Hosea 7
1 When I woulde haue healed Israel, then the iniquitie of Ephraim was discouered, and the wickednesse of Samaria: for they haue dealt falsly: and the theefe commeth in, and the robber spoyleth without.
apabila Aku menyembuhkan Israel, maka tersingkaplah kesalahan Efraim dan kejahatan-kejahatan Samaria: sebab mereka melakukan penipuan: pencuri mendobrak masuk, gerombolan merampas di luar.
2 And they consider not in their hearts, that I remember all their wickednes: now their owne inuentions haue beset them about: they are in my sight.
Dan tidak terpikir mereka bahwa Aku mengingat segala kejahatan mereka. Sekarangpun perbuatan-perbuatan mereka mengepung mereka, semuanya ada di hadapan wajah-Ku.
3 They make the King glad with their wickednesse, and the princes with their lies.
Mereka menyukakan raja dengan kejahatan mereka, dan para pemuka dengan kebohongan mereka.
4 They are all adulterers, and as a very ouen heated by ye baker, which ceaseth from raysing vp, and from kneading ye dough vntill it be leauened.
Sekaliannya mereka orang-orang berzinah, bagaikan dapur perapian yang menyala terus, ketika tukang bakar roti berhenti membesarkan apinya, sementara ia meremas adonan sampai menjadi muai oleh ragi.
5 This is the day of our King: the princes haue made him sicke with flagons of wine: he stretcheth out his hand to scorners.
Pada pesta raja kita mereka membuat sakit para pemuka dengan anggur yang menghangatkan; ia bersekutu dengan para pencemooh.
6 For they haue made ready their heart like an ouen whiles they lie in waite: their baker sleepeth all the night: in the morning it burneth as a flame of fire.
Batin mereka seperti dapur perapian; hati mereka menyala-nyala; semalam-malaman murka mereka surut, pada waktu pagi menyala kembali seperti api yang menjilat.
7 They are all hote as an ouen, and haue deuoured their iudges: all their Kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth vnto me.
Mereka semua sudah panas seperti dapur perapian, dan memakan habis para hakim mereka. Semua raja mereka sudah tewas, tidak ada seorang di antara mereka yang berseru kepada-Ku.
8 Ephraim hath mixt himselfe among the people. Ephraim is as a cake on the hearth not turned.
Efraim mencampurkan dirinya di antara bangsa-bangsa, Efraim telah menjadi roti bundar yang tidak dibalik.
9 Strangers haue deuoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray heares are here and there vpon him, yet he knoweth not.
Orang-orang luar memakan habis kekuatannya, tetapi ia sendiri tidak mengetahuinya; juga ia sudah banyak beruban, tetapi ia sendiri tidak mengetahuinya.
10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face, and they doe not returne to the Lord their God, nor seeke him for all this.
Kecongkakan Israel menjadi saksi terhadap dirinya, namun mereka tidak berbalik kepada TUHAN, Allah mereka, dan tidak mencari Dia kendati semuanya ini.
11 Ephraim also is like a doue deceiued, without heart: they call to Egypt: they go to Asshur.
Efraim telah menjadi merpati tolol, tidak berakal, dengan memanggil kepada Mesir, dengan pergi kepada Asyur.
12 But when they shall go, I will spred my net vpon them, and drawe them downe as the foules of the heauen: I will chastice them as their congregation hath heard.
Apabila mereka pergi, Aku akan membentangkan jaring-Ku ke atas mereka; Aku akan menurunkan mereka seperti burung-burung di udara, Aku akan menghajar mereka karena kejahatan-kejahatan mereka.
13 Wo vnto them: for they haue fled away from me: destruction shalbe vnto them, because they haue transgressed against me: though I haue redeemed them, yet they haue spoken lyes against me.
Celakalah mereka, sebab mereka melarikan diri dari pada-Ku! Binasalah mereka, sebab mereka memberontak terhadap Aku! Aku ini mau menebus mereka, tetapi mereka berdusta terhadap Aku.
14 And they haue not cryed vnto me with their hearts, when they houled vpon their beds: they assembled themselues for corne, and wine, and they rebell against me.
Seruan mereka kepada-Ku tidak keluar dari hatinya, tetapi mereka meratap di pembaringan mereka. Mereka menoreh-noreh diri karena gandum dan anggur, dan mereka berontak terhadap Aku.
15 Though I haue boud and strengthened their arme, yet doe they imagine mischiefe against me.
Sekalipun Aku telah melatih dan menguatkan lengan-lengan mereka, namun mereka merancang kejahatan terhadap Aku.
16 They returne, but not to the most high: they are like a deceitfull bowe: their princes shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongues: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
Mereka berbalik kepada Baal, mereka adalah seperti busur tipu; pemuka-pemuka mereka akan tewas oleh pedang karena ucapan mereka yang kasar. Inilah yang akan menjadi olok-olok kepada mereka di tanah Mesir.
