Haggai 2
1 In the seuenth moneth, in the one and twentieth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,
El veintiuno del mes séptimo, habló Yahvé, por boca del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
2 Speake nowe to Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
“Habla a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y al Sumo Sacerdote Jesús, hijo de Josedec, y al resto del pueblo, y diles:
3 Who is left among you, that sawe this House in her first glory, and howe doe you see it nowe? is it not in your eyes, in comparison of it as nothing?
¿Vive entre vosotros aún un hombre que haya visto esta Casa en su gloria anterior? ¿Y qué tal os parece ahora? ¿No es a vuestros ojos como nada?
4 Yet nowe be of good courage, O Zerubbabel, sayth the Lord, and be of good comfort, O Iehoshua, sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest: and be strong, all ye people of the land, sayth the Lord, and doe it: for I am with you, sayth the Lord of hostes,
Ahora, pues, cobra ánimo, oh Zorobabel, dice Yahvé. Cobra ánimo, oh Jesús, hijo de Josedec, Sumo Sacerdote; cobra ánimo, pueblo todo del país, dice Yahvé. ¡Y manos a la obra! pues Yo estoy con vosotros, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.
5 According to the worde that I couenanted with you, when ye came out of Egypt: so my Spirite shall remaine among you, feare ye not.
Por el pacto qué hice con vosotros cuando salisteis de Egipto, mi Espíritu está en medio de vosotros. No temáis.
6 For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Yet a litle while, and I will shake the heauens and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land:
Porque así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Una vez más, y esto dentro de poco, conmoveré el cielo y la tierra, el mar y los continentes.
7 And I will moue all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this House with glory, sayth the Lord of hostes.
Conmoveré todas las naciones, y vendrán los tesoros de todos los pueblos, y henchiré de gloria esta Casa, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.
8 The siluer is mine, and the golde is mine, sayth the Lord of hostes.
Mía es la plata, mío el oro, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.
9 The glory of this last House shall be greater then the first, sayth the Lord of hostes: and in this place will I giue peace, sayth the Lord of hostes.
Grande será la gloria de esta Casa; más grande que la primera será su postrera, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos; y en este lugar daré la paz, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.”
10 In the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto the Prophet Haggai, saying,
El día veinticuatro del mes noveno del año segundo de Darío, habló Yahvé por boca del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
11 Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Aske nowe the Priests concerning the Law, and say,
“Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Propón a los sacerdotes esta cuestión legal:
12 If one beare holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt doe touch the bread, or the potage, or the wine, or oyle, or any meate, shall it be holy? And the Priests answered and said, No.
Si uno lleva carne sagrada en una falda de su vestido, y toca con esa su falda pan, o un guiso, o vino, o aceite, o cualquier clase de comida, ¿quedarán acaso santificadas estas cosas?” Respondieron los sacerdotes y dijeron que no.
13 Then sayde Haggai, If a polluted person touch any of these, shall it be vncleane? And the Priests answered, and sayd, It shalbe vncleane.
Luego dijo Ageo: “Si uno está inmundo por (haber tocado a) un muerto y toca alguna de estas cosas, ¿quedarán estas inmundas?” Respondieron los sacerdotes y dijeron: “Quedarán inmundas.”
14 Then answered Haggai, and sayd, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord: and so are all the workes of their hands, and that which they offer here, is vncleane.
Entonces Ageo tomó la palabra y dijo: “Así es este pueblo, y así es esta nación, delante de Mí, dice Yahvé; y así son todas las obras de sus manos; inmundo es lo que me ofrecen en este lugar.
15 And nowe, I pray you, consider in your mindes: from this day, and afore, euen afore a stone was layde vpon a stone in the Temple of the Lord:
Mirad ahora (lo que sucederá) desde este día en adelante: Antes de poner vosotros piedra sobre piedra en el Templo de Yahvé,
16 Before these things were, when one came to an heape of twentie measures, there were but ten: when one came to the wine presse for to drawe out fiftie vessels out of the presse, there were but twentie.
cuando uno iba a un montón de veinte había solamente diez (medidas), cuando iba al lagar para sacar cincuenta, había solamente veinte,
17 I smote you with blasting, and with mildewe, and with haile, in all the labours of your hands: yet you turned not to me, saith the Lord.
porque Yo os castigué con tizón y añublo y granizo, (destruyendo) todas las labores de vuestras manos; y con todo no os volvisteis a Mí, dice Yahvé.
18 Consider, I pray you, in your mindes, from this day, and afore from the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, euen from the day that the foundation of the Lords Temple was laide: consider it in your mindes.
Pero mirad (lo que sucederá) desde este día en adelante, desde el día veinte y cuatro del mes noveno, desde el día en que han sido echados los cimientos de la Casa de Yahvé. ¡Miradlo bien!
19 Is the seede yet in the barne? as yet the vine, and the figtree, and the pomegranate, and the oliue tree hath not brought forth: from this day will I blesse you.
La semilla está todavía en el granero; la vid, la higuera, el granado, el olivo no han dado aún su fruto, pero desde este día haré Yo mi bendición.”
20 And againe the worde of the Lord came vnto Haggai in the foure and twentieth day of the moneth, saying,
Habló Yahvé a Ageo por segunda vez, el día veinte y cuatro del mes, diciendo:
21 Speake to Zerubbabel the prince of Iudah, and say, I wil shake the heauens and the earth,
“Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá, y dile: Yo conmoveré el cielo y la tierra;
22 And I will ouerthrowe the throne of kingdomes, and I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I wil ouerthrowe the charets, and those that ride in them, and the horse and the riders shall come downe, euery one by the sword of his brother.
trastornaré el trono de los reinos y destruiré el poder de los reinos de los gentiles, volcaré los carros y sus ocupantes, y caerán los caballos y los que en ellos cabalgan, los unos por la espada de los otros.
23 In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel my seruant, the sonne of Shealtiel, sayth the Lord, and wil make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lord of hostes.
En aquel día, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, te tomaré, oh Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, siervo mío, dice Yahvé, y te haré como anillo de sellar, porque Yo te he escogido”, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.
