Haggai 2
1 In the seuenth moneth, in the one and twentieth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,
Au septième [mois], le vingt et unième [jour] du mois, la parole de l’Éternel vint par Aggée le prophète, disant:
2 Speake nowe to Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
Parle à Zorobabel, fils de Shealthiel, gouverneur de Juda, et à Joshua, fils de Jotsadak, le grand sacrificateur, et au reste du peuple, disant:
3 Who is left among you, that sawe this House in her first glory, and howe doe you see it nowe? is it not in your eyes, in comparison of it as nothing?
Qui est de reste parmi vous qui ait vu cette maison dans sa première gloire, et comment la voyez-vous maintenant? N’est-elle pas comme rien à vos yeux?
4 Yet nowe be of good courage, O Zerubbabel, sayth the Lord, and be of good comfort, O Iehoshua, sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest: and be strong, all ye people of the land, sayth the Lord, and doe it: for I am with you, sayth the Lord of hostes,
Mais maintenant, sois fort, Zorobabel, dit l’Éternel, et sois fort, Joshua, fils de Jotsadak, grand sacrificateur, et soyez forts, vous, tout le peuple du pays, dit l’Éternel, et travaillez; car je suis avec vous, dit l’Éternel des armées.
5 According to the worde that I couenanted with you, when ye came out of Egypt: so my Spirite shall remaine among you, feare ye not.
La parole [selon laquelle] j’ai fait alliance avec vous, lorsque vous êtes sortis d’Égypte, et mon Esprit, demeurent au milieu de vous; ne craignez pas.
6 For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Yet a litle while, and I will shake the heauens and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land:
Car, ainsi dit l’Éternel des armées: Encore une fois, ce sera dans peu de temps, et j’ébranlerai les cieux et la terre, et la mer et la terre sèche;
7 And I will moue all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this House with glory, sayth the Lord of hostes.
et j’ébranlerai toutes les nations. Et l’objet du désir de toutes les nations viendra, et je remplirai cette maison de gloire, dit l’Éternel des armées.
8 The siluer is mine, and the golde is mine, sayth the Lord of hostes.
L’argent est à moi, et l’or est à moi, dit l’Éternel des armées:
9 The glory of this last House shall be greater then the first, sayth the Lord of hostes: and in this place will I giue peace, sayth the Lord of hostes.
la dernière gloire de cette maison sera plus grande que la première, dit l’Éternel des armées, et dans ce lieu, je donnerai la paix, dit l’Éternel des armées.
10 In the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto the Prophet Haggai, saying,
Le vingt-quatrième [jour] du neuvième [mois], dans la seconde année de Darius, la parole de l’Éternel vint par Aggée le prophète, disant:
11 Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Aske nowe the Priests concerning the Law, and say,
Ainsi dit l’Éternel des armées: Interroge les sacrificateurs sur la loi, disant:
12 If one beare holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt doe touch the bread, or the potage, or the wine, or oyle, or any meate, shall it be holy? And the Priests answered and said, No.
Si un homme porte de la chair sainte dans le pan de sa robe, et qu’il touche avec le pan de sa robe du pain, ou quelque mets, ou du vin, ou de l’huile, ou quoi que ce soit qu’on mange, [ce qu’il a touché] sera-t-il sanctifié? Et les sacrificateurs répondirent et dirent: Non.
13 Then sayde Haggai, If a polluted person touch any of these, shall it be vncleane? And the Priests answered, and sayd, It shalbe vncleane.
Et Aggée dit: Si un homme qui est impur par un corps [mort] touche quelqu’une de toutes ces choses, est-elle devenue impure? Et les sacrificateurs répondirent et dirent: Elle est impure.
14 Then answered Haggai, and sayd, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord: and so are all the workes of their hands, and that which they offer here, is vncleane.
Et Aggée répondit et dit: Ainsi est ce peuple, et ainsi est cette nation devant moi, dit l’Éternel, et ainsi est toute l’œuvre de leurs mains, et ce qu’ils présentent là est impur.
15 And nowe, I pray you, consider in your mindes: from this day, and afore, euen afore a stone was layde vpon a stone in the Temple of the Lord:
Et maintenant, considérez bien, je vous prie, [ce qui va arriver] dès ce jour et dorénavant: avant qu’on ait mis pierre sur pierre au temple de l’Éternel, –
16 Before these things were, when one came to an heape of twentie measures, there were but ten: when one came to the wine presse for to drawe out fiftie vessels out of the presse, there were but twentie.
avant que ces [jours] soient, si l’on venait à un tas de 20 [boisseaux], il y en avait dix; si l’on venait à la cuve pour puiser 50 mesures, il y en avait 20;
17 I smote you with blasting, and with mildewe, and with haile, in all the labours of your hands: yet you turned not to me, saith the Lord.
je vous ai frappés par la brûlure et la rouille et la grêle, [dans] toute l’œuvre de vos mains, et aucun de vous [n’est revenu] à moi, dit l’Éternel:
18 Consider, I pray you, in your mindes, from this day, and afore from the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, euen from the day that the foundation of the Lords Temple was laide: consider it in your mindes.
considérez-le bien, je vous prie, dès ce jour et dorénavant, depuis le vingt-quatrième jour du neuvième [mois], depuis le jour où le temple de l’Éternel a été fondé; considérez-le bien.
19 Is the seede yet in the barne? as yet the vine, and the figtree, and the pomegranate, and the oliue tree hath not brought forth: from this day will I blesse you.
La semence est-elle encore dans le grenier? Même la vigne, et le figuier, et le grenadier, et l’olivier, n’ont pas porté de fruit. Dès ce jour-ci, je bénirai.
20 And againe the worde of the Lord came vnto Haggai in the foure and twentieth day of the moneth, saying,
Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à Aggée, pour la seconde fois, le vingt-quatrième [jour] du mois, disant:
21 Speake to Zerubbabel the prince of Iudah, and say, I wil shake the heauens and the earth,
Parle à Zorobabel, gouverneur de Juda, disant: J’ébranlerai les cieux et la terre,
22 And I will ouerthrowe the throne of kingdomes, and I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I wil ouerthrowe the charets, and those that ride in them, and the horse and the riders shall come downe, euery one by the sword of his brother.
je renverserai le trône des royaumes, et je détruirai la puissance des royaumes des nations, et je renverserai les chars et ceux qui les montent; et les chevaux seront abattus, et ceux qui les montent, chacun par l’épée de son frère.
23 In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel my seruant, the sonne of Shealtiel, sayth the Lord, and wil make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lord of hostes.
En ce jour-là, dit l’Éternel des armées, je te prendrai, Zorobabel, fils de Shealthiel, mon serviteur, dit l’Éternel, et je te mettrai comme un cachet; car je t’ai choisi, dit l’Éternel des armées.
