Genesis 35
1 Then God sayde to Iaakob, Arise, goe vp to Beth-el and dwell there, and make there an altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, when thou fleddest from Esau thy brother.
Y Dijo Dios a Jacob: Sube ahora a Bet-el, y haz allí tu morada; y pon allí un altar al Dios que vino a ti cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.
2 Then saide Iaakob vnto his houshold and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and clense your selues, and change your garments:
Entonces Jacob dijo a todo su pueblo: Saquen a los dioses extraños que están en medio de ti, y báñense, y cámbiense de ropa.
3 For we will rise and goe vp to Beth-el, and I will make an altar there vnto God, which heard me in the day of my tribulation, and was with me in the way which I went.
Y subamos a Bet-el; y haré allí un altar a Dios, el cual me respondió en el día de mi angustia, y estuvo conmigo dondequiera que fui.
4 And they gaue vnto Iaakob all the strange gods, which were in their hands, and all their earings which were in their eares, and Iaakob hidde them vnder an oke, which was by Shechem.
Entonces dieron a Jacob todos los dioses ajenos que tenían, y los anillos que estaban en sus oídos; y Jacob los puso debajo del árbol santo en Siquem.
5 Then they went on their iourney, and the feare of God was vpon the cities that were roud about them: so that they did not follow after the sonnes of Iaakob.
Y partieron, y el temor de Dios estaba en las ciudades de alrededor, y no atacaron a los hijos de Jacob.
6 So came Iaakob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Beth-el) hee and all the people that was with him.
Y Jacob vino a Luz en la tierra de Canaán (que es lo mismo que Bet-el), él y todo su pueblo.
7 And he built there an altar, and had called the place, The God of Beth-el, because that God appeared vnto him there, when he fled from his brother.
Y allí él hizo un altar, nombrando el lugar El-bet-el: porque allí es donde tuvo la visión de Dios cuando huía de su hermano.
8 Then Deborah Rebekahs nourse dyed, and was buried beneath Beth-el vnder an oke: and he called the name of it Allon Bachuth.
Y Débora, sierva que había cuidado de Rebeca desde su nacimiento, llegó a su fin, y se detuvo cerca de Bet-el, debajo del árbol santo, y le pusieron el nombre de Alón Bacut.
9 Againe God appeared vnto Iaakob, after he came out of Padan Aram, and blessed him.
Cuando Jacob estaba en camino de Padan-aram, Dios volvió a él y, bendiciéndole, dijo:
10 Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.
Jacob es tu nombre, pero ya no será así; desde ahora tu nombre será Israel; así que se llamó Israel.
11 Againe God said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. growe, and multiplie. a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring of thee, and Kings shall come out of thy loynes.
Y le dijo Dios: Yo soy Dios, Todopoderoso: sé fértil, y multiplícate; una nación, verdaderamente un grupo de naciones, vendrá de ti, y los reyes serán tus descendientes;
12 Also I will giue the lande, which I gaue to Abraham and Izhak, vnto thee: and vnto thy seede after thee will I giue that land.
Y la tierra que di a Abraham e Isaac, te daré; y a tu simiente después de ti daré la tierra.
13 So God ascended from him in the place where he had talked with him.
Entonces Dios se levantó de él en el lugar donde había estado hablando con él.
14 And Iaakob set vp a pillar in the place where he talked with him, a pillar of stone, and powred drinke offring thereon: also hee powred oyle thereon.
Y Jacob puso una columna en el lugar donde había estado hablando con Dios, y puso sobre ella ofrenda de agua y aceite.
15 And Iaakob called the name of the place, where God spake with him, Beth-el.
Y él le dio al lugar donde Dios había estado hablando con él, el nombre de Betel.
16 Then they departed from Beth-el, and when there was about halfe a daies iourney of ground to come to Ephrath, Rahel trauailed, and in trauailing she was in perill.
Y pasaron de Bet-el; y mientras todavía estaban a cierta distancia de Efrata, los dolores del parto vinieron sobre Raquel y ella tuvo un momento difícil.
17 And whe she was in paines of her labour, the midwife saide vnto her, Feare not: for thou shalt haue this sonne also.
Y cuando su dolor fue grande, la mujer que la estaba ayudando dijo: No temas; porque ahora tendrás otro hijo.
18 Then as she was about to yeelde vp the Ghost (for she died) she called his name Ben-oni, but his father called him Beniamin.
Y a la hora en que su vida se fue de ella (porque la muerte vino a ella), le dio al niño el nombre de Benoni; pero su padre le dio el nombre de Benjamín.
19 Thus died Rahel, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
Llegó, pues, Raquel, y se detuvo en el camino de Efrata, que es Belén.
20 And Iaakob set a pillar vpon her graue: This is the pillar of Rahels graue vnto this day.
Y Jacob puso una columna en su lugar de reposo; que se llama, El Pilar del lugar de descanso de Raquel, hasta el día de hoy.
21 Then Israel went forwarde, and pitched his tent beyond Migdal-eder.
Y siguió Israel, y puso sus tiendas del otro lado de la torre del Edar.
22 Now, when Israel dwelt in that land, Reuben went, and lay with Bilhah his fathers concubine, and it came to Israels eare. And Iaakob had twelue sonnes.
Mientras vivían en aquella tierra, Rubén tuvo relaciones con Bilha, sierva de su padre; e Israel se enteró.
23 The sonnes of Leah: Reuben Iaakobs eldest sonne, and Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
Y Jacob tuvo doce hijos: los hijos de Lea; Rubén, el primogénito de Jacob, y Simeón, y Leví, y Judá, e Isacar, y Zabulón;
24 The sonnes of Rahel: Ioseph and Beniamin.
Los hijos de Raquel: José y Benjamín;
25 And the sonnes of Bilhah Rahels maide: Dan and Naphtali.
Los hijos de Bilha, sierva de Raquel: Dan y Neftalí;
26 And the sonnes of Zilpah Leahs maide: Gad and Asher. These are the sonnes of Iaakob, which were borne him in Padan Aram.
Los hijos de Zilpa, sierva de Lea: Gad y Aser; estos son los hijos que Jacob tuvo en Padan-aram.
27 Then Iaakob came vnto Izhak his father to Mamre a citie of Arbah: this is Hebron, where Abraham and Izhak were strangers.
Y Jacob vino a su padre Isaac en Mamre, en Quiriat-arba, es decir, Hebrón, donde Abraham e Isaac habían estado viviendo.
28 And the daies of Izhak were an hundreth and fourescore yeeres.
Y Isaac tenía ciento ochenta años.
29 And Izhak gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people, being olde and full of daies: and his sonnes Esau and Iaakob buried him.
Entonces Isaac llegó a su fin y fue sepultado con el pueblo de su padre, un anciano después de una larga vida; y Jacob y Esaú, sus hijos, lo sepultaron.
