Hosea 11
1 When Israel was a childe, then I loued him, and called my sonne out of Egypt.
“ইস্রায়েল যখন শিশু ছিল, আমি তাকে ভালোবাসলাম, এবং মিশর থেকে আমি আমার পুত্রকে ডেকে আনলাম।
2 They called them, but they went thus from them: they sacrificed vnto Baalim, and burnt incense to images.
কিন্তু আমি ইস্রায়েলকে যতবার ডেকেছি, তারা তত বেশি আমার কাছ থেকে দূরে সরে গেল। তারা বায়াল-দেবতাদের সামনে বলি উৎসর্গ করল এবং তারা প্রতিমাদের সামনে ধূপদাহ করল।
3 I ledde Ephraim also, as one shoulde beare them in his armes: but they knewe not that I healed them.
আমিই ইফ্রয়িমকে হাঁটতে শিখিয়েছিলাম, তাদের কোলে নিতাম; তারা কিন্তু বুঝলো না। যে আমিই তাদের সুস্থ করেছিলাম।
4 I led them with cordes of a man, euen with bandes of loue, and I was to them, as hee that taketh off the yoke from their iawes, and I laide the meat vnto them.
আমি মানবিক সদিচ্ছা ও স্নেহের দড়ি দিয়ে তাদের চালিত করতাম; তাদের ঘাড় থেকে জোয়াল তুলে নিতাম এবং ঝুঁকে পড়ে তাদের খাবার খাওয়াতাম।
5 He shall no more returne into the lande of Egypt: but Asshur shalbe his King, because they refused to conuert.
“তারা কি মিশরে ফিরে যাবে না এবং আসিরিয়া কি তাদের উপরে রাজত্ব করবে না, যেহেতু তারা অনুতপ্ত হতে চায়নি?
6 And the sworde shall fall on his cities, and shall consume his barres, and deuoure them, because of their owne counsels.
তাদের নগরগুলিতে তরোয়াল ঝলসে উঠবে, যা ভেঙে ফেলবে তাদের নগরদ্বারগুলির খিল এবং পরিসমাপ্তি ঘটাবে তাদের পরিকল্পনাসমূহের।
7 And my people are bent to rebellion against me: though they called them to the most hie, yet none at all would exalt him.
আমার প্রজারা আমার কাছ থেকে মুখ ফেরাতে দৃঢ়প্রতিজ্ঞ হয়েছে। তাই যতই তারা পরাৎপর ঈশ্বরকে ডাকুক, তিনি কিন্তু কোনোভাবেই তাদের তুলে ধরবেন না।
8 Howe shall I giue thee vp, Ephraim? howe shall I deliuer thee, Israel? how shall I make thee, as Admah? howe shall I set thee, as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within mee: my repentings are rouled together.
“ইফ্রয়িম, আমি কীভাবে তোমাকে ত্যাগ করতে পারি? ইস্রায়েল, আমি কীভাবে তোমাকে অন্যের হাতে সমর্পণ করব? আমি কীভাবে তোমার প্রতি অদ্মার মতো আচরণ করব? কীভাবেই বা আমি তোমাকে সবোয়িমের তুল্য করে তুলবো? তোমার জন্য আমার অন্তর ব্যাকুল হচ্ছে; আমার সমস্ত অনুকম্পা উথলে উঠছে।
9 I wil not execute ye fiercenesse of my wrath: I will not returne to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man, the holy one in the middes of thee, and I will not enter into the citie.
আমার ভয়ংকর ক্রোধ আমি কার্যকর করব না, কিংবা ইফ্রয়িমের প্রতি মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে তাঁকে ছারখার করব না। কারণ আমি ঈশ্বর, মানুষ নই, তোমাদের মধ্যবর্তী আমি সেই এক ও অদ্বিতীয় পবিত্রজন। তাই আমি সক্রোধে উপস্থিত হব না।
10 They shall walke after the Lord: he shall roare like a lyon: when hee shall roare, then the children of the West shall feare.
তারা সদাপ্রভুর অনুসরণ করবে; তিনি সিংহের মতো গর্জন করবেন। এবং যখন তিনি গর্জন করেন, তখন তাঁর সন্তানেরা পশ্চিমদিক থেকে কম্পিত হয়ে আসবে।
11 They shall feare as a sparrow out of Egypt, and as a doue of the lande of Asshur, and I will place them in their houses, sayth the Lord.
মিশর থেকে পাখির মতো তারা কাঁপতে কাঁপতে আসবে, আসিরিয়া থেকে ঘুঘুর মতো আসবে। আমি তাদের গৃহে তাদের প্রতিষ্ঠিত করব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।
12 Ephraim copasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Iudah yet ruleth with God, and is faithfull with the Saints.
ইফ্রয়িম মিথ্যা কথায় ও ইস্রায়েল ছলনায় আমাকে ঘিরে আছে। এবং যিহূদা ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে অবাধ্য এমনকি বিশ্বস্ত পবিত্রজনের বিরুদ্ধেও।
