Hosea 14
1 O Israel, returne vnto the Lord thy God: for thou hast fallen by thine iniquitie.
Kehre um, Israel, zum HERRN, deinem Gott! Denn durch eigene Schuld bist du zu Fall gekommen.
2 Take vnto you words, and turne to the Lord, and say vnto him, Take away all iniquitie, and receiue vs graciously: so wil we render the calues of our lippes.
Nehmet Worte (der Reue) mit euch und kehret um zum HERRN! Sagt zu ihm: »Vergib uns alle Schuld und laß es dir gnädig gefallen, daß wir statt der Farren dir die Frucht unserer Lippen als Opfer darbringen!
3 Asshur shall not saue vs, neither wil we ride vpon horses, neither will we say any more to the worke of our handes, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherlesse findeth mercie.
Assyrien soll nicht mehr unser Helfer sein; auf Rossen wollen wir nicht mehr reiten und nicht mehr ›unser Gott!‹ sagen zum Machwerk unserer Hände; denn bei dir findet der Verwaiste Erbarmen.«
4 I wil heale their rebellion: I wil loue them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
»Ich will ihren Abfall heilen, ihnen bereitwillig Liebe erweisen; denn mein Zorn hat sich von ihnen abgewandt.
5 I will be as the dewe vnto Israel: he shall grow as the lilie and fasten his rootes, as the trees of Lebanon.
Ich will für Israel werden wie der Tau: blühen soll es wie eine Lilie und Wurzeln schlagen wie die Zedern (des Libanons);
6 His branches shall spread, and his beautie shalbe as the oliue tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
seine Schößlinge sollen sich entfalten, seine Pracht soll wie die des Ölbaums werden und sein Duft dem des Libanons gleichen.
7 They that dwel vnder his shadow, shall returne: they shall reuiue as the corne, and florish as the vine: the sent thereof shalbe as the wine of Lebanon.
Wiederum sollen die in seinem Schatten Wohnenden sprießen wie das Getreide und blühen wie der Weinstock, dessen Ruhm dem Wein des Libanons gleichkommt.
8 Ephraim shall say, What haue I to doe any more with idoles? I haue heard him, and looked vpon him: I am like a greene firre tree: vpon me is thy fruite founde.
Was hat Ephraim in Zukunft noch mit den Götzen zu schaffen? Ich allein erhöre ihn und behalte ihn im Auge; ich bin (für ihn) wie eine immergrüne Zypresse; von mir her wird Frucht an dir zu finden sein.«
9 Who is wise, and he shall vnderstande these things? and prudent, and he shall knowe them? for the wayes of the Lord are righteous, and the iust shall walke in them: but the wicked shall fall therein.
Wer ist weise, daß er dies einsieht, wer einsichtsvoll, daß er es beherzigt? »Gerade sind die Wege des HERRN, und die Gerechten wandeln (sicher) auf ihnen; die Gottlosen aber kommen auf ihnen zu Fall.«
