Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heauen and the earth.
In den beginne schiep God den hemel en de aarde.
2 And the earth was without forme and void, and darkenesse was vpon the deepe, and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the waters.
De aarde nu was woest en ledig, en duisternis was op den afgrond; en de Geest Gods zweefde op de wateren.
3 Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light.
En God zeide: Daar zij licht! en daar werd licht.
4 And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes.
En God zag het licht, dat het goed was; en God maakte scheiding tussen het licht en tussen de duisternis.
5 And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day.
En God noemde het licht dag, en de duisternis noemde Hij nacht. Toen was het avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de eerste dag.
6 Againe God said, Let there be a firmament in the mids of the waters: and let it separate the waters from the waters.
En God zeide: Daar zij een uitspansel in het midden der wateren; en dat make scheiding tussen wateren en wateren!
7 Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters which were aboue the firmament: and it was so.
En God maakte dat uitspansel, en maakte scheiding tussen de wateren, die onder het uitspansel zijn, en tussen de wateren, die boven het uitspansel zijn. En het was alzo.
8 And God called the firmament Heauen. So the Euening and the morning were the second day.
En God noemde het uitspansel hemel. En het was avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de tweede dag.
9 God said againe, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appeare. and it was so.
En God zeide: Dat de wateren van onder de hemel in een plaats vergaderd worden, en dat het droge gezien worde! en het was alzo.
10 And God called the dry land, Earth, and he called the gathering together of the waters, Seas: and God saw that it was good.
En God noemde het droge aarde, en de vergadering der wateren noemde Hij zeeen; en God zag, dat het goed was.
11 Then God said, Let the earth bud forth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seed, the fruitfull tree, which beareth fruite according to his kinde, which hath his seede in it selfe vpon the earth: and it was so.
En God zeide: Dat de aarde uitschiete gras, kruid zaadzaaiende, vruchtbaar geboomte, dragende vrucht naar zijn aard, welks zaad daarin zij op de aarde! En het was alzo.
12 And the earth brought foorth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seede according to his kind, also the tree that beareth fruit, which hath his seed in it selfe according to his kinde: and God saw that it was good.
En de aarde bracht voort grasscheutjes, kruid zaadzaaiende naar zijn aard, en vruchtdragend geboomte, welks zaad daarin was, naar zijn aard. En God zag, dat het goed was.
13 So the euening and the morning were the third day.
Toen was het avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de derde dag.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heauen, to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signes, and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres.
En God zeide: Dat er lichten zijn in het uitspansel des hemels, om scheiding te maken tussen den dag en tussen den nacht; en dat zij zijn tot tekenen en tot gezette tijden, en tot dagen en jaren!
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heauen to giue light vpon the earth: and it was so.
En dat zij zijn tot lichten in het uitspansel des hemels, om licht te geven op de aarde! En het was alzo.
16 God then made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesse light to rule the night: he made also the starres.
God dan maakte die twee grote lichten; dat grote licht tot heerschappij des daags, en dat kleine licht tot heerschappij des nachts; ook de sterren.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth,
En God stelde ze in het uitspansel des hemels, om licht te geven op de aarde.
18 And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good.
En om te heersen op den dag, en in den nacht, en om scheiding te maken tussen het licht en tussen de duisternis. En God zag, dat het goed was.
19 So the euening and the morning were the fourth day.
Toen was het avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de vierde dag.
20 Afterward God said, Let the waters bring foorth in abundance euery creeping thing that hath life: and let the foule flie vpon the earth in the open firmament of the heauen.
En God zeide: Dat de wateren overvloediglijk voortbrengen een gewemel van levende zielen; en het gevogelte vliege boven de aarde, in het uitspansel des hemels!
21 Then God created the great whales, and euery thing liuing and mouing, which the waters brought foorth in abundance according to their kinde, and euery fethered foule according to his kinde: and God sawe that it was good.
En God schiep de grote walvissen, en alle levende wremelende ziel, welke de wateren overvloediglijk voortbrachten, naar haar aard; en alle gevleugeld gevogelte naar zijn aard. En God zag, dat het goed was.
22 Then God blessed them, saying, Bring foorth fruite and multiplie, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the foule multiplie in the earth.
En God zegende ze, zeggende: Zijt vruchtbaar, en vermenigvuldigt, en vervult de wateren in de zeeen; en het gevogelte vermenigvuldige op de aarde!
23 So the euening and the morning were the fifte day.
Toen was het avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de vijfde dag.
24 Moreouer God said, Let the earth bring foorth the liuing thing according to his kinde, cattel, and that which creepeth, and the beast of the earth, according to his kinde. and it was so.
En God zeide: De aarde brenge levende zielen voort, naar haar aard, vee, en kruipend, en wild gedierte der aarde, naar zijn aard! En het was alzo.
25 And God made the beast of the earth according to his kinde, and the cattell according to his kinde, and euery creeping thing of the earth according to his kind: and God saw that it was good.
En God maakte het wild gedierte der aarde naar zijn aard, en het vee naar zijn aard, en al het kruipend gedierte des aardbodems naar zijn aard. En God zag, dat het goed was.
26 Furthermore God said, Let vs make man in our image according to our likenes, and let them rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer the beastes, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery thing that creepeth and moueth on the earth.
En God zeide: Laat Ons mensen maken, naar Ons beeld, naar Onze gelijkenis; en dat zij heerschappij hebben over de vissen der zee, en over het gevogelte des hemels, en over het vee, en over de gehele aarde, en over al het kruipend gedierte, dat op de aarde kruipt.
27 Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female.
En God schiep den mens naar Zijn beeld; naar het beeld van God schiep Hij hem; man en vrouw schiep Hij ze.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Bring forth fruite and multiplie, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth.
En God zegende hen, en God zeide tot hen: Weest vruchtbaar, en vermenigvuldigt, en vervult de aarde, en onderwerpt haar, en hebt heerschappij over de vissen der zee, en over het gevogelte des hemels, en over al het gedierte, dat op de aarde kruipt!
29 And God said, Beholde, I haue giuen vnto you euery herbe bearing seede, which is vpon al the earth, and euery tree, wherein is the fruite of a tree bearing seede: that shall be to you for meate.
En God zeide: Ziet, Ik heb ulieden al het zaadzaaiende kruid gegeven, dat op de ganse aarde is, en alle geboomte, in hetwelk zaadzaaiende boomvrucht is; het zij u tot spijze!
30 Likewise to euery beast of the earth, and to euery foule of the heauen, and to euery thing that moueth vpon the earth, which hath life in it selfe, euery greene herbe shall be for meate. and it was so.
Maar aan al het gedierte der aarde, en aan al het gevogelte des hemels, en aan al het kruipende gedierte op de aarde, waarin een levende ziel is, heb Ik al het groene kruid tot spijze gegeven. En het was alzo.
31 And God sawe all that he had made, and loe, it was very good. So the euening and the morning were the sixt day.
En God zag al wat Hij gemaakt had, en ziet, het was zeer goed. Toen was het avond geweest, en het was morgen geweest, de zesde dag.
