Isaiah 14
1 For the Lord wil haue compassion of Iaakob, and wil yet chuse Israel, and cause them to rest in their owne lande: and the stranger shall ioyne him selfe vnto them, and they shall cleaue to the house of Iaakob.
Perciocchè il Signore avrà pietà di Giacobbe, ed eleggerà ancora Israele, e li farà riposar sopra la lor terra; e gli stranieri si aggiungeranno con loro, e si accompagneranno con la casa di Giacobbe.
2 And the people shall receiue them and bring them to their owne place, and the house of Israel shall possesse them in the land of the Lord, for seruants and handmaids: and they shall take them prisoners, whose captiues they were, and haue rule ouer their oppressours.
E i popoli li prenderanno, e li condurranno al luogo loro; e la casa d'Israele li possederà nella terra del Signore, per servi e per serve; e terranno in cattività quelli che li aveano tenuti in cattività, e signoreggeranno sopra i loro oppressatori.
3 And in that day when the Lord shall giue thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy feare, and from the sore bodage, wherein thou didest serue,
Ed avverrà che nel giorno che il Signore ti avrà dato riposo del tuo affanno, del tuo commovimento, e della dura servitù, nella quale altri ti avrà fatto servire,
4 Then shalt thou take vp this prouerbe against the King of Babel, and say, Howe hath the oppressor ceased? and the gold thirsty Babel rested?
tu proverbierai così il re di Babilonia, e dirai: Come è restato l'esattore? [come] è cessato il tributo?
5 The Lord hath broken the rodde of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers:
Il Signore ha rotto il bastone degli empi, la verga de' dominatori.
6 Which smote the people in anger with a continuall plague, and ruled the nations in wrath: if any were persecuted, he did not let.
Colui che con furore percoteva i popoli di percosse, che non si potevano schivare, il qual signoreggiava le genti con ira, [ora è] perseguito, senza che possa difendersi.
7 The whole worlde is at rest and is quiet: they sing for ioye.
Tutta la terra è in riposo, e quieta; [gli uomini] fanno risonar grida di allegrezza.
8 Also the firre trees reioyced of thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid downe, no hewer came vp against vs.
Gli abeti ancora [e] i cedri del Libano si son rallegrati di te, [dicendo: ] Da che tu sei stato atterrato, niuno è salito contro a noi, per tagliarci.
9 Hel beneath is mooued for thee to meete thee at thy comming, raising vp the deade for thee, euen all the princes of the earth, and hath raised from their thrones all the Kinges of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
L'inferno disotto si è commosso per te, [per andarti] incontro alla tua venuta; egli ha fatti muovere i giganti, tutti i principi della terra, per te; egli ha fatti levare d'in su i lor troni tutti i re delle nazioni. (Sheol h7585)
10 All they shall crie, and saie vnto thee, Art thou become weake also as we? art thou become like vnto vs?
Essi tutti ti faranno motto, e diranno: Anche tu sei stato fiaccato come noi, [e] sei divenuto simile a noi.
11 Thy pompe is brought downe to ye graue, and the sounde of thy violes: the worme is spred vnder thee, and the wormes couer thee. (Sheol h7585)
La tua alterezza è stata posta giù nell'inferno, [al] suono de' tuoi salteri; e si è fatto sotto te un letto di vermini, e i lombrici son la tua coverta. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heauen, O Lucifer, sonne of the morning? and cutte downe to the grounde, which didest cast lottes vpon the nations?
Come sei caduto dal cielo, o stella mattutina, figliuol dell'aurora? [come] sei stato riciso [ed abbattuto] in terra? come sei caduto sopra le genti, tutto spossato?
13 Yet thou saidest in thine heart, I will ascende into heauen, and exalt my throne aboue beside the starres of God: I will sitte also vpon the mount of the Congregation in the sides of the North.
E pur tu dicevi nel cuor tuo: Io salirò in cielo, io innalzerò il mio trono sopra le stelle di Dio, e sederò nel monte della raunanza, ne' lati di verso il Settentrione.
14 I wil ascend aboue ye height of the cloudes, and I will be like the most high.
Io salirò sopra i luoghi eccelsi delle nuvole, io mi farò somigliante all'Altissimo.
Pur sei stato calato nell'inferno nel fondo della fossa. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee, shall looke vpon thee and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, and that did shake the kingdomes?
Quelli che ti vedranno ti riguarderanno, [e] ti considereranno [dicendo: È] costui quell'uomo che facea tremare la terra, che scrollava i regni?
17 He made the worlde as a wildernesse, and destroied the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners.
Il quale ha ridotto il mondo come in un deserto, ed ha distrutte le sue città, [e] non ha sciolti i suoi prigioni, [per rimandarli] a casa?
18 All the Kings of the nations, euen they all sleepe in glorie, euery one in his owne house.
Tutti quanti i re delle genti giacciono in gloria, ciascuno in casa sua.
19 But thou art cast out of thy graue like an abominable branch: like the raiment of those that are slaine, and thrust thorowe with a sword, which goe downe to the stones of the pit, as a carkeise troden vnder feete.
Ma tu sei stato gittato via dalla tua sepoltura, come un rampollo abbominevole; [come] veste di uccisi, trafitti dalla spada, che scendono alle pietre della fossa; come un corpo morto calpestato.
20 Thou shalt not be ioyned with them in the graue, because thou hast destroied thine owne lande, and slaine thy people: the seede of the wicked shall not be renoumed for euer.
Tu non sarai aggiunto con coloro nella sepoltura; perciocchè tu hai guasta la tua terra, tu hai ucciso il tuo popolo; la progenie dei malfattori non sarà nominata in perpetuo.
21 Prepare a slaughter for his children, for the iniquitie of their fathers: let them not rise vp nor possesse the land, nor fil the face of the world with enemies.
Preparate l'uccisione a' suoi figliuoli, per l'iniquità de' lor padri; acciocchè non si levino, e non posseggano la terra, e non empiano di città la superficie del mondo.
22 For I wil rise vp against them (sayth the Lord of hostes) and will cut off from Babel the name and the remnant and the sonne, and the nephew, sayth the Lord:
Io mi leverò contro a loro, dice il Signor degli eserciti; e sterminerò a Babilonia nome e rimanente, figliuolo e nipote, dice il Signore.
23 And I wil make it a possession to ye hedgehogge, and pooles of water, and I will sweepe it with the besome of destruction, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
E la ridurrò in possession di civette, e in paludi di acque; e la spazzerò con iscope di distruzione, dice il Signor degli eserciti.
24 The Lord of hostes hath sworne, saying, Surely like as I haue purposed, so shall it come to passe, and as I haue consulted, it shall stand:
IL Signor degli eserciti ha giurato, dicendo: Se egli non avviene così come io ho pensato; e [se] la cosa non è messa ad effetto, secondo il consiglio che io ho preso;
25 That I will breake to pieces Asshur in my land, and vpon my mountaines will I treade him vnder foote: so that his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall be taken from off their shoulder.
[che è], di romper l'Assiro nella mia terra, e di calcarlo sopra i miei monti; talchè il suo giogo sia rimosso da essi, e il suo incarico d'in su le loro spalle.
26 This is the counsell that is consulted vpon the whole worlde, and this is the hande stretched out ouer all the nations,
Quest'[è] il consiglio preso contro a tutta la terra; e questa [è] la mano stesa contro a tutte le genti.
27 Because the Lord of hostes hath determined it, and who shall disanull it? and his hande is stretched out, and who shall turne it away?
Perciocchè il Signor degli eserciti [ne] ha preso il consiglio; e chi l'annullerebbe? e la sua mano [è] quella che è stesa; e chi la farebbe rivolgere?
28 In the yeere that King Ahaz died, was this burden.
Questo carico fu [rivelato] nell'anno che morì il re Achaz.
29 Reioyce not, (thou whole Palestina) because the rod of him that did beat thee, is broken for out of the serpents roote shall come forth a cockatrise, and the fruit therof shalbe a firy flying serpent.
NON rallegrarti, o Palestina tutta, di ciò che la verga di colui che ti batteva è stata rotta; perciocchè dalla radice della serpe uscirà un basilisco; e il suo frutto [sarà] un serpente ardente, [e] volante.
30 For the first borne of the poore shall be fed, and the needie shall lie downe in safetie: and I will kill thy roote with famine, and it shall slay thy remnant.
E i primogeniti de' poveri pastureranno, e i bisognosi giaceranno in sicurtà; ma io farò morir di fame la tua radice, e colui ucciderà il tuo rimanente.
31 Howle, O gate, crie, O citie: thou whole lande of Palestina art dissolued, for there shall come from the North a smoke, and none shalbe alone, at his time appointed.
Urla, o porta; grida, o città; stuggiti, o Palestina tutta; perciocchè viene un fumo dal Settentrione; e niuno [se ne starà] in disparte a' tempi ordinati di esso.
32 What shall then one answere the messengers of the Gentiles? That the Lord hath stablished Zion, and the poore of his people shall trust in it.
E che risponderassi agli ambasciatori delle nazioni? Che il Signore ha fondata Sion, e che in essa i poveri afflitti del suo popolo si riducono in salvo. Il carico di Moab.
