Genesis 7
1 And the Lord said vnto Noah, Enter thou and all thine house into the Arke: for thee haue I seene righteous before me in this age.
L’Éternel dit à Noé: "Entre, toi et toute ta famille, dans l’arche; car c’est toi que j’ai reconnu honnête parmi cette génération."
2 Of euery cleane beast thou shalt take to thee by seuens, the male and his female: but of vncleane beastes by couples, the male and his female.
De tout quadrupède pur, tu prendras sept couples, le mâle et sa femelle; et des quadrupèdes non purs, deux, le mâle et sa femelle.
3 Of the foules also of the heauen by seuens, male and female, to keepe seede aliue vpon the whole earth.
De même, des oiseaux du ciel, respectivement sept, mâles et femelles, pour perpétuer les espèces sur toute la face de la terre.
4 For seuen dayes hence I will cause it raine vpon the earth fourtie dayes and fourtie nightes, and all the substance that I haue made, will I destroy from off the earth.
Car encore sept jours, et je ferai pleuvoir sur la terre pendant quarante jours et quarante nuits; et j’effacerai de la surface du sol tous les êtres que j’ai créés.
5 Noah therefore did according vnto all that the Lord commanded him.
Noé se conforma à tout ce que lui avait ordonné l’Éternel.
6 And Noah was sixe hundreth yeeres olde, when the flood of waters was vpon the earth.
Or, il était âgé de six cents ans lorsque arriva le Déluge, ces eaux qui couvrirent la terre.
7 So Noah entred and his sonnes, and his wife, and his sonnes wiues with him into the Arke, because of the waters of the flood.
Noé entra avec ses fils, sa femme, et les épouses de ses fils dans l’arche, pour se garantir des eaux du Déluge.
8 Of the cleane beastes, and of the vncleane beastes, and of the foules, and of all that creepeth vpon the earth,
Des quadrupèdes purs; de ceux qui ne le sont point; des oiseaux, et de tout ce qui rampe sur le sol,
9 There came two and two vnto Noah into the Arke, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.
deux à deux ils vinrent vers Noé dans l’arche, mâles et femelles, ainsi que Dieu l’avait prescrit à Noé.
10 And so after seuen dayes the waters of the flood were vpon the earth.
Au bout des sept jours, les eaux du Déluge étaient sur la terre.
11 In the sixe hundreth yeere of Noahs life in the second moneth, the seuetenth day of the moneth, in the same day were all the fountaines of the great deepe broken vp, and the windowes of heauen were opened,
Dans l’année six cent de la vie de Noé, le deuxième mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, en ce jour jaillirent toutes les sources de l’immense Abîme, et les cataractes du ciel s’ouvrirent.
12 And the raine was vpon the earth fourtie dayes and fourtie nightes.
La pluie tomba sur la terre, quarante jours et quarante nuits.
13 In the selfe same day entred Noah with Shem, and Ham and Iapheth, the sonnes of Noah, and Noahs wife, and the three wiues of his sonnes with them into the Arke.
Ce jour-là même étaient entrés dans l’arche: Noé, Sem, Cham et Japhet, fils de Noé, et avec eux la femme de Noé et les trois femmes de ses fils;
14 They and euery beast after his kinde, and all cattell after their kinde, and euery thing that creepeth and moueth vpon the earth after his kinde, and euery foule after his kinde, euen euery bird of euery fether.
eux, et toute bête fauve selon son espèce, et tout le bétail selon son espèce, et tout animal rampant sur la terre selon son espèce, et tout volatile selon son espèce: tout oiseau, tout être ailé.
15 For they came to Noah into ye Arke, two and two, of all flesh wherein is ye breath of life.
Ils vinrent vers Noé, dans l’arche, deux à deux, de toutes les espèces douées du souffle de vie.
16 And they entring in, came male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.
Ceux qui entrèrent furent le mâle et la femelle de chaque espèce, comme Dieu l’avait commandé. Alors l’Éternel ferma sur Noé la porte de l’arche.
17 Then ye flood was fourtie dayes vpon the earth, and the waters were increased, and bare vp the Arke, which was lift vp aboue the earth.
Le Déluge ayant duré quarante jours sur la terre, les eaux, devenues grosses, soulevèrent l’arche, qui se trouva au-dessus de la terre.
18 The waters also waxed strong, and were increased exceedingly vpon the earth, and the Arke went vpon the waters.
Les eaux augmentèrent et grossirent considérablement sur la terre, de sorte que l’arche flotta à la surface des eaux.
19 The waters preuailed so exceedingly vpon the earth, that all the high mountaines, that are vnder the whole heauen, were couered.
Puis les eaux redoublèrent d’intensité sur la terre et les plus hautes montagnes qui sont sous le ciel furent submergées.
20 Fifteene cubites vpwarde did the waters preuaile, when the mountaines were couered.
De quinze coudées plus haut les eaux s’étaient élevées; et les montagnes avaient disparu.
21 Then all flesh perished that moued vpon the earth, both foule and cattell and beast, and euery thing that creepeth and moueth vpon the earth, and euery man.
Alors périt toute créature se mouvant sur la terre: oiseaux, bétail, bêtes sauvages, tous les êtres pullulant sur la terre, et toute l’espèce humaine.
22 Euery thing in whose nostrels the spirit of life did breathe, whatsoeuer they were in the drie land, they died.
Tout ce qui était animé du souffle de la vie, tout ce qui peuplait le sol, expira.
23 So he destroyed euery thing that was vpon the earth, from man to beast, to ye creeping thing, and to the foule of the heauen: they were euen destroyed from the earth. And Noah onely remained; and they that were with him in ye Arke.
Dieu effaça toutes les créatures qui étaient sur la face de la terre, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la brute, jusqu’au reptile, jusqu’à l’oiseau du ciel et ils furent effacés de la terre. Il ne resta que Noé et ce qui était avec lui dans l’arche.
24 And the waters preuailed vpon the earth an hundreth and fiftie dayes.
La crue des eaux sur la terre dura cent cinquante jours.
The Great Flood
