şi rămăşiţa şi fiu şi nepot, spune DOMNUL.
23 And I wil make it a possession to ye hedgehogge, and pooles of water, and I will sweepe it with the besome of destruction, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
Îl voi face de asemenea o stăpânire pentru bâtlan şi iazuri de apă şi îl voi mătura cu mătura nimicirii, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
24 The Lord of hostes hath sworne, saying, Surely like as I haue purposed, so shall it come to passe, and as I haue consulted, it shall stand:
DOMNUL oştirilor a jurat, spunând: Da, precum am gândit, astfel se va întâmpla; şi cum am hotărât, astfel va rămâne;
25 That I will breake to pieces Asshur in my land, and vpon my mountaines will I treade him vnder foote: so that his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall be taken from off their shoulder.
Că voi frânge pe asirian în ţara mea şi pe munţii mei îl voi călca în picioare, atunci jugul lui se va depărta de ei şi povara lui se va depărta de pe umerii lor.
26 This is the counsell that is consulted vpon the whole worlde, and this is the hande stretched out ouer all the nations,
Acesta este planul hotărât asupra întregului pământ; şi aceasta este mâna întinsă peste toate naţiunile.
27 Because the Lord of hostes hath determined it, and who shall disanull it? and his hande is stretched out, and who shall turne it away?
Căci DOMNUL oştirilor a hotărât şi cine va anula? Şi mâna lui este întinsă şi cine o va întoarce?
28 In the yeere that King Ahaz died, was this burden.
În anul în care împăratul Ahaz a murit a fost această povară.
29 Reioyce not, (thou whole Palestina) because the rod of him that did beat thee, is broken for out of the serpents roote shall come forth a cockatrise, and the fruit therof shalbe a firy flying serpent.
Nu te bucura, întreagă Palestină, fiindcă nuiaua celui ce te-a lovit este frântă, căci din rădăcina şarpelui va ieşi o năpârcă şi rodul ei va fi un şarpe zburător înfocat.
30 For the first borne of the poore shall be fed, and the needie shall lie downe in safetie: and I will kill thy roote with famine, and it shall slay thy remnant.
Şi întâiul născut al săracului va mânca şi cel nevoiaş se va întinde în siguranţă; şi îţi voi ucide rădăcina cu foamete, iar el îţi va ucide rămăşiţa.
31 Howle, O gate, crie, O citie: thou whole lande of Palestina art dissolued, for there shall come from the North a smoke, and none shalbe alone, at his time appointed.
Urlă poartă; strigă cetate; tu întreagă Palestină, eşti topită; căci va veni un fum din nord şi nimeni nu va fi singur la timpurile lui hotărâte.
32 What shall then one answere the messengers of the Gentiles? That the Lord hath stablished Zion, and the poore of his people shall trust in it.
Ce va răspunde atunci cineva mesagerilor naţiunii? Că DOMNUL a întemeiat Sionul şi cei săraci ai poporului său se vor încrede în acesta.
