Haggai 1
1 In the second yeere of King Darius, in the sixt moneth, the first day of the moneth, came ye worde of the Lord (by the ministery of the Prophet Haggai) vnto Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, a prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, saying,
En el segundo año del rey Darío, en el sexto mes, el primer día del mes, llegó la palabra del Señor por medio del profeta Hageo a Zorobabel, el hijo de Salatiel, gobernante de Judá, y a Josué, hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote, diciendo:
2 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, saying, This people say, The time is not yet come, that the Lords House should be builded.
Estas son las palabras del Señor de los ejércitos: Estas personas dicen: No ha llegado el tiempo, el tiempo de construir la casa del Señor.
3 Then came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,
Entonces la palabra del Señor vino por medio del profeta Hageo, diciendo:
4 Is it time for your selues to dwell in your sieled houses, and this House lie waste?
¿Es un momento para que vivas en casas con techo mientras esta casa está en ruinas?
5 Now therefore thus saith ye Lord of hostes, Consider your owne wayes in your hearts.
Por esto el Señor de los ejércitos ha dicho: reflexionen en sus acciones.
6 Ye haue sowen much, and bring in litle: ye eate, but ye haue not ynough: ye drinke, but ye are not filled: ye clothe you, but ye be not warme: and he that earneth wages, putteth the wages into a broken bagge.
Mucho se ha plantado, pero cosechan poco; comen, pero no quedan satisfechos; beben, pero se quedan con sed; están vestidos, pero nadie entra en calor; y el que recibe el pago por su trabajo, lo pone en una bolsa llena de agujeros.
7 Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Consider your owne wayes in your hearts.
Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: piensa en tus acciones.
8 Goe vp to the mountaine, and bring wood, and build this House, and I wil be fauourable in it, and I will be glorified, sayth the Lord.
Suban a las colinas y traigan madera y edifiquen el templo; y lo disfrutaré y seré honrado, dice el Señor.
9 Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to litle: and when ye brought it home, I did blowe vpon it. And why, sayth the Lord of hostes? Because of mine House that is waste, and ye runne euery man vnto his owne house.
Estaban buscando mucho, y encuentran poco; y cuando lo guardas en tu casa, lo quité con un soplo. ¿Por qué? dice el señor de los ejércitos. Debido a que mi casa es un desperdicio, mientras que cada hombre cuida la casa que es suya.
10 Therefore the heauen ouer you stayed it selfe from dewe, and the earth stayed her fruite.
Por esto el cielo que está sobre ti no les da rocío, y la tierra no les da fruto.
11 And I called for a drought vpon the land, and vpon the mountaines, and vpon the corne, and vpon the wine, and vpon the oyle, vpon all that the ground bringeth foorth: both vpon men and vpon cattell, and vpon all the labour of the hands.
Y por mi orden no cayó lluvia sobre la tierra o sobre las montañas o el grano, los viñedos, los olivares o las cosechas de la tierra, sobre los hombres, el ganado o sobre cualquier trabajo de las manos del hombre.
12 When Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest with all the remnant of the people, heard the voyce of the Lord their God, and the wordes of the Prophet Haggai (as the Lord their God had sent him) then the people did feare before the Lord.
Entonces Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y Josué, hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote, y todo el resto del pueblo, escucharon la voz del Señor su Dios y las palabras de Hageo el profeta, porque el Señor su Dios lo había enviado, y la gente tenía miedo delante del Señor.
13 Then spake Haggai the Lords messenger in the Lords message vnto the people, saying, I am with you, sayth the Lord.
Entonces Hageo, a quien el Señor había enviado para dar sus palabras al pueblo, dijo: Estoy con ustedes, dice el Señor.
14 And the Lord stirred vp the spirite of Zerubbabel, the sonne of Shealtiel a prince of Iudah, and the spirit of Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came, and did the worke in the House of the Lord of hostes their God.
Y el espíritu de Zorobabel, el hijo de Salatiel, gobernante de Judá, fue movido por el Señor, como lo fue el espíritu de Josué, el hijo de Josadac, el sumo sacerdote, y el espíritu de toda la demás gente; vinieron y trabajaron en la casa del Señor de los ejércitos, su Dios.
15 In the foure and twentieth day of the sixt moneth, in the second yeere of King Darius,
En el vigésimo cuarto día del mes, en el sexto mes, en el segundo año de Darío el rey.
