Hosea 5
1 O ye Priestes, heare this, and hearken ye, O house of Israel, and giue ye eare, O house of the King: for iudgement is towarde you, because you haue bene a snare on Mizpah, and a net spred vpon Tabor.
Ecoutez ceci Sacrificateurs, et vous maison d'Israël, soyez attentifs, et [vous] maison du Roi, prêtez l'oreille; car c'est à vous de faire justice; mais vous êtes devenus [comme] un piège en Mitspa, et comme un rets étendu sur Tabor.
2 Yet they were profounde, to decline to slaughter, though I haue bene a rebuker of them all.
Et ils ont subtilement inventé les moyens d'égorger les révoltés, mais je les châtierai tous.
3 I knowe Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for nowe, O Ephraim thou art become an harlot, and Israel is defiled.
Je sais qui est Ephraïm, et Israël ne m'est point inconnu: car maintenant, toi, Ephraïm, tu as commis adultère, Israël est souillé.
4 They will not giue their mindes to turne vnto their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the middes of them, and they haue not knowen the Lord.
Leurs déportements ne permettront point qu'ils retournent à leur Dieu, parce que l'esprit de fornication est au milieu d'eux, et ils ne connaissent point l'Eternel.
5 And the pride of Israel doth testifie to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquitie: Iudah also shall fall with them.
Aussi la fierté d'Israël témoignera contre lui, et Israël et Ephraïm tomberont dans leur iniquité; Juda aussi tombera avec eux.
6 They shall goe with their sheepe, and with their bullockes to seeke the Lord: but they shall not finde him: for he hath withdrawne himselfe from them.
Ils iront avec leurs brebis et leurs bœufs chercher l'Eternel, mais ils ne le trouveront point, il s'est retiré d'avec eux.
7 They haue transgressed against the Lord: for they haue begotte strange children: now shall a moneth deuoure them with their portions.
Ils se sont portés infidèlement contre l'Eternel; car ils ont engendré des enfants étrangers; maintenant un mois les dévorera avec leurs biens.
8 Blowe ye the trumpet in Gibeah, and the shaume in Ramah: crie out at Beth-auen, after thee, O Beniamin.
Sonnez du cor à Guibha, et de la trompette à Rama; sonnez avec retentissement à Bethaven; on est derrière toi, Benjamin.
9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel haue I caused to knowe the trueth.
Ephraïm sera en désolation au jour de la correction; je le fais savoir parmi les Tribus d'Israël [comme] une chose certaine.
10 The princes of Iudah were like them that remoue the bounde: therefore will I powre out my wrath vpon them like water.
Les Gouverneurs de Juda sont autant de remueurs de bornes, je répandrai sur eux ma fureur comme de l'eau.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, and broken in iudgement, because he willingly walked after the commandement.
Ephraïm est opprimé, il est brisé justement, parce que de son bon gré il est allé après le commandement.
12 Therefore wil I be vnto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Iudah as a rottennesse.
Je serai donc à Ephraïm comme la teigne, et à la maison de Juda, comme la vermoulure.
13 When Ephraim sawe his sickenes, and Iudah his wound, then went Ephraim vnto Asshur, and sent vnto King Iareb: yet coulde hee not heale you, nor cure you of your wound.
Et Ephraïm a vu sa langueur, et Juda sa plaie; Ephraïm s'en est allé vers le Roi d'Assyrie, et on a envoyé vers le Roi Jareb, mais il ne vous pourra pas guérir, et il ne pansera point la plaie pour vous en délivrer.
14 For I will be vnto Ephraim as a lyon, and as a lyons whelpe to the house of Iudah: I, euen I will spoyle, and goe away: I will take away, and none shall rescue it.
Car je serai comme un lion à Ephraïm, et comme un lionceau à la maison de Juda; c'est moi, c'est moi qui déchirerai, puis je m'en irai; j'emporterai [la proie], et il n'y aura personne qui me l'ôte.
15 I will go, and returne to my place, til they acknowledge their fault, and seeke me: in their affliction they will seeke me diligently.
Je m'en irai, et retournerai en mon lieu, jusqu'à ce qu'ils se reconnaissent coupables, et qu'ils cherchent ma face; ils me chercheront de grand matin dans leur angoisse.
