Genesis 6
1 So when men began to be multiplied vpon the earth, and there were daughters borne vnto them,
Il vécut dans le temps que les hommes commencèrent à être nombreux sur la terre, et que des filles leur étaient nées.
2 Then the sonnes of God sawe the daughters of men that they were faire, and they tooke them wiues of all that they liked.
Or, les fils de Dieu, ayant vu que les filles des hommes étaient belles, prirent pour femmes, parmi toutes, celles dont ils firent choix.
3 Therefore the Lord saide, My Spirit shall not alway striue with man, because he is but flesh, and his dayes shalbe an hundreth and twentie yeeres.
Et le Seigneur Dieu dit: Mon esprit ne restera pas toujours avec ces hommes, parce qu'ils ne sont que chair. Désormais leurs jours formeront cent vingt ans.
4 There were gyants in the earth in those dayes: yea, and after that the sonnes of God came vnto the daughters of men, and they had borne them children, these were mightie men, which in olde time were men of renoume.
Or, il y avait des géants sur la terre, en ces jours-là; car depuis que les fils de Dieu s'étaient unis aux filles des hommes, elles leur avaient enfanté ces géants, ces hommes fameux.
5 When the Lord sawe that the wickednesse of man was great in the earth, and all the imaginations of the thoughtes of his heart were onely euill continually,
Or, le Seigneur Dieu ayant vu que les méchancetés des hommes étaient multipliées sur la terre, et que chacun en son cœur tous les jours s'appliquait à penser au mal,
6 Then it repented ye Lord, that he had made man in the earth, and he was sorie in his heart.
Il s'attrista en lui-même d'avoir créé l'homme sur la terre. Et il réfléchit.
7 Therefore ye Lord said, I will destroy from the earth the man, whom I haue created, from man to beast, to the creeping thing, and to the foule of the heauen: for I repent that I haue made them.
Et Dieu dit: J'effacerai de la face de la terre l'homme que j'ai créé; tout sera détruit depuis l'homme jusqu'aux bestiaux, depuis les reptiles jusqu'aux oiseaux du ciel, parce que j'ai regret de les avoir créés.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Noé cependant trouva grâce devant le Seigneur Dieu.
9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a iust and vpright man in his time: and Noah walked with God.
Voici les générations de Noé. Noé, homme juste, irréprochable dans sa vie, Noé était agréable à Dieu.
10 And Noah begate three sonnes, Shem, Ham and Iapheth.
Et Noé engendra trois fils: Sém, Cham et Japhet.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God: for the earth was filled with crueltie.
Or, la terre était corrompue devant Dieu, et pleine d'iniquités.
12 Then God looked vpon the earth, and beholde, it was corrupt: for all flesh had corrupt his way vpon the earth.
Et le Seigneur Dieu vit la terre toute corrompue, parce que toute chair sur la terre avait corrompu ses voies.
13 And God said vnto Noah, An ende of all flesh is come before me: for the earth is filled with crueltie through them: and beholde, I wil destroy them with the earth.
Et le Seigneur Dieu dit à Noé: Le temps fatal de tous les hommes est arrivé devant moi, parce que la terre est pleine de leurs iniquités; voilà donc que je vais détruire eux et toute la terre.
14 Make thee an Arke of pine trees: thou shalt make cabines in the Arke, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Ainsi, fais-toi une arche d'arbres équarris; tu composeras l'arche de cellules, et tu l'enduiras de bitume, au dedans et en dehors.
15 And thus shalt thou make it: The length of the Arke shalbe three hundreth cubites, the breadth of it fiftie cubites, and the height of it thirtie cubites.
Voici comment tu feras l'arche: trois cents coudées de long, cinquante coudées de large, trente coudées de haut.
16 A windowe shalt thou make in the Arke, and in a cubite shalt thou finish it aboue, and the doore of the Arke shalt thou set in the side thereof: thou shalt make it with the lowe, seconde and third roume.
Tu construiras l'arche en rassemblant les bois les uns au-dessus des autres; tu donneras au faîte une coudée de plus d'élévation; tu feras la porte de l'arche sur les flancs; elle aura des chambres basses, un étage au- dessus, et un troisième étage.
17 And I, beholde, I will bring a flood of waters vpon the earth to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life vnder the heauen: all that is in the earth shall perish.
Car voilà que je prépare un déluge; j'amènerai de l'eau sur la terre pour anéantir toute chair ayant souffle de vie sous le ciel, et tout ce qui est sur la terre périra.
18 But with thee will I establish my couenant, and thou shalt goe into the Arke, thou, and thy sonnes, and thy wife, and thy sonnes wiues with thee.
J'établirai mon alliance avec toi; puis tu entreras dans l'arche, et avec toi entreront tes fils, ta femme, et les femmes de tes fils.
19 And of euery liuing thing, of all flesh two of euery sort shalt thou cause to come into the Arke, to keepe them aliue with thee: they shalbe male and female.
Ensuite, de tous les bestiaux, de tous les reptiles, de toutes les bêtes fauves, et de toute chair, tu introduiras dans l'arche deux couples pris parmi tous, pour être nourris avec toi; il y aura mâle et femelle.
20 Of the foules, after their kinde, and of the cattell after their kind, of euery creeping thing of the earth after his kinde, two of euery sort shall come vnto thee, that thou mayest keepe them aliue.
De tous les oiseaux ailés, par espèces, et de tous les reptiles se traînant à terre, selon leurs espèces, deux couples, pris parmi tous, mâles et femelles, entreront près de toi, pour être nourris avec toi.
21 And take thou with thee of all meate that is eaten: and thou shalt gather it to thee, that it may be meate for thee and for them.
En même temps tu prendras avec toi de tous les aliments que vous mangez, tu les transporteras près de toi, et ce sera pour votre nourriture et pour la leur.
22 Noah therefore did according vnto all, that God commanded him: euen so did he.
Et tout ce que lui ordonna le Seigneur Dieu, Noé l'accomplit exactement.
