Hosea 11
1 When Israel was a childe, then I loued him, and called my sonne out of Egypt.
Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei, e do Egito chamei a meu filho.
2 They called them, but they went thus from them: they sacrificed vnto Baalim, and burnt incense to images.
Quanto mais os chamavam, mais eles se afastavam de sua presença; sacrificavam aos Baalins, e ofereciam incenso às imagens de escultura.
3 I ledde Ephraim also, as one shoulde beare them in his armes: but they knewe not that I healed them.
Eu, todavia, ensinei Efraim a andar, tomando-os pelos seus braços; porém não reconheceram que eu os curava.
4 I led them with cordes of a man, euen with bandes of loue, and I was to them, as hee that taketh off the yoke from their iawes, and I laide the meat vnto them.
Com cordas humanas eu os puxei, com cordas de amor; e fui para eles como os que levantam o jugo de sobre suas cabeças, e lhes dei alimento.
5 He shall no more returne into the lande of Egypt: but Asshur shalbe his King, because they refused to conuert.
[Israel] não voltará à terra do Egito, mas o assírio será seu rei, porque recusam se converter.
6 And the sworde shall fall on his cities, and shall consume his barres, and deuoure them, because of their owne counsels.
E a espada moverá sobre suas cidades; destruirá os ferrolhos de seus portões, e acabará com seus planos.
7 And my people are bent to rebellion against me: though they called them to the most hie, yet none at all would exalt him.
Porém meu povo insiste em se desviar de mim; ainda que chamem ao Altíssimo, ninguém de fato o exalta.
8 Howe shall I giue thee vp, Ephraim? howe shall I deliuer thee, Israel? how shall I make thee, as Admah? howe shall I set thee, as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within mee: my repentings are rouled together.
Como posso te abandonar, ó Efraim? Como posso te entregar, ó Israel? Como posso fazer de ti como Admá, [ou] te tornar como a Zeboim? Meu coração se comove dentro de mim, todas as minhas compaixões estão acesas.
9 I wil not execute ye fiercenesse of my wrath: I will not returne to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man, the holy one in the middes of thee, and I will not enter into the citie.
Não executarei o furor de minha ira, não voltarei a destruir Efraim; porque eu sou Deus, e não homem, o Santo no meio de ti; e não entrarei na cidade.
10 They shall walke after the Lord: he shall roare like a lyon: when hee shall roare, then the children of the West shall feare.
Ao SENHOR seguirão; ele rugirá como leão; quando ele rugir os filhos virão tremendo desde o ocidente.
11 They shall feare as a sparrow out of Egypt, and as a doue of the lande of Asshur, and I will place them in their houses, sayth the Lord.
Tremendo virão do Egito como um pássaro, e da terra da Assíria como uma pomba; e eu os farei habitar em suas casas, diz o SENHOR.
12 Ephraim copasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Iudah yet ruleth with God, and is faithfull with the Saints.
Efraim me cercou com mentira, e a casa de Israel com engano; mas Judá ainda andava com Deus, e era é fiel ao Santo.
